CONSUMER BEWARE!

Elysian Energy did some work at my home a few years ago through a state program. Though there were some glitches, overall, I was grateful and somewhat satisfied with the work at the time.

UNTIL I NOTICED MY CEILING STARTING TO COLLAPSE!!

One of the things done was getting the roof replaced, but not until I emptied my attic of all stored items, Elysian removed the floor boards in the attic, and they blew tons of messy insulation into the attic. Basically, I lost the use of my attic. Elysian was the last one up there.

When I finally reached someone at Elysian, they told me I was out of warranty and they pretty much dismissed my concern about a collapsing ceiling, which I feel is the result of that junk insulation they blew in that got heavy over time and is now putting stress on my ceiling below the attic.The company that installed the roof- R&J Contractors, tells me my roof is not under warranty, whereas Elysian says I AM still under roof warranty.

They are acting all righteous because the one year warranty has expired and they assume ZERO responsibility, but the word ‘recall’ comes to mind. Cars and other things are often recalled beyond the warranty period if it’s found that faulty materials were used and/or improperly installed.

I have asked for specs of the insulation used, and so far, have not heard back. They say they’re not required to keep records beyond three years, even though it was a state funded program for which I assume ELYSIAN was well compensated.

BEWARE if they tell you they will insulate your house, but you must forfeit your attic as they remove your attic floor boards and blow tons of messy little pieces of insulation in there!

Your house is insulated, but your ceiling may collapse after the warranty expires!

Edit to add: my ceiling DID collapse several months after I begged Elysian to have a look at my separating ceiling (photos above). What. A. MESS! Thankfully, no one was in the room at the time. Messy, dirty, cough inducing insulation particles all over the room. Couldn’t even open the door. Dealing with insurance now.

Funny thing (not haha) - suddenly, Elysian ‘found’ all the documentation that my insurance company requested - the very documents they told me they didn’t have and were not required to hold beyond 2 or 3 years.

And just yesterday (7/5/24) the ceiling in the other room collapsed!! Can’t open the door. Drywall and the horrible blown insulation ALL OVER THE ROOM!!!

New insurance claim, and now my insurance premiums will probably be unaffordable if they don’t drop me altogether.

If only Elysian stood by their work, warranty or not, and if only they cared about very valid concerns expressed by past clients, I wouldn’t have all this to deal with now.

Again: CONSUMER BEWARE!

I highly recommend Elysian Energy. We had extensive insulation work done by them. Everyone we worked with was excellent, including Jose, Jeremy, Julio, and Sunita. They were all competent, trustworthy, and respectful. My wife and I are glad we worked with them.

They installed some cellulose insulation in my attic though a city program and have been impossible to get since then. I have contacted them numerous times with concerns about mold in this cellulose, but when they actually return my calls they are sending me to some other companies. No follow up or guarantee of their work whatsoever. On top of it, this other company that came to inspect the situation could not get into the attic because Elysian glued the attic door so that now it cannot be opened without possibly breaking it. And again, they refuse to do anything about the work they did. I'd avoid them at any cost, and am angry that the city promoted them to its citizens.

I had the pleasure of having this company do my weatherization work. The crew was on time, professional, friendly, but most of all extremely thorough. There was an issue with some measurements (no fault of theirs) and they adjusted and worked extra long and hard to get the job done. They moved things for me that was probably outside of the scope of their responsibility but they were kind enough to do it for me. They left the house cleaner than they found it. Everything was explained thoroughly, safety was there priority, and everything promised to me was completed. I could not be happier with the service provided to me and would happily recommend them to anyone.

I would like to share my amazing experience with this great company and outstanding team! They worked on my house diligently for a week. There were issues that weren’t even their responsibility but they found solutions for and assisted me with. Their team was competent, caring, professional and polite. When my project hit a wall, they got out of their way to help me. They saw that my AC unit needs to be replaced as it’s malfunctioning and was causing excessive electric bills. They put me in touch with the right agency and assisted me with the whole process by going the extra mile and submitting even my paperwork for me. I will be eternally grateful for their help and surreal professionalism.

I'm glad I was recommended to Elysian Home Energy. I started by contacting them for a complete home energy audit, which was 75% covered by a Maryland grant. Elysian's customer service reps were very professional and helpful in explaining how the process worked, and also in hooking me up with the grant to cover almost all of the cost.

