I was hesitant about replacing my roof. The last two times the job was completed was about 1968 and 1988. Both times the roof leaked. The second time was worse with plaster falling in the living room from water. My house has a small dormer in front. This time, two layers had to be removed, like in about 1968. A person from the company told me that the roof was too old and that he wouldn’t allow anyone to repair it anymore. Someone came from Exterior Building Solutions to fix some shingles, which blew off during the storm in March of 2025 for $400. Shingles were replaced the year prior by the same company at the same price. The entire roof replacement was over $7,000 and was an unexpected expensive but reasonable, especially with architectural shingles and the use of a membrane and gel in certain areas. There was no membrane on the roof in the past, most likely in those days because of the extra cost. My roof was about 1,500 square feet. The men were very professional, and the job was completed in one day. They came at about 7 AM and finished at 7 PM. About 5 rotten boards were replaced at 40 feet. My ridge rim has a dip, but all the other wood was checked and was good. If there were other problems, the issue would have been addressed. I personally didn’t believe they would complete the job, but they did. All the piles of debris were gone by the end of the day, and someone returned the next day to find any smaller pieces and sweep. The crew manager was very responsive to my questions I have no leaks, so far. The roof looks great.

Although the company did not install my roof I asked if he could also check it for damage which he kindly did. Charles arrived at stated appointment time and did a thorough inspection. We hired EBS (dba Apple Restoration) in February of 2024 to complete a major repair on our garage. Let me begin by saying I believe their work is satisfactory, but their communication is abysmal. After paying 50% of the project cost up front, the project was not actually completed until November 27, and we received a bill before the contractors even left our property. We had multiple appointments with Apple where no one showed, and we would get a text days later to reschedule (after losing a day of work to wait for them). Calls went unreturned. About 50% of the time, they did keep their appointments, but it was always a gamble.

One week after work was completed, we began receiving calls (now, suddenly, they can call!) about the past due bill. Since there has been no inspection with the city (required by our municipality whenever a building permit is pulled), we haven't paid the bill yet. Today was the final straw. I received a call reminding me that February will be ONE FULL YEAR since Apple has been waiting for my payment and I have been unresponsive. I again mentioned the fact that there has been no inspection, let alone a passed inspection, and Apple Restoration's representative informed me that no one has EVER asked for an inspection before. I think it's really unreasonable to consider my account a year past due when the project wasn't completed for 10 months, and to threaten me with late fees and collection based on a February date when I didn't even receive the final invoice until November.

I also find it very difficult to believe that a company that has been in business this long has never, ever had a municipality require a final inspection after a building permit was issued. My city manager tells me this is standard operating procedure. As I said, I believe the work is satisfactory, but I really won't know until the city inspector approves it.

This review is just a warning that while the work may be well done, the company knows little to nothing about customer communication (common courtesy) or about local building requirements. We had major work done to our house by another company in 2024, and they considered the final inspection to be part of the job. If you are thinking about hiring EBS/Apple Restoration, please find out whether they will need a building permit, and if so, get it in writing that they will have their work inspected. Get everything in writing, or like me, you'll be facing retroactive late fees and work that may or may not comply with your city's building codes.

What a lifesaver! We've had water issues in our sunroom for several years and have had multiple roofers and handymen out to examine the area. No one was able to help. After I called EBS, Josh was out within 24 hours and he knew immediately what the problem was (several problems, actually). The repairs were made and our sunroom is DRY for the first time in YEARS! Just needed a quote for some fascia, Ray came out looked at it and told me the honest opinion, just the bottom part of the board is rotten but the top part is a solid piece of wood. He told me he will just put some nails in it. That part is all about customer satisfaction. This company could have charged for the time to just go out to my house and do something small but they didn’t. They took care of me and were straight up honest. This is why this company has a customer for life. Great job!!!!!

I hired EBS to replace the shutters on my home. They were responsive and willing to work with me even though my request was outside of what they typically do and very reasonable compared to other bids i got. EBS did a great job of staying in contact with me when the weather was preventing them from working outside. When they came out the gentleman was knowledgable, courteous, and efficient. He was able to take down my old shutters and replace with new ones in less than 3hrs… Wow! I love the new look of my home! I would highly recommend Exterior Building Solutions and will definitely use them again!

