After a few years of trying to convince my daughter to have someone remove a non functional chimney riser that leaked, we finally contracted Scott with Excel Roofing. I drove up from Cocoa that same morning to meet with John who was assigned the task of the removal. Scott could not have sent anyone better to complete the task than John. John sized it up, completely removed the riser, and put new wood and shingles in place of the hole. I highly recommend Excel roofing for any roofing issue you may have. Thankyou Team, and ask for John. Nicely done.

I had high hopes with Excel roofing after our first interaction. Scott was quick to answer and was able to assess our roofing problem within the day. He said he’d send over a contract that evening and be out early the following week. After calling them 14 times over a month span and being promised that they’d write up the quote each time, I moved on from expecting any follow through. I’m especially disappointed because Scott specifically said he likes to keep it “old school” by doing quality service and have personal referrals, inferring that online marketing was not his style. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see their service due to such a poor system of following through. I recommend reaching out to another company before this one.

I have received bids from 3 roofing companies, and have selected Excel Roofing because they offered the most options, had the soonest start date, and are known in the local area to provide a high quality product. The communication with Denise in the office was Excel lent, as was the site survey by Scott, the owner. I am currently waiting for Clay County to approve/issue the permit and will follow up with a finished review.

3/21/2022...As promised, here is my follow up. The work done on my roof was outstanding. There were no issues at all, as the crew was experienced and well lead. The quoted price was exactly what I was billed. Excel roofing even fixed a porch roof leak that was not part of the bid. If I'm around in 25 years when I may need a new metal roof, I hope I can find a roofing contractor that can come close to their quality and service. Thanks Scott, John, Bobby, Mike, and Miguel!

Very personable, helpful and professional staff. Best quote of 3-4 and workmanship was great. A few nails left after roof was completed, but overall I would recommend this company and its competitive pricing.

The folks at Excel did a great job from Denise in the office & Their crew was very efficient and took great pride in doing a nice job. I had some wood repair that needed done and they did a great job with that too(make sure they use pressure treated wood). The crew worked very well keeping the roof dried in and the job site clean. I have used Excel on multiple occasions. They are professional, reasonably priced, easy to work with and do fantastic work. Their crews are amazing as well; fast, easy to work with and really did an excellent job on the finished product as well as clean up. Excel gets my highest recommendation!

Four years ago, back in 2015/16 they were top notch. Haven't dealt with them since, but if they're half as good as they used to be, then they're twice as good as any one else.

Very professional company yet the representatives were very personable and easy to work with. Our roof looks great and the work was high quality. I have used them twice, and would not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again.

From start to finish Denise and Eric were extremely professional and laid out perfect expectations.
They started earlier than expected and finished earlier than expected. Anytime I had a question Denise could answer it on the spot. The roof and eaves look great and we are extremely happy with the work they did. I quoted this job out with 3 total roofing companies and although Excel was $100-$200 more, we definitely made the right choice. I would recommend them over anyone else in Jacksonville. I just mowed the yard and didn't find a single nail or piece of scrap left behind. No need to go through the hassle of having multiple quotes; call them first.

Okay, I called no less then 20 roofers pricing a job. I own several rental homes and Excel by far exceeded everything we were looking for in price and quality, including having choices of colors. After the first job they became "OUR" roofer. We are up to roof replacement number 3 with Excel Roofing and could not be happier with the service that we receive. No one does everything perfect every time and at the end of jobs we would do our inspection & if we found anything that needed attention all I would do is shoot them a email and it was promptly taken care of. I really can't speak highly enough about the service we have received thus far. Roof number 4 replacement is coming soon LOL. Thank you Excel Roofing for everything you do for our business. Problem description:
When I began looking for a roofing company I received 3 estimates for the specific work and I contracted with Excel to do the job. Their estimate was not the lowest but Bob Repke sold us on how Excel was going to resolve our water-pooling issues on the flat roof by removing the existing roof and build up the new roof to a pitch which would allow the water to drain and solve the pooling problem. While the work was being performed, an Excel employee broke through my den ceiling and debris came falling down and created a huge mess. When the worker came down to see what he had done, he advised he is reporting the damage to the owner right now. When the workers finished at the end of the day, we asked when owner is supposed to call about damaged ceiling and he said he will call by end of the day but we received no call so my wife called the next morning and left a message with the secretary. We received rain the next few days and when my wife looked out upstairs windows, she saw that water was still pooling on the roof and she took several pictures and sent them to me. I called the office and advised them of our dissatisfaction with the job and damaged ceiling so she asked me to forward copy of pics for the owner to see so I emailed them. A few days later, City of Jacksonville came by when no one was home and passed inspection so we reached out to them to advise of the issues and COJ advised they inspected as flat roof only and they don't know about or get involved in disputes. They advised to contact BBB and file complaint. Around this time, I received an email asking for payment since COJ passed inspection and I responded not paying until all issues resolved so she said will have owner contact me immediately so we can resolve. The owner of Excel, Scott, called and came out a few days later to assess the work and determine how they are going to correct the job and repair our ceiling. He asked for a few days to figure it out and he will find solution so we waited a few more days. When my wife reached out to Scott, he advised he has to leave town for a few weeks for a family wedding and he will contact us when he returns so we waited at least six more weeks and still no return call so we began leaving messages again. I texted Scott on the evening of 11/25/18 and inquired of his intentions so we can avoid further action but he never responded so here we are.

