Very disappointed. Hardly any vendors compared to past years. Presentation seemed slim and only geared towards very beginner riders or small children.
One event was so late starting and no announcing what was happening and when it would start....so I left after waiting 34 minutes past start.
One last comment....very little safety measures in place for moving horses between arenas ... Horse walking through food area and no one making sure by standers knew what to do.... no help for horse handlera. Just an accident waiting to happen.

Equine Affaire is a wonderful organization to take your family & friends. I went here in 2019 I believe for a school trip from Greene County Career Center. Great shows & good-looking horses.

it was a wonderful first time attending. The clinics and presentations were very informative. Lauren Sammis was definitely a favorite. Plenty of options for different styles to attend. Lots of shopping of course! The vendors were courteous and helpful! Two days was enough for me to attend. Fantasia was very entertaining!

My family is going to leave a five star. This was our first time there, but we enjoyed it.I'm a first time horse owner so yes I would like to see more clinics based on people that are new to Equines and need to learn about their animal hiw tos, what to look for etc. In response, The food is the vendor's price is not your choice so I don't know why people are complaining to you about the prices.Vendors like that are at all carnivals. have you seen the price of groceries in the store? Of course , They're gonna pass it down to the customer. I enjoyed the vendors some offered awesome show only prices! There's a few I think didn't need to be there. That had nothing to do with horses or animals. But they're like that, even at motorcycle shows and home/garden shows I've been to, there's always a couple odd balls. I'm a 501 C3 dog rescue registered in Ohio, so it was awesome seeing adoptable rescue horses there. :)

The Clinicians were top notch. Different ways of presenting gave us different perspectives. VERY GRATEFUL TO ALL.
Thanks also to the participants.
Shopping, shopping, and more shopping!
Schmidt's Sausage Haus! OMGOSH!
Unfortunately, I didn't attend the Fantasia .
" Drive a Draft" THANKS Whispery Pine Percherons - Toni Bolognie, Sampson, & ? ( I forgot his name). Kellie and Sam too.
Versatility competition a must see also.
THANKS TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS

Great event - prices keep going up (entry, parking, food) which is the only reason to keep it at 4 stars. I do miss all the artsy booths they used to have. I can only imagine it is no longer affordable for the smaller artists.

This was my first year at Equine affair and I absolutely loved it! I learned so much from pat parelli to take home and work on with my own horse. I also found my new 4 legged soul mate in the adoption isle and took him home with me so equine affair was absolutely amazing for me this year :) I'll definitely be back next year

I go to Equine Affaire every year but this was my first time bringing my horse. Everyone was great, both helpers and fellow exhibitors. This was a huge accomplishment for me and my horse!
Fantasia was great and the clinicians were too- I definitely went home with some great homework!

I have attended many of the Massachusetts based events. I feel the vendors were mostly for the western rider this year. Very few quality vendors for English tack and apparel. Disappointed as I was looking for several items of tack and to replace my Dublin boots that were purchased there several years ago.
I was very interested in the Steffen Peters clinic but found he could not be clearly heard and understood. Many were walking away stating the same concern. Microphone or speaker quality ?
And lastly the fantasia also very disappointing. Two riders billed as dressage were really doing jumping, not dressage but for a few movements at the entrance of their demonstration. The two drill teams excelled.
I also felt the young ladies doing stunt riding sent a very bad message to a very impressionable group of young aged riders, they wore no helmets d their heads were bouncing close to the ground during certain stunts. Really quite dangerous.
Over all I will have to think long and hard before purchasing tickets again next year

I love connecting with the horse community from across the country at this event. I can't believe it has been 25 years. I love having you in Springfield, MA. Here's to another 25 years!!!!

Love it! This was my 25th year! Excellent event, lots of unique clinicians from all specialties under one roof! Can't wait for 2024!

This was my fifth year going to Equine Affaire (2023) and it did not disappoint! My best friend and I look forward to it every year. This year the breed barn was full, the vendors excellent (we got some great stuff) and the food was delicious! The whole thing was so well run. We look forward to coming back next year and the year after and the year after that… and so on! Thank you Equine Affaire!!!

I thought it was great. Only got to go one day this year but everyone was nice, the food was good, clinicians were good and had a ball shopping!

I was disappointed with the lack of trailers with living quarters, there were none.

