Ernie's Roofing

Ernie and his crew did a wonderful job on my roof replacement. He is very knowledgeable and has many year of service that enabled him to accurately assess the roof repair/replacement. Ernie worked with the insurance company to more thoroughly understand the repairs and replacement that required additional financial consideration. My new roof is beautiful and was installed in a timely manner. The roofing crew were very professional. I highly recommend Ernie for any roofing issues.

They’re were scheduled to come the morning of one day and showed up a completely different time the next day. We weren’t awake so they started walking all over our neighbors property and started setting up ladders against our house without our permission. They then parked behind our garage and urinated on our garage. We caught them on camera. We finally confronted them and they were incredibly rude, told us we were wrong about the schedule and demanded to be let in our backyard. They told us they couldn’t reschedule because they drove up from Pueblo (evidently Ernie’s is in the subcontracting business now). At that point we told them we had footage of them urinating and told them to take their ladders and get off our property.

When heavy March snow put my pergola at risk of collapse, Ernie spent time to research my exact structure and manage to arrange for someone to come out in the middle of the night (after 1 am still answering calls himself.) All while reassuring me. Amazing service, fair price quoted, will use again!

Ernie was a wonderful to work with. I had a house I was selling and was under a serious time crunch to get a section of gutter replaced. He had his team out the next day to take care of it. It was really a great service. They had a short wait time and scheduled timely for me. I've asked to fix the area of rotten soffit and fascia of my house. The spot is located at about 3.5 floor height, above the walkout area from the basement of my two story house. The technicians fixed it completely and the spot is not noticeable at all now. I am very satisfied with the service and my house is now on the market, getting offers. I would strongly recommend this service.

My AC went out on the hottest day of the year and I was so thankful they were able to get someone out so quickly. Some places we’re quoting a 10 day time frame and they sent someone out that night. He did a great job, very thorough and Complete.

Ernie saved the day! We called him at 9:30 on a Sunday night, on a holiday and he was there right away. We had a basement that was flooding due to a clogged downspout. Without Ernie, im not sure what we would have done. So glad i called him!

Ernies gutter did a partial gutter replacement for me. I was very impressed with how prompt he was at getting back to me on everything. I had an estimate immediately and had some one out within a week. I had to wait over a month to get my estimate from another company. He matched the gutter color and install was quick and easy.

Team was very responsive to our needs. Installation was quick, professional and cost was very reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

This is an updated review of my experience with Ernie and his company. I originally left a 5 star review (still posted on his website, even though I deleted it from Google two years ago) not realizing how things would turn out. Everything did seem great once Ernie was done, until I had repairs that needed attention. I paid him in full not realizing there were problems that needed to be fixed. Mind you, this project was over three years ago so I would say that I have been extremely patient with Ernie to get the necessary repairs fixed. He usually ignored most of my calls, texts, and emails for the most part and just every so often call or respond usually with the same response: "I haven't forgotten about you." In some responses, he would also tell me that my repair job was just too small for him to get a crew out to work on it--ironic since he claims "no job too small" on his website or that he literally can't get any crews to work for him. Funny since I read reviews that have been written within the last three years and obviously he is able to do some jobs--just not on my house... Anyway, I wanted to believe him and, like I said, I was very patient--who wants to wait over 3 years for a repair job?!? I went ahead and called another company that responded and did the repairs right away. Unfortunately, because Ernie was unable to follow through with his word and do maybe an hour long repair job on my house in a timely manner, I'm unable, in good conscience, to recommend his services anymore.

Ernie always answers my calls and completes our companies' gutter work promptly. It's nice to be able to trust in someone's work and integrity.

My Mom and I hired local contractors to do our roof. The overall experience was good. We are very satisfied and happy with all the work done from this roofing company. Keep up the good work guys!

Upon first meeting with Ernie to schedule our roof replacement, he asked for available dates to complete the job. I let him know of upcoming dates that we were going to be out of town and told him that we would like to hold off on replacing our roof until we were back home. Despite my request, Ernie’s crew showed up to drop off materials and complete the roof replacement on the days we were out of town. Instead of being notified by Ernie, i received a message from our neighbors letting us know that roofing materials had been dropped off.

We returned from our trip to materials that should have been thrown away in our yard, a dead lawn from the placement of said materials, and an incomplete job.

After some dispute about being charged for work that was not completed, Ernie threatened to put a lein on our house if we did not pay him, though all we asked him to do was to produce a permit for the work he did that was signed off on by an inspector so we could at least know that the work was legitimate should we decide to sell our home in the future.

We really wanted to support a local, small business for our roof replacement, but instead we were met with broken agreements and threats. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

do not use this company, you get what you pay for. He will not finish the job if you make the mistake of paying before he finishes like I did. Still waiting on the items in my insurance claim to be finished.
He will pretend he’s doing things for you but it’s all for him, a true a-hole. Contacted him for weeks trying to get him to finish the job and he will not respond.
Don’t let him tell you the bad reviews are from all unreasonable customers, he just wants to make as much as he can

Very unprofessional in communication. Took forever to schedule and get my contact information right. Did not call before arrival, just showed up. Then could not communicate with the workers who arrived, as they did not speak English. Then they did not even have all the right materials for the job. Do not recommend.