Great service before and after work was completed. The men who completed the work were very professional and hard working, and the office staff was quick with responses to all of my questions. Not only does my new roof look fantastic, the quality of work is top notch! 10/10 would recommend!

We just reroofing work completed, we are very happy with the work performed. From our first contact with Bob the salesman to the very hard working and efficient installation crew, and contact with the office staff, our experience could not have been any better! Honest reputable company, so happy we choose this company for our roof!

Robert was doing some roofing work on my neighbor's house and I asked him if he could do a job for me that required a tall ladder. He graciously said he would do the job next time he was in the neighborhood and had the proper tools with him. Three days later he came by and completed the job as promised. is all you will get. Called the office and ask when this will be done, Denise says that they are waiting on permits. Called again They have
everything they need. still nothing, called today they need application

I just had the most Unpleasant experience with Excel roofing company these past 2 months.
I made an appointment for the estimator to come out to give me an estimate on a new roof since mine was damaged from hurricane Irma. They said that they were all booked so we had to wait 3 weeks, which was fine with us. After the person came to my property and did the estimate, left without leaving any information for us.
I waited for a few days to follow up with them for an estimate. The person that answered the phone sounds clueless and said that someone will call me back. I waited another week then no one has contacted me so I called back for my estimate. This time, the girl on the phone said that the estimator was busy so he will email at the end of the week.
I waited until the end of the week again and mind you, it has been 6 weeks since I contacted them. Anyhow, I called back because there was no email or calls sent to me for a week. A very UNPROFESSIONAL person picked up and told me they were on lunch break. Honestly, if you don't want me business, please don't waste my time so I could find a better and more reliable company to hire.
I've wasted 2 whole months with this Ridiculous company and their unbelievable Rude customer/answering service. I give up!!! Thanks for Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They came out and were early for their appointment and thoroughly inspected the entire roof and were able to repair the necessary damage. I love the fact that they told us what was necessary and didn't try to upsell. Very clean and professional process start to finish.

Our roof was recently damaged from Hurricane Irma. We woke up the morning after with shingles all over our yard. During the storm we could hear a faint dripping sound coming from our ceiling. If anyone has experienced this, you know how unnerving it is. We desperately needed our roof repaired as soon as possible, but more importantly, we wanted it fixed correctly. Excel had been recommended to us by a friend we trusted, and they delivered again. In spite of the fact that they were truly overwhelmed by all of the requests after a hurricane, everyone we spoke to was courteous and professional. They actually returned our calls and came out exactly when they said they would. That is so rare nowadays. They quickly came out and inspected our roof. We feared we needed it replaced and we would get stuck with the hurricane deductible, but, thankfully, they assured us that the roof was fine and the repair would not be too expensive. What a relief! They knew we were concerned about water coming in before the roof could be repaired, so they put tarps over the damaged area in the interim. They did a great job repairing the roof. It looks great and, of course, does not leak. I am a very demanding customer, but I give Excel Roofing my highest recommendation!

They were very knowledgeable about the roofing problem we were having. A previous contractor did our roof. But our roof was still leaking and we called Excel . They sent an experienced tech out to inspect our problem. He explained what was going on and what the previous contractor failed to do. He gave us a quote and had exact measurements to perform the job and there was little to no excess material left over.

Excel Roofing recently reroofed my apartment complex and did a great job and finished ahead of schedule. I did however have to replace a couple of tires due to nails. They were of great help and reimbursed me for the repairs in just a couple of days. I was very impressed with the speed and helpfulness with getting my car repaired.