Elysian's engineers showed up promptly and went over my home from top to bottom, answering all my questions during the process. They worked with me to draw up a proposal for how to improve my home's air sealing, ventilation system, and insulation. I was provided with a detailed itemized proposal with the cost broken out for each task, and Elysian was flexible in accommodating me on which I wanted to opt for and which I preferred to skip for now.

After that experience, I felt confident about having them proceed with the improvements to my home. The crew who came to do the work were very professional and also very kind and through in explaining all the steps being performed. They were fantastic craftsmen, very careful and respectful of my house, and did extra things for me along the way, such as removing some wasp nests and helping me finish up the replacement of some recessed lighting.

After the work, Elysian was great with following up, filing for my rebates with my utility, and providing me with the documentation for it. All in all, it was a very pleasant, professional, and reasonably priced experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mariana and her team on several projects. They were very patient with trying to understand what we needed when we did not know what we needed. they came out to the site numerous times to review what was best for us. once the contracts were signed, they worked efficiently and quickly and came on line with the budgets.

First let me say the people at Elysian are very friendly and helpful, I dealt with Angel and Chase frequently who were able to help me on everything.
Elysian Energy came to my home in the fall of 2015 their assessment of my home was very thorough. The work done however, was exceptional as far as weatherization. The improvements made decreased my BGE bill but also brought my older row home to code in several key areas that I was completely unaware of when I bought my home.
I cannot begin to list the things this company fixed, corrected or replaced, from my basement to my roof.
If you want an energy audit and you want your repairs done, this is the company to do your work.

I was connected to Elysian Energy through the Pepco rebate program in relation to creating an energy savings program for 55K sf office building. This was a long, drawn out and involved process, which was in many if not most ways my fault. The people at Elysian hung in there with me to the very end. Elysian created the designs to upgrade our parking garage & lot and stairwell lighting to LED's with motion detectors. We also modified the faucets throughout the building with flow restrictors and put all coffee brewers & water coolers on timers. I don't know yet what the ultimate energy savings will be, but I am sure it is substantial. The cost benefit analysis provided by Elysian estimated a 3-5 year payback on the lighting upgardes. Elysian connected us with all of the products that we needed and handled the rebate application with Pepco. Elysian did everything I could have hoped for and more, and were a pleasure to deal with at every step. Great service from great people.

My home audit was fantastic. The auditor was a tiny bit late, but called ahead of time to let me know, which was perfectly fine. He was super friendly towards me and very sweet with my dog. He changed all the light bulbs in my house that weren't energy efficient and brightened up my workspace. He also changed my shower head so that now it is twice as efficient, has two settings (instead of one) and better pressure. He also put protective foam on copper pipes in my basement which make the ceiling look nicer and also will keep me from burning myself every time I use the sink down there. He figured out how to fix our problems with water temperature and did so. Then he showed me things that I could fix myself- fixing a kitchen vent so we don't literally have a giant hole in our wall, putting expanding foam in specific places in the basement to help keep the draft (and bugs!) out, when and how to change filters for things, etc. It was all super easy and free (obviously the things I do myself will cost money, but they can't control that). I would 100% recommend that people have this audit and work with Elysian. They are great!

I had Elysian Energy to do a energy efficiency home assessment in February 2014 and the technician's name was Ben Burrows, whom I found to be a very knowledgeable, friendly, and wholesome individual. After considering his outgoing assessment, I then agreed to a comprehensive home assessment which was done the following month. There were two proposals offered to me to consider improving the energy quality of my home which were a low and high, cost proposals respectively.

Then finally, I contacted Elysian Energy to start the process of improving the energy efficiency of my home. We agreed on the best suitable option for my home and a date and time were set. Mr. Ben Burrows and his helper (Joel) arrived at my home on time and began the process of improving the energy efficiency of my home. Throughout the 5.5 hours of being in my home, the men were courteous, quiet, and productive. At the end of completing the work, Ben cleaned their work areas and presented my invoice. He explained the outcome of blower door test and I gained a 21% improvement from the blower door test that was done in March 2014.

My prime concern was to find out exactly where the problem area(s) is so we can tackle it economically and painlessly.
The Elysian Energy team that visited our home, were polite, courteous, friendly in establishing the base cause of concern before starting to run tests. Their inspection was thorough and precise. They had set clear expectations about going over a few of the utility bills so I was prepared to share that information with them.
The report that was emailed back is clear, complete and encloses all guidelines about follow process and procedures. In addition they even offered to be in touch if I had a question that may arise later.
Going through this detailed level of energy efficiency evaluation, gives home owners a detailed perspective and vision to take the right steps. I am happy I choose Elysian Energy.