Absolutely amazing work! Incredible turn around time. I called and had a quote in 20mins. The gutters and downspouts were up and on the home in less than a week after the initial call. I cold called multiple other companies before. That will not happen again. Easy communication, great work, affordable rates, and simple online payment and quote service. Will definitely use them again!

Called Ernie based on online ratings because I had a rusted out gutter over the sidewalk to our front porch. Sent an estimate and had the guys out repairing it in a day! Haven't yet had snow & melting to really test it, but it looks good so far!

I run a contracting/remodeling company and when our gutter subcontractor delayed us 5 weeks, Ernie showed up in 1 day to give us a quote and finished the job in 3. Superb work, easy invoicing, and great communication. Ernie's is the only place we will use for our gutter work from now on.

Wow, Ernie was so accommodating to our situation. We had been trying for months to get a gutter company to come to our home and make repairs caused by a tree falling after a microburst storm. People either didn’t call back or stood us up completely. We finally found Ernie’s gutter who did the job in short order and with a fair price. Ernie did a significant project for our rental. He replaced the roof on the home and garage as well as repair drywall damage inside the house. He and his team did a great job executing the project in a timely manner and kept me informed through the process.

I had a gutter installation on my house by a company called leaf filter.They damaged my siding installed a faulty product and the rain that followed was causing water damage while they wanted me to wait 3 weeks for another fix, while more rain came causing more damage.
I called Ernie and in less than 24 hours he was at my house with a better system and had it installed for a rain that fell less than a couple hours later.He did what no one else could or would do.

I hired Ernie's gutter to replace my roof he's quoted me a good price he was quite knowledgeable about his business and explained himself very well he started the job the day that he said he would the workers were very courteous and the job was done very nice I was very pleased with the work that Ernie's gutter performed everything that we discussed was done I was very pleased everything went very smoothly Bob Lucero

We called Ernie and told him we needed our roof done within two weeks (for insurance purposes) and he was able to make it happen and start our roof within a week. It only took them one day to do the roof and maybe two or three hours to do our gutters. Everything looks amazing! Thanks!

BEWARE! Although Ernie’s Gutter and Roofing has a number of good reviews (these are the ones he shows on his website), he also has quite a few negative ones. Be sure to read all of these before deciding to hire Ernie. I ended up hiring Ernie without first doing so, which was a huge mistake. Also he has a F rating with the BBB even though his website says he has an A rating. Review those complaints as well before considering to hire Ernie. These are the reasons I would never hire him again.
1. Hired to repair May, 2017 hail storm damage. Assured me he was very experienced with insurance companies; took 2 months to finalize estimate, I had to become involved.
2. Multiple grammatical errors along with incorrect wording on his authorization form to start work. Took 3 variations to get it right.
3. Insurance acceptance was on 08/03/17 yet roofing work didn't actually start until 09/22/17. Workers just showed up without any notice.
4. Has very poor communication, follow-up and follow through. Uses automated text response when you call him, which says “Sorry, I’m on the other line I will call you right back”. I would have to wait sometimes days for him to actually call me back. Emails and text messages would also often go unanswered or until I would repeatedly send him the same messages.
5. Ernie’s lack of understanding regarding adding a layer of insulation board to my existing flat roof and his failure to order the right product has left me with remedial work to make the edge of my roof look right. At no point did Ernie ever acknowledge his error or offer to correct this issue.
6. Failed to pull a permit until I requested it. Took 12 days to get a copy of it.
7. Finished all of the roofing work towards the middle of October with gutters and downspouts installed at the end of the first week of November. Didn’t hear back from him until after the first of the year.
8. Finally heard from him in Jan. 2018, where he informed me he noticed he had not sent me a final invoice. When I reminded him the work was not complete and that he still needed to replace my damaged skylights and a few other miscellaneous items he informed me that he decided he wasn't going to do that work and would take the cost off his invoice.
9. Added approximately $5,000 more to the last invoice without advising or reviewing with me. I had to get insurance company to approve it.
10. Provided a list of 12 things (most of them minor items) that need to be done prior to making last payment. He never came out to review these items, never took care of them and threatened to put a lien on my house.
11. One major item on the list was regarding wrinkles that had developed in the flat roof. He never came out to look at this issue and when I asked for the name of the manufacturer of the roofing so I could check with them on if the wrinkles were acceptable, he simply ignored my request and continued with the lien process by sending me by certified mail his latest estimate and a letter of his intent to lien my house.
12. I tried to communicate with Ernie to try and resolve the situation, I even offered to pay a majority of the invoice if he would simply tell me who the manufacturer of the roofing material was. I even reduced my 12 item list down to 3 items. He countered my offer by asking for all but about $2,000 of the invoice and still never provided the name of the roofing manufacturer.
13. I ultimately ended up calling on a roofing expert who advised me that though the wrinkles were fairly obvious they shouldn't cause me problems in the future. After which I made the final payment to Ernie, and although he said the lien had not yet been filed, I have no way of knowing until I have a title check done on my house.
14. In the end Ernie never called for the roofing inspection to close out the permit, I had to do it.
15. A final note, I have not include everything that went wrong or all the issues I had with Ernie.

