Paul gave me a detailed estimate and kept that pricing. He and his crew showed up on the agreed morning and started around 8 AM. By the end of day they had removed the old screwed down metal roof on my log home with porch and attached 2 car garage, installed plywood onto the garage roof and installed 95% of all of the new asphalt roofs and flashings. A couple guys came the next morning and finished off the roofs and thoroughly cleaned up all debris before noon. I have since gone thru 2 thunderstorms and have had no leaks. Paul was very knowledgable and gently guided me in the decisions that needed to be made to solve my roof problems.

We had had a pine railing leading from our lake house down steep stairs to the lake that was all rotted out. Encore (Paul and team) replaced it in a day with beautifully stained white cedar sourced in Vermont with wrought iron hardware. See photos.

Our roof was in disrepair. Paul and his crew provided a detailed estimate of the work needed. They showed up on time, stripped the old asphalt roof, inspected the deck and made the necessary repairs. They then installed a fully adhered underlayment followed by a 50 year architectural shingle. They even reflashed our chimney at no additional cost. Paul and the Encore team did a great job adding snow guards to my roof. Very knowledgeable on the options and what worked best for me on my standing seam metal roof. Reasonable price. On time and as planned.

We had a great experience with Paul and team. Not only does our roof look fantastic, the work was completed smoothly and efficiently.

One of our primary motivations for redoing the roof was our concern about visible mold at multiple points along the roof line inside the house. We spoke in detail with Paul about how well his company could remove the mold; he ensured us that this is one element of his specialty, and was in touch with us about the mold as the work unfolded. (He also gave us tips for removal of the visible mold on the interior.)

Importantly, Paul was very transparent about pricing from the get-go - we knew that it was going to be expensive due to the size of the roof and quality of work we wanted. He was also clear with us that he had little experience working with deck houses, which have a unique roof construction compared to other types of homes. Therefore he performed extensive research before beginning the project and collaborated with a deck home expert to ensure he understood the roof system well before beginning.

During the course of the work, Paul shared with us some important findings - a prior re-build of the roof system was completed poorly which contributed to improper ventilation and significant moisture collection between the top of the roof and the interior of our ceiling…hence, the mold interior. Here is a synopsis using Paul’s words: several dynamics were involved from poor initial installation and design then the [prior] re-roof that took place with the existing asphalt shingle system. We pulled a core sample to verify and confirm. We then removed the entire roof system to original deck house roof core and started fresh with brand new internals. Deck was treated with a bio friendly mold treatment, new moisture barrier, 4” of ISO board and a forever heavy gauge concealed fastener warrantied steel roof. He shared pictures with us throughout the project.

Due to the unique roof construction of deck houses, we did have some debris fall through into the house across the period that they were on the roof. When we let Paul know he offered to pay for a thorough cleaning.

The project was completed quite swiftly. My husband notes that one evening the team stayed late - well into the dark - to get ahead of an impending snow storm. I also appreciate that the team covered our landscaping with heavy tarping to protect the plants in our garden.

Contractors are best judged on how they respond to issues, own up to mistakes, and ultimately, make things right. Unfortunately, in my case, Encore Metal Roofing and Construction has failed at all of these things. My new metal roof installed by Encore required snow bars which were necessary to prevent snow buildup in front of our main door. Paul assured me this was the way to go to avoid any code or safety issues entering or exiting the house. The roof started showing signs of problems a few months after the initial install. I immediately notified Paul and sent pictures. He opted not to address the issue. By the end of the winter there were 10-12 rips or holes in the roof due to the faulty installation. Paul did come out and patch those holes. Since then, for the past year and a half, I have been promised quotes on options for a permanent, properly installed fix which I have never received. To make matters worse, I have recently learned that a portion of the ridge was covered with underlayment during Encore’s original installation blocking ventilation and creating a moisture and potential mildew problem. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for any metal roofing projects.

Like many Lakes Region summer homes, ours has had many rooms added piecemeal over many years. As a result, our roofing profile resembles a jumble of pitches, valleys, and mismatched ridges; in other words: a roofer’s nightmare. Encore Metal Roofing & Construction welcomed the challenge of stripping the existing shingles, repairing and replacing sheathing as needed, and installing a waterproofing membrane and ultimately, a beautiful heavy gauge standing seam metal roof. When replacing some of our siding, Paul suggested a Boral product, and though not cheap, we don’t regret using it. Throughout, Paul was generous with his time and advice and was always available. The crew was highly skilled, professional, and friendly. The worksite was left clean and tidy during the work and at the end. Without question, Encore has allowed us to feel we’ve extended the life of this unusual home. We heartily recommend this contractor. I'll post a few aerial photos, soon.

The BEST decision I could have made was to hire Encore Metal Roofing! This says a lot considering I am not even done with the project yet. I am out of state for winters and am building a summer cottage by myself in NH. I am not a carpenter and needed a metal roof installed (while still out of state). I sent 3 company's photos along with request for a quote. Paul was the only one to go to the actual site and called me while standing there. No response from one and the other quoted me off the pictures. Did I say that I am not a carpenter, so the bldg. is more of a parallelogram and not square, which I was up front about when asking for the quotes. The other company's quote, although lower than Encore's quote, meant that when they actually got on site, there would be "extras" for the squareness factor. Paul was upfront and offered suggestions on several methods and explained why he was making the suggestion and at no time did i feel any pressure and made all the decisions. Being a little guy and not a contractor, he fit me in right away and made me feel as my project was the only one that mattered. They sent progress pictures to me as well. When I returned to NH, the roof was as good or better than the pictures and I am more than totally pleased.....Encore went above and beyond what I ever expected, it was a pleasure working with them and a pleasure looking at my beautiful roof. I would insist you hire them and recommend that you do not go anywhere else. 9 out of 10 on my scale. (nobody gets a 10)

We had Paul and his crew turn a all screen porch into a 4 season enclosed sun room, replace 2 decks and add a double sliding glass door on our full log cabin. I used Encore Metal Roofing for a major deck renovation and covered porch decking project that was complicated by the need to remove crush blocks from every vertical support under the covered porch roofs. My home is a custom log home with wrap around covered porches and large open deck. The crush blocks needed to be removed as all the logs are finally settled and dried, and the roofs needed to be "let down" to encourage proper shedding of rain. Paul Morrow and his crew came to the project on time, on schedule, and with commitment, had all the decking removed, the structure was leveled, and decking replaced in short order. The total number of days for this enormous undertaking was 5 days, start to finish. Paul is a professional. He is a man of his word. His handshake is his commitment. He means business and has a fun way of working through any issues that may arise throughout the project. I had other contactors here for estimates...some were interested in shortcuts, and some ran away from this project....NOT PAUL! Paul Morrow understood every detail of what was needed. His estimate was reasonably accurate. If you're lucky enough to have Paul's help, I can easily say you won't be disappointed, and you may just find a new friend in the process. I called Paul Marrow in urgent need of a roof repair to prevent interior damage. Paul was very busy, but he managed to get the repair done before there was major damage. I was grateful because it was a small job and he could have easily not taken the job, but he did . He kept me informed every step of the way. able to repair a large rotted area and duplicated a 50 year old roof detail
on the soffit even though the material was no longer available anywhere. He even
cleaned up some old chimney blocks what were laying around the
