Exact Roofing & Construction

I hired Exact Roofing to replace my 20-year-old roof in July 2020. I have many issues since, and the owner Todd did not honor the warranty or the contract. Todd did a great job selling me upfront, but the quality of work was subpar, and not only am I having to redo a portion of the roof but there are massive restoration costs.

Update to Todd's Response:
My expectation was for the roof not to leak the first year it was installed. Todd NEVER fixed anything, that is a lie. Todd has lied many times throughout my experience with him and the "manufacturer" is a Malarkey sales rep who is not qualified to make assessments on workmanship. Todd offered me $400 to have my roof fixed through another roofer since he knows his work is not up to par but $400 is nothing compared to what it will cost to fix everything and the fact he voided my warranty. Todd has many excuses why the roof leaked; trees, and electrical conduit that he stated was installed after he did the job but the conduit was there before and in the pictures he sent with his guys on the roof (second photo). I have had 3 other roofers show me pictures where the transition was not done correctly and the leak was due to installer error, not because of trees or electrical conduit, which were both present many years prior. It is also unfortunate in Todd's response below he claims the manufacture voided my warranty, I spoke with them and they did not, in fact Todd never registered the materials which he should have done.

Beware of this guy, he does a good job selling, but the work is subpar and he blames the homeowner for his shoddy work.

It’s a rarity that I say this … I’m thrilled with Todd and his crew at Exact Roofing and Construction and would highly recommend them for any roofing/construction project you have. I had a roof issue that needed to be addressed and completed before closing on my home. After making several calls to roofing companies in the Valley, Todd came through with the professionalism, experience, concern and assurance I was looking for. I would highly recommend Exact Roofing & Construction. From the moment Todd Michaelis arrived for the estimate, he clearly explained the condition of the roof, the options that were available and the timeframe for completion of the job. I had other estimates, some higher and some lower, however, Exact Roofing was referred to me with raving reviews, and after receiving the estimate, given samples to compare and the information/warranty of the workmanship and product, I decided to go with Exact Roofing. Exact Roofing exceeded my expectations, they were early, the crew was CLEAN and completed the job in less than a day. I found no debris around my house, I have never experienced such a cleaner crew of construction workers.

Exact Roofing did an excellent job doing our roof repairs and installing a new roof on our 18 yr old house with a tile roof. His crew worked fast and cleaned up the entire area at the end of each work day. Todd was easy to work with and had great communication throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Exact Roofing and definitely use them again! Todd Michaelis, the owner, is very professional, knowlegeable, punctual and reliable. He has been in the business a very long time and very competitive with his products and prices. I met with numerous roofing company representatives and he is the one I was most impressed with. He took his time going over all the various products and options for repairing my 20yr old roof. His crew worked hard to get the job done in 4 days (4,000 sq ft single-level home) and cleaned up after themselves every day when finished. He also is very competitive with his warranty.

Everything about our experience with Exact roofing was professional and of good quality. Not only did they provide service in a timely manner, but provided it earlier than expected. Awesome experience from start to finish!! Highly recommend Todd and Exact Construction. From the start, as Todd explained the process his company uses when they replace a roof I was impressed with the attention to detail and his willingness to take all the time I needed to get my questions answered. There was absolutely no pressure - in fact even after Todd inspected my 22 year old roof and text me pictures of his inspection he told me that I could probably get a bit more time out of it! He left his packet of information and card and departed without my business as I was going to wait another year. A few weeks later my wife and I decided to be safe and just have the roof done and not tempt the Monsoon Gods this summer! Text Todd and he put me on the schedule for the next week. He used top quality products and his team was amazing. Very professional and focused on the job. The job was started on a Wednesday and Friday called for rain, so Todd doubled the crew and had the work completely done in 2 days. Even if they had not finished, they do the roof in sections and ALWAYS fully complete the sections started during the day. The in-process roof is always weatherproof at the end of each work day. At the end of each day the crew FULLY cleans up - sweeps and uses magnets to find nails that may have fell. Todd's warranty is top notch and I feel VERY confident the work was done right and the roof will last for a very long time. Thanks so much Todd!!

This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a roofer. Todd was kind and really took the time to help me understand what he was going to do. His prices were way better than the other bids I received and His crew was so fast. They really did do an amazing job. I’m so happy how everything turned out. We’re talking from beginning to finish 3 days :) I mean it really doesn’t get any better than that. I highly recommend these guys!

Had them remove the clay roof tiles, install new underlayment, bird stop, flashings and what ever else they do and reinstall the roof tiles. Not only was he about 15% cheaper than the two other quotes i got but i feel they did a superior job of it. Todd is very conscientious concerning his work and appears to be extremely knowledgeable. Might have taken a bit longer than what i was hoping for but I'll take that any day over someone who is quicker and does not pay attention to quality.

I had contacted Todd at Exact Construction in regard to a roof leak. We scheduled an appointment for the following day in which he was on time. He gave me a quote (same day) and explained (in detail) what work would be done. I had received 3 other quotes for the same work. Exacts price was in line with 2 of the other quotes, the 3rd quote was extremely high. During the roof replacement his team showed up on time everyday, they were courteous, they cleaned up at the end of each day, and Todd was constantly in communication with me or my wife to make sure we didn't have any issues or questions. At the end of the replacement, Todd scheduled an appointment to review the work, explain the warranty, and accept final payment. Everything Todd said they would do, they did.

I had my roof re-shingled, as well as my patio roof completely rebuilt. It was done incorrectly by previous owners and was falling apart. I am thrilled with how much better it looks. Todd was very thorough and explained the process completely, answering all my questions so that I was able to feel confident in the project being done right.

We have used Exact Construction on multiple occasions and couldn’t be happier with the results. Todd, the owner, is prompt and professional. He spent extra time diagnosing the issue and after the next storm, he called to check in and make sure we hadn’t had any issues. He takes personal pride in their work, and he ensures it is done with a focus on quality. He communicates well and worked hard to ensure all of our needs were met. His prices are competitive and honest. I could not recommend him more highly.

We were purchasing a house and we hired xroofing/construction to evaluate the roof. Todd, the owner came out on time, went through the roof and explained what needed to be done. We ended up buying the house and had them do the roofing repairs. They did them really quick and as specified with a very reasonable price. We needed to have some plumbing and painting done. Since they were a construction company they were able to do those repairs too. Very friendly and quality comany.

I used Todd and Exact Construction a few years ago to redo the flat roof on my house. I couldn't be happier. I have had 0 problems with the flat roof since the work was performed. Todd used a built-up roofing system that seems to be lasting much better then than what was on there before. I would use Exact Construction for any of my construction issues in the future.
