Absolutely awesome organization we were referred to via our home insurance provider after significant water damage to the bottom floors of our home.

The techs they sent (DJ & Trever, I think) were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. They even worked well with and around our family pets.

They cleaned up after they left so our home didn’t look like a worksite, and wore those little blue booties over their work boots when walking through the house.

We were in a terrible situation with a flooded basement, as was thousands of people in the Louisville area. We called several other companies and after two days of our calls not being returned, we reached out to First Light. They too had all their teams dispatched but fortunately they stood up a back up crew which included members from their management team and the owner. They responded within hours and got to work immediately.

Over the following few weeks, we had the pleasure of meeting several people from the company. They were all so great to work with! They know what needs to be done, and the process from start to finish couldn’t be any better. That includes anticipating and dealing with our insurance company red tape and processes. The insurance company literally covered the loss strictly using the documentation and steps that First Light provided and immediately issued the checks. They too were impressed with them.

I was notified of a client’s flooded basement, with TONS of junk in it. 48 hours later the basement was cleared, dried, gutted and ready to be put on the market. Will be using them many more times!

This company is amazing. Worked with Trevor B, over the phone. He answered on my first attempt of calling. After asking a series of questions, he didn’t hesitate to send his team out immediately to help dry out basement.

We discovered Water Damage at about 6am on a Sunday morning. We called several Mitigation Companies, and 1st Light was the first to responded. The team showed up within hours, and was very neat, professional and courteous. Other companies couldn't even get us on their schedules for at least 2 days. Wes, the owner, is very involved in the business and we cannot say enough good things about him. He is very forthright, honest, and follows through exactly as promised! Our case was probably more of a headache for him then most, yet he treated us fairly, answered phone calls promptly, and did NOT take advantage of our situation! We had a basement that flooded due to a faulty sump pump. Called First Light and they were there that day with 15+ fans and dehumidifiers. They took out 24” of drywall and the carpet. They did all the repairs and everything looks great. Communication was superior and they always showed up when they said the would. Thanks First Light!

First Light was outstanding! I gave them very short notice to repair damage to my roof before another storm system came through. They came out and made repairs in a very timely manner. After the job was complete, another representative came by to make sure I was completely satisfied with the results. Professional, efficient and quality results. If I could give 10 stars I would!!!

When our sump pump failed in the middle of the night during heavy rainstorm, I frantically called multiple companies, only to be told they couldn’t even schedule me for 24-48 hours. Then, I reached Sharon at 2 or 2:30 AM, and from that moment, everything changed. She was professional and reassuring and immediately scheduled us for 9 AM the same morning. By 8:15 AM, Jon called to confirm that the team was on their way—meanwhile, it’s now been 36-48 hours, and I’ve only heard back from one of the other companies, who asked if we still need help. The difference in response time was staggering.

When Jon and Jose arrived, they immediately took charge, assessing the damage and creating a realistic, affordable game plan—which became even more critical when we discovered (after they were already here) that we did not have the flood insurance we thought we had. It was an incredibly overwhelming moment, but Jon reassured us that everything was going to be okay, and he and Jose worked tirelessly to extract the water and salvage as much as possible.

They turned what started as a nightmare into the best experience possible. After having a small yet mighty kitchen fire, I hired their competitor to clean up the mess and had a less than pleasant experience with a job that was never completed. Shortly after that, it started raining in my living room, so I already knew who not to call, so instead by recommendation of my insurance company, I called First Light Restoration. Ryan and his team came out right away and got fans going in my house to dry out all the rain that got inside. Then they sent out DJ to give me a quote for fixing the interior damage, my insurance wouldn’t cover it, so I passed, but then I asked if they’d be able to fix the job in my kitchen that their competitor didn’t finish, and my insurance said “yeah we will pay for that” so I said THANK YOU and DJ sent his team to come clean up residual smoke damage, and then called in Victor and his team to paint my dark cloud of a kitchen in to the color of my choice, the most beautiful shade of pink I could dream of. Everyone was so pleasant to work with. From my first call with Sharon, to my final goodbye with Victor. Everyone was so professional and kind and didn’t ever make me feel creeped out or uncomfortable. I cannot recommend them enough. I hope I never have to call them again, but I’m very thankful that I did when I needed to.