Contacted several vendors to get estimates to repair a peeling fascia board. Chris Schumer with Exterior Building Solutions was the only vendor who maintained timely and efficient communication. He inspected the issue and even identified shingles that needed repair. He offered to also clean the gutters. Went above and beyond and coordinated with the office and project manager to get the work completed.

I hired another company to fix a leak in the roof and install gutter guards. They did a poor job and didn’t fix the issue. We moved into our 81yr old home 1.5 weeks before the 100yr rain. The rain showed us numerous problems that hadn't been identified during our home inspection. (Not sure they would have been with usual rains.) We called EBS and they were out very quickly. They fixed shingles that had come loose, nail pops, dormer repair and tuck-pointing. I turned to Exterior Building Solutions to repair tiles that were falling off of the back of my house. Smartest decision I've made in a long time. They are very professional. We had a minor drip from the roof that came through onto our ceiling. They came out on Monday and identified the problem as poor installation of rood tiles by another business. Friday they came back and fixed the problem within an hour and did so at a price I was happy with. Very much recommended.

Exterior Building Solutions replaced all of our shoddy particle-board soffits with aluminum ones that look great. The estimator was thorough and followed up diligently, their installation team was professional and efficient, and they communicated well with us from the beginning. There was a delay in getting our materials due to supply chain disruptions, but they kept us in the loop and let us know when they were coming. I would recommend them to anyone.

The experience was pretty subpar. They scratched my house when they put up the gutters. They came out and repainted the sides but not the back and I will have to do that myself. The gutters themselves look find. The lack of communication from this company is terrible. They don’t keep you updated on when things will happen. I wouldn’t recommend them personally.

Quick response and able to fit us in really soon, which was critical as there was so much rain this spring and we needed good gutters on our house. Their work is commendable, too. They worked within our needs too, which included being out of town for some of the work days. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

In June 2017, Exterior Building Solutions fixed some siding and tuckpointing on my house, which was in the process of being sold. The work was adequate, but the customer service and the mess left behind was unacceptable. Siding was left in the yard, rubble from the tuckpointing was left on the roof, nails were left on my porch, and my hose was left turned on. My contact, Josh, was of no help when I brought these issues to his attention, telling me to throw away the old siding myself and doing nothing to compensate for the mess left behind. Will never hire this company again.

We called so many places to get tuck pointing bids. This company was the only one that called us back. They also have very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair and reasonable. Got the work done under within the window they provided. Would highly recommend.

We received several bids and met with several local Angie's list contractors and ultimately decided upon EBS. Their quote seemed more in-line with the work and materials selected and we felt like they would be the most responsive and do the best work for us and our home. Our first interaction with EBS was with Mike Grossman who was great to work with. We had lots of questions and several special projects we wanted done during the roof work. Mike was courtesy, professional, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Once the schedule was set (which was based on our requested timeframe) roof work began quickly. We did have some slight weather delays but the crew reacted quickly and ensured the roof was tarped and materials picked-up. Mike the Project Manager was responsive with calls, visits and follow-ups and as the work began Anthony Grossman (EBS owner) came out personally to ensure everything was to his standards. I appreciated Anthony's visit and inspection and knew I made the right contractor decision. Several days after the roof, skylight, and cricket were installed the siding and shutters were installed by another EBS crew. Work again moved quickly (even with some weather delays) and we were very pleased with finished look. The final invoice was received shortly after and everything was in order and as expected. Overall, our personal experience with EBS was exceptional. Our roof looks fantastic and the skylight, shutters, and siding add that extra pop to the house. I would highly recommend Exterior Building Solutions for roof and exterior services and will use them again in the future.

Drip edge installed incorrectly. Replaced with correct drip edge VENTS as soon as weather permitted. Workers were polite, exceptionally industrious and the cleanup at the end of each work day was unbelievably thorough. Roof looks great and everyone (especially Dave) was a pleasure to deal with.