This is one of the venues i expect to be able to view living quarters. I was told by dealers to look on line... i wouldn't by a house by viewing it on line why would I buy a living quarters trailer by viewing online.

Loved it I was on a 7+ year hiatus and returned this year to West Springfield Massachusetts with my best friend of 13 years and counting…I will be back next year in 2024 then return to California after that so here’s to year two in 2024 I’m so excited for next year I hope to see Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling or Alycia Burton and her horse Classic Goldrush “Goldrush” and perhaps have FREE Breyer Stablemates painting for the the youth/adults all weekend long!!!

Easy to get in! Purchase tickets online and its quick to walk right in. Fantasia was amazing this year! Very classy and professional! Great program with maps and schedules! I think this was one of the best years yet and I've been going for many years!

Offered to volunteer last year for the whole event in exchange for a spot to park my camper. Was told I’d have to pay for that. So yeah…if they can’t give me a 30’ piece of asphalt to park my motorhome I’m certainly not giving you 5 days of free labor. Shameful. Treat your volunteers and staff better.

It's been a couple of years since we've been here. Really enjoyed the versatile horse and rider competition but to be honest the music during the competition was to loud and totally unnecessary! I came to see horse and rider not to hear the radio. Not to mention the MC told them to turn it off if the horses acted up and they didn't. Also we could hardly hear about the horses. Won't be back.

This review is specifically for the Pfizer Fantasia 2022. We attend the Fantasia yearly and highly enjoy it. This year we really disappointed the 3 of the segments were done by the same family/group. They had a nicely trained horse but the rest of their performances were about dressing up and dancing around. It had nothing to do with good horsemanship. Very disappointing.

What a disappointment! Making big profits is the focus of EA these days. While it used to bring in quality, professional trainers who helped educate horse owners, evidently very few will come anymore. While there were a few quality speakers, everything is about kicking up prices to increase profits for the organizers. Doubt I'll be back after attending for decades and recommending it to hundreds.

I've enjoyed Equine Affaire for fourteen years! I was introduced to the event through my 4-H group as a volunteer and ever since I've been attending and loving the show. If you're a horse owner or even just an enthusiast you won't be disappointed by what Equine Affaire has to offer. There are tons of clinics on varying disciplines always covering topics you want to hear. I've always loved that Equine Affaire doesn't just bring the few popular clinicians everyone loves, but they also seem to strive to bring new and upcoming ones as well. Aside from the educational aspects, there is PLENTY of shopping to be had as well. You can pretty much find anything and everything horse related at one of their many exhibitor's booths. There's also fun entertaining aspects such as the Ride With A Pro, Versatile Horse & Rider Competition, the Breed Pavilion, and even just perusing the many horses in the barn. If that isn't all enough to fill your day, in the evenings they have the Fantasia! It's just a really neat musical performance with horses. The acts are always fun and different and you can see the appreciation for all disciplines in it. There just really isn't much more you could ask for if you love horses.

i am literally SHOCKED at the negative reviews! WOW,~SERIOUSLY UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have been to EA for the last 8 years and have NEVER been disappointed! From the Clinicians to Fantasia . If you attend and find Fantasia and the Clinicians not good enough you must be ready to start your own AE and be a Clinician! EA for me is about getting my head in the game again after winter in muddy ohio~ Ever reminding me that there is a major difference between being assertive and aggressive toward my horses. Maybe negative review peeps should go to the circus instead of EA~ I think thats more what up your alley. Do you even own a horse?

I've attended the Equine Affair over many years at the Columbus Ohio location and have noticed that each year the quality of the horses and the exhibitors is going downhill. One recent year a group of rag tag young teenagers riding (bareback)severely underweight, mixed breed Pintos was one of the attractions. Fewer and fewer truly interesting groups/breeds are showing up.

Last year, 2015 Fantasia was a disappointment, even worse than the year before. With the exception of Guy McLean and one other act, the show seemed provincial and lacked the international favor it will need to stay popular. If I wanted to travel across the country to see an equine show, I sure don't want to see a lot of local Ohio acts and to be honest the Canadian cowgirls are becoming boring. Is this because they lost their big sponsor and the new sponsor doesn't provide as much money?

To succeed, they will have to bring back the big international trainers and horses. This year I noticed that one other trainers who will be there giving clinics is a well know horse abuser who recently lost most of his wealthy clients. Stop bringing in horse people whose names are stained. We want to see more quality breeds and better quality clinicians.