A hard lesson learned, but I will never again hire someone without first researching them. Best of luck to those that do hire Ernie.

Gutter repair was done quickly in one day. Work was done expertly and results were top notch. Recommend Ernie's Roofing Siding Gutter for anyone needing work.

Homeowners BEWARE!!!! I had the unfortunate experience of meeting Ernie of Ernie’s Roofing. I called him in need of completing a roof certification for a house my wife and I are under contract to purchase. In my initial conversations with Ernie, he told me that the only way for him to come out to do a roof certification was to pay him before he would perform the service. I told him I was fine with that and paid him $182 on Saturday (11/28/17) prior to our discussed appointment on the following Wednesday (11/1/17). On Tuesday (10/31/17), I called and text Ernie to confirm our appointment and Ernie didn’t reply. On Wednesday (11/1/17), I called and text Ernie to confirm our appointment for 11/1/17 between 1pm and 5 pm (the time slot allotted to perform the home the inspection) and he didn’t reply. On Wednesday (11/1/17) and after all the other contractors completed their inspections, I called Ernie and he answered and told me that he had a dentist appointment and that he had already performed the roof inspection; however, it should be noted that he didn’t have access to the interior of the home to inspect the integrity of the trusses, plywood, and shingles, etc. I asked him what kind of shingles were on the roof and he couldn’t tell me and said that it was “in the report.” The certification he sent me was on 10/28/17. If Ernie performed the service on 11/1/17, why did he provide a roof certification to me on 10/28, which is the day I paid him (roughly at 1 pm) and Ernie’s Roofing email, which had the the certification attached, was received at 6 pm. Since the details didn’t add up, I couldn’t rely on the certification Ernie provided and had to hire another roofer to inspect the roof. Surprisingly, the other roofing company didn’t charge me a penny to perform the inspection. In addition, they told me the roof was in terrible shape and that it needed to be replaced. I’ve requested Ernie refund my $182 dollars and I’m response he insulted me and hung up on me. I’ll be reporting him to the better business bureau. If you are looking for a roofer, id recommend looking elsewhere. Please comment if you’d like a suggestion for another roofer. Good luck homebuyers and homeowners!!!

I'm very pleased with the job Ernie's did! After getting two other bids, I went with Ernie's. He was responsive to my requests and his crew was quick and efficient. He made sure I got exactly what I wanted and had the job done without delay.

Worst decision you could make is to hire Ernie. I will add more when there is time, but 9 months later, my siding is still warped and messed up and Ernie can't seem to answer a call. When he does answer, he promises he will come out and fix the problem but never shows up. I'll upload pictures and more details soon, but DO NOT USE ERNIE'S COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE TIME, MONEY, AND YOUR SANITY! BBB complaint has been sent and is in process.

EDIT: BBB complaint issued and he responded that he will replace the siding within 15 days. It has now been over 2 months. Still no word from Ernie. Will have to reopen the BBB complaint.

ANOTHER EDIT: 2nd BBB complaint filed with no response from Ernie FOR 3 WEEKS. Now filing a small claims court lawsuit. BUYER BEWARE! JUST CHECK HIS BBB RATING AND THAT WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING! SERIOUSLY GUYS... TERRIBLE ALL AROUND!

Ernie was very easy to work with from the estimate to completion of the job. I would recommend him for any roof/gutter service you would need. I will use him again for any future roofing needs.

Ernie was very pleasant and helped me with exactly what I needed. I called, left a message and he called right back. Ernie took the time to research and find out how to help my situation. I received an estimate quickly and he was available in the time I needed!

I hired Ernie to replace a flat roof in 2012. The roof replacement seemed to go well, but we started experiencing roof leaks one year later. He responded quickly to my first call and patched the leak. We experienced another leak less than a year from then. Again, he responded when he had time on his calendar and too patch the leak. Over the course of the next two years, we experienced consistent leaking from the same location every 6 months or so. When he did come out to repair the roof, he was always trying to sell me on thousands more of work to put a bandaid on the poor quality roof he installed. Ernie became slower and slower to return my calls, despite the roof still being under warranty. When the last leak surfaced and a five foot by 3 foot portion of our ceiling collapsed, Ernie refused to return my phone calls and texts. I brought another roofing company out to assess the job. Every seal on our flat roof installed by Ernie was failing! In addition, he had not graded our flat roof properly to the back gutter system. This created a belly in our roof, directly over our leaking spot with the caved in ceiling. This roof was less than five years old and had pools of water collecting under the failing roof seams. Needless to say, due to the abundant inadequacies, we had to install a brand new roof and properly grade the system. Do not hire this man for a flat roof install. There are other reputable companies out there in the greater Denver area. Don't waste your time or money on his company.