Robert, Bob and team were great from start to finish and made the whole reroofing process easy. The crew was on time and cleaned up so good you never would've known they were there. Such a great experience and highly recommend Excel Roofing!,

I had previously called 3 roofing companies who gave me roofing quotes. I saw them on my neighbors roof looking like they were measuring it. I asked him to measure mine which he did. His price was good and we went with them. Best experience from start to finish. Roof looks great, great clean up, would highly recommend!

Owner of operations came personally to my house, went up on the roof did a full inspection. Found that I needed a full new roof and gave me options on materials went over pricing and he will be back in a few days to complete the roof. Wonderful, patient, and understanding.

Excel put a new roof on my sunroom this week and I couldn't be happier with them. Bobby went above and beyond - the old roof was put on in the 70s and had a terrible design, and he did what looked like a lot of extra work to make sure the new design looked good and kept the rain out. 5 stars!

Bob came out to inspect the roof and had concerns about the roof. The owner came out to inspect my roof and made recommendations. Shows me Bob and the owner take pride in their work. Although they could not help me with my roof because I wanted a special install, not due to their skills. I called Bob to ask a favor on pricing from another company. Bob went out of his way and took the time to cost out the job to make sure my bid was in line. That says a lot about Bob and his good nature. Thanks again Bob and Excel!!

This is my experience with Excel. I contacted the company via the website form & I was contacted the same day to set an appointment for an estimator to come out. The estimator was Bob and he represented his company. He arrived in business casual & in a truck with the company logo. He went straight to work & told us about his company. I liked that he didn’t present me with a billion options & plans and understood that I wanted the basics. He left and I received the estimate about two days later. After authorizing the estimate we received paperwork to proceed.. After two days of not hearing back, I called the company and asked if they had received my paperwork. I was put on hold for a moment and then told that my paperwork had been received and that the work order was about three to four weeks out. I was okay with this, but I was told I would get a call the day BEFORE they were to arrive to begin work. So three and a half weeks went by and I called the company again just to see where I was. This was on a Monday. The receptionist told me I was within three orders and to expect a call towards the end of the week. I received the call on Tuesday and was told they were to be out first thing Wednesday. I had to work but I did have trusted people swing by a couple of times to keep an eye on things. I also did get off early that day to see some of the work myself. The crew didn’t show until EARLY AFTERNOON! If you could call it a crew. This crew consisted of two men in a car. These men were not in uniform or even in some sort of company clothes. They appeared as two men that they picked off the street. Their car was in the same scenario. If that wasn’t enough to send some red flags there was a woman in the vehicle SLEEPING! She stayed in the car throughout the day and only emerged at the end of the day to haphazardly sweep a magnet to pick up nails. When I arrived to view the progress the men gave me unnerving stares. No one greeted me, introduced themselves, explained that they came from Excel roofing, NOTHING! This whole crew seemed very sketchy. At the end of the first day, I was having some serious second thoughts. However, I decided to let things ride. As long as I got a new roof, right? The second & third day proved more fruitful. They actually showed up with more people!. And the sleeping girl was back doing stuff. After all said and done, the roof was on & looks great! But that’s not the end of it. One of the big things Bob (the estimator if you remember) praised is that they pick up the nail and do a darn good job of doing it. Holy crud, NO! My house was on vehicle quarantine for a week and a half as we brought our own magnet through. I know you can’t measure nails as such, but we filled a three gallon bucket with them. They were even in the gutters which Bob told me they would clean out. I’m not even going to go into much detail over how much yard debris there was. Let’s just say four weeks later I’m still cleaning it up. I got the bill via email and I did send the check off via USPS Priority for the tracking & insurance. I did get a confirmation email from Excel that my check was received & process. I WISH I WAITED TO PAY. Part of my estimate that Bob provided was a Wind Mitigation ReportI waited a week after my roof was done and called the company. I was told Scott was in charge of doing those and that he would get to it shortly. Week FOUR is now here. I called today at 9am and the receptionist sounded shocked that I didn’t receive my report. I was was told that Scott was going to send it out today. I called back around 3pm to see how that was coming along and was told that Scott was out and will email it as soon as he gets home. I did ask if Scott could contact me once he emailed it out. Currently it is 9pm Thursday night. Scott has NOT emailed the report and he has NOT contacted me. Getting contact back from this company is HORRIBLE! I hope that this review will make it to Scott so he can be made aware of this situation.

Had the pleasure of driving Robert while he was on vacation in Charleston. He was a stand up individual who requested my address so he could send a tip at a later time. And he did! That does not happen very often. That shows a man of his word and a business that will treat their customers the way they deserve to be treated. Would recommend Excel Roofing to anyone.

