If you have J Channels on your roof they will not reattach! I had no idea what a J Channel was until I had my roof replaced. This company did not reattach them and could have caused severe water damage and pest infestation. When I called to ask Erick why they didn't complete this task I was yelled at and called names on the phone. Erick FIRST DENIED ANY WRONG DOING , and said J Channels were part of the siding and not the roof. Being a first time home buyer and with no knowledge of roofs or siding I called a reputable roofing company whose family business has been operating in the Twin Cities for many decades (I did not use this company because Eric's bid came in lower-BIG MISTAKE) and they confirmed to me IT'S COMMON PRACTICE to reattach J Channels after putting on the new shingles.

Erick was not willing to pay the cost of reattaching the J Channels. He further argued that the roof passed inspection and that is all he is required to do. After all the back and forth I called the St. Paul City Inspector and he confirmed their inspection does not include inspection of the J Channels being reattached so even though the roof passed inspection they don't look for J Channels anyway. I would have never known they were missing until I had damage or a friend with experience in siding to tell me (which is how I found out). The Inspector then told me Erick had CHANGED HIS STORY and was now CLAIMING THERE WERE NO J CHANNELS TO REATTACH. Basically the Inspector said it was a civil matter; a case of he said, she said.

This is very frustrating as I paid Erick's company close to $10K. After trying to reach Erick to negotiate a compromise he sent me a text message threatening to report me to the EPA because I have asbestos siding on my home. I'm not sure how this guy sleeps at night. Quick side note, the crew also drinks on the job. BEWARE of low estimates as they often come with a price!

This company has done numerous roofing jobs for my real estate clients. They do a great job and are very reasonably priced.

First company I call when we need to get a roof redone.
