**after this review, I received a new invoice for $500 for work done years ago.

Had our roof and siding done after the derecho. My wife worked overnights so we requested the work to be done after the lunch hour so she could sleep. We were told they'd be out on a specific day and would be after lunch, but they showed up a day early in the early morning, waking her up. First inconvenience was fine because we were happy the work was getting done. Lake apologized for the miscommunication at that time.

When work was done, there were hundreds of nails around our property. We have young kids and a dog, so I was concerned with all the nails around. Along with nails were debris left behind from trim. I asked Lake for a magnetic sweeper cause I'd be happy to clean it up, but he said he'd take care of it. Took more than a week and me bugging him, I know it was a busy time but I was fairly annoyed.

Storm door was replaced as well in another job by them. The original door had a piece to prevent the door from opening too far and striking the brick siding. The new door was installed without this, and was broken within 1 week. I spoke with Lake about it and he told me he'd be willing to split the cost on a new door, but wouldn't admit incorrect installation. He never split the cost.

When the roof was replaced, a spinning hood was installed to our vent by Exterior +. We were selling our home a few years after the work was done and the buyer's home inspector noted this was against code due to the short height of the vent and not having continuous draft (something like that). I called Exterior + multiple times and showed up to their business during operating hours, but never got ahold of anyone for at least 2 weeks. Finally got through and was told by Lake he'd personally come check it out the next week. He never showed up. During our most stressful time, they failed to follow through until 5 days prior to closing. They finally got back to me and said the roof vent was not their responsibility, they don't do plumbing. I figured they did since they installed it, but that's not the problem. The problem was being strung along WEEKS with no-call no-shows, missed communication, and broken promises. I was able to work with a local plumbing company who thankfully changed their work priorities to get us taken care of before closing.

Shortly after posting my original review with less details, I received a text from (presumably) Lake saying "Really? Because of the Vent that wasn’t our responsibility? Or is there something else? "

The lack of awareness of dropping the ball on customers who pay, flexible and understanding at first, and follows up with rude remarks to being called out is enough for me to suggest saving yourself the headache and money to look elsewhere. If you need more proof, look at the other responses to the other low star reviews.

Do NOT do business with these guys. I caught them in a number of lies during the job, which stretched out forever due to their poor communication, both with me and internally. Also, I found out today that they filed a mechanic's lien on my property for lack of payment. This is an insurance claim, and they filed the lien knowing full well they had not given the insurance company the requested documentation so I haven't received my check. They also lied about ordering my windows before they had measured them, and when the wrong ones came anyway (!) they tried to pressure me to put the wrong ones in, even though they didn't match the others.

My parents had their deck replaced and concrete work done. The deck was supposed to be done in time for a baby shower and it was not, it was done a week later but the concrete work was good. They screwed in the screws too deep and split the wood and they were drinking on the job. Thankfully the work was finally done but would not recommend.

Great experience! The crew did a great job even and dealt well with surprises when removing the old windows like no framing around them. A very dedicated crew and company!

If you want a pushy, false advertising company then this is the place to call! We asked for a quote on a new roof for our house which we never received because "this insuance company was close on their estimate." Before the 'Sales Specialist' left he had us sign an agreement that he stated was "just giving them the okay to communicate with the insurance company." and that we would come in and sign the contract for work after they put everything into their system. After we found out they don't do their own work and subcontract everything, we decided to not use Exterior. We informed them of this 3 days after they came out to inspect the house (which is within the time frame on their "contract" to cancel), only later to receive a phone call that we signed a contract that gave them permission to do the work on the house. I now have a feeling they are the type of company that bullies people into using them. I reccomend you steer clear and find your small business, local guy to support instead!

Exterior + Home Remodeling was the 3rd company I called for am estimate after a hail storm. Lake and his crew looked over the damage and explained in full detail how they would work with the insurance company to get everything fixed. Needless to say no other company went into the details like Exterior. Our roof has been completed in a very professional way and can’t wait to get the siding, gutters and more done in the near future. Thanks Lake and crew for helping us during this very stressful time.

Mostly good work. Willing to meet after hours. You do need patience. It took a lot longer for them to finish than expected. When we tried to get a cracked window replaced, they kept saying they would take care of it but never have. My gutters are now leaking. They did stamped concrete on my patio and pressed leaves into it. It was supposed to look like boards.

I am very happy with the roof and gutter replacement. The roof looks great, and the crew did a great job on the roof and cleaning up afterwards. I felt everything went smoothly and well taken care of. Thanks again!!

Exterior+ stopped over at my request after a hail storm. Their team spent nearly an hour with me initially discussing the damage found on my roof and what the process looked like to repair. I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to contractors, but am honestly very impressed with the roofing crew that showed up. They completed some odd ball asks and did fantastic work. The property was cleaned up quite nicely to boot. Trusted them enough to utilize them on our rentals in another town as well. Highly recommend.

Great company to work with! We have done subcontracting concrete work for Exterior +. We enjoy working with Lake and look forward to future residential and commercial projects together.

Lake and his crew from Exterior + Home Remodeling did a fantastic job making sure I was taken care of! They dealt with my insurance and fought for my house to be covered! They made a stressful situation feel stress free and made sure I was happy . They truly care about there customers! My house looks better than ever thanks to Exterior +Home Remodeling!! The team did an outstanding job! They were overly communicative and great problem solvers as we worked with insurance on haul repairs, in the midst of selling our home! Would recommend and use again!