Exceptional company from the sales associate Robert, to the receptionist Denise, and all the way to the crew. They provided us with great customer service and fair pricing with the most professional team which allowed us to easily narrow our selection between them and 4 other companies. UPDATE: I was quite unhappy when I found out, that after the roof repair was done by Excel, that I needed the whole roof replaced. I was unhappy because I asked them to tell me if the rest of the roof looked ok. I found out my roof needed replacement from a certified home inspector. Long story short, we voiced our disappointment in the email to them. Stating that it was not right that we paid for a repair, when we were just going to have it ripped right back off for a whole roof repair. The company reimbursed us the FULL amount of money though. Because the owner went out of his way to make amends, I feel that I would go to them for a roof. The owner was on vacation at the time, that's why things went a little haywire at first. But this company did the right thing by apologizing and reimbursing the money. Thank you Excel.

Excel Roofing Company has been an excellent company to work with. They have done eight complete roofs for us and we are 100% satisfied. Each time we call Excel they waste no time to meet us out at the job site personally, assess the job thoroughly and return a quote almost immediately. The office staff is top notch and they are always prompt with any questions or concerns that arise. The roofers work extremely hard, they are always professional, polite and they work efficiently until the job is totally complete. Their prices are always very fair and I truly have had nothing but a wonderful experience with every part of their company.

I will continue using Excel Roofing Company for every job because it makes our company run more efficiently and I know I never have to second guess their quality of workmanship.

Horrible -sent 2 workers(hardly spoke english , no company name on van, No one from company every came by to check on work or tell me when completed or that some xtra wood was needed. I was home these 3 days . Had concerns , took owner 2 weeks to arrive- agreed some things were not right- never returned to fix- i payed for the roof after going to their office- never got a certificate of completetion- my only payment proof is the canceled check. I had the issues fixed by other means . Tired of hearing excuses or promises- expect if a roof issue arrived im on my own- TIRED OF EXCUSES- SAD I HAD TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES.

I recently had to have a repair done to my roof for my insurance company. My insurance company gave me 2 weeks to get this job completed and I ended up with 4 other roofing contractors providing quotes. Excel roofing went above and beyond the call of service. They showed up on time and completed the job before my deadline, they also matched any quote I received from other companies. I have dealt with many contractors before in my life and they were the most professional team in my opinion. For a company to be given a deadline, to match a quote and also show up on time in professional business attire you cant ask for anything more. I would HIGHLY recommend using them for any of your roofing needs. A++ company

excel is one of the most professional companies i have had the pleasure of doing business with. great customer service before and after the completion of my roof. Scott the owner came out and did the estimate himself and answered every questions i had. his crews are very experienced and take the time to do it right and also did a great job of protecting my landscaping as well. would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof or a general contractor.

The quality of work and knowledge of the owner, Scott is impeccable. Scott is not some shady roofing salesman that is going to scam you into putting a roof on when not needed. He actually told me neighbor that called him out that they were good for 5 more years and to not waste their money. As a realtor, I have had Scott put on a roof every other month on a house, do repairs monthly and he is the only roofer I trust. They are very busy but have patience to get the best because he gives attention to detail in every job. He knows roofs and repairs.

Update: 2yrs later had a few leaks after hurricane Mathew came through. Denise answered the phone promptly and only two days later I had guys on site! That speaks volumes as they fit me in on warranty work when they could have had their guys out chasing new customers after the storm. Glad I picked excel, they really do stand behind their work.

Scott and his back office team were always responsive when I contacted them by phone or email. The bid was on time and low pressure. Scott took the time to draft up multiple bids with various shingle products so that I could easily compare three different competitive bids equally. The price point hit the mark and result was fantastic.

I love my new roof! At my first meeting (Estimate), with the owner Scott Sorensen I was presented with a folder that contained copies of his licensure and certificate of liability insurance. In addition to that, information on different roof surfaces and types so I could make a sound decision. Since replacing my roof was a first, I appreciated that he took the time to go over everything with me and was able to answer my questions without a sweat. Folks, I had a list of FAQs that I had memorized. LOL. His employees showed up on time, worked hard, and was professional at all times. One week ago Thursday I called this company for an estimate. Rather than setting an appointment the receptionist asked me to email my request. I found that to be odd but I did so anyway. After receiving no response I sent a second email which was responded to by the owner Scott. He told me that he would come out to look at the project possibly on Friday but definitely by Monday or Tuesday however, he never came nor called. I called the office on Wednesday and was assured that he would contact me but it has been a week now and still nothing. A five star rating means very little if you can not provide good customer service. If Excel Roofing can not provide good service before the job starts, how good would the service have been after they had my money..? I will consult a different roofing company for my current and future projects.

Excel Roofing did a great job on the re-roof of my rental property. They were very professional when dealing with their office personal. This was important to me because I was managing the property from out of state. The estimated cost and timeline for the work was the most competitive between the contractors I spoke with. They gave many options for material and products to choose from. The job took three days and my tenants told me the crew was respectful to their needs and did a great job cleaning up during that time. The only drawback to the experience was the timeframe from when the contract was signed to when the work began. It was estimated to begin in two to three weeks when in reality it began in five weeks. Weather played a part in that process.

Speaking as a property manager of 15+ years in both residential and commercial I can vouch for Excel Roofing all the way! Scott is a man of his word and a great communicator. The heavy rains we get here in Florida can overload any roof and upset many Tenants. I began using Excel approximately a year ago and he has shielded me from many headaches. I find them to be professional, honest, and very reasonably priced. They has been the only roofer I have used since last summer from patches to replacements Excel is my go to roofer!!!

Had a very difficult location discovered when we saw a large drip stain on garage ceiling. Single craftsman who was courteous, consistent in work habit, and totally confident it would NEVER leak again.

Great Experience and highly recommended. Had a leaking skylight and they were actually able to get somewone out to give an estimate the same day (I was lucky). I am a USN Chief and currently deployed. I was in a bind with the insurance of my home and the age of the roof. After waiting for other companies to gather quotes I was running out of time. Then I called Excel Roofing and they went to my house the next day and gave me a quote thousands of dollars less than the only other company that bothered to check. I had Excel do the roof and they finished it in less than a week even when work had to stop for rain. They are very helpful and considerate especially to service members. I recommended them to my real estate agent and would recommend them to anyone else.

Rehabbing our house, I have met all kinds of contractors. Excel Roofing Contractors rises to the top like cream. I called for a roof repair estimate and within 20 minutes I had an estimator at my house. He came to the door with copies of business licenses, insurance and product information. He was dressed in a company shirt and truck that identified him as an Excel employee. This made me feel much more comfortable about letting him inside my home. I was very impressed with his professionalism. He gave me a great price and within 2 days the work was done exactly the way I wanted it. I will recommend Excel Roofing Contractors to anyone.

I would not recommend wasting your time with Excel Roofing. It took several calls to their office number, over several days, before I could even get an estimator to call me back. The estimator promised he would call me back when he was available to come out and look at my leaking roof, however, after a week not hearing from him I tried to reach out to him to make sure he had not forgotten about me. I left several messages on his voicemail but he never returned any of my calls. I guess they’re too busy to bothered by customers. Judging by some of the other reviews it sounds like they do good work but their customer service is AWUFUL. If you ignore your customers, they’ll eventually go away!!

Scott and his team just finished installing a new roof on our bungalow in the Avondale area of Jacksonville. I've worked with many contractors and I'm not the easiest to please. So when someone gets 5 stars or an excellent rating, they've truly earned it from me. Great job all the way around. Excellent customer service, consistent level of communication (which was important since I'm in another city currently), finished on time, everything cleaned up as promised and at the price quoted. Would highly recommend to anyone.

After several very bad experiences with other roofing companies it was great to find Excel. Scott and his crew were able to locate the source of the leak in our roof that no one else seemed to be able to find. The job was done right the first time, and the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. No stray roofing nails to puncture tires and add to the cost! Their customer service is first rate as well. If Scott is not available to answer your call, (and he usually is) the office can take care of any questions or get in contact with him and have him call you back. I was pleasantly suprised to speak directly with the owner, who promptly sent a very professional three-man crew out to take care of the issue. They did a nice job and were neat and efficient. What a great company. When part of our ceiling colapsed from an old leak, after all the storms this past few weeks, we were frantic. Every roofing company we called were too busy to get to us, and some didn't even answer the phone. We have a small child with health problems, who doesn't need to be breathing in dust and insulation from the attic. Excel Roofing Contractors told us the were keeping emergency blocks of time open for people like us during the tropical Debbie and they came out and tarped the roof, cleaned up the mess and dried us in until the rain stopped. I think the owner of the compny even had some flooding in his own house but took the time to take care of us to. This is a Christian comp who tries to help people. You won't go wrong calling them.

Scott was very responsive to both phone calls/email/text. He was running late and gave me a courtesy call. He was professional and polite. Scott carefully explained what needed to be fixed and offered a fair price. He finished the job in a timely manner and the work was great. I no longer have leaks in my Florida room roof.
