Capitol Handyman

I callled Capitol Handyman for some home renovations (painting and bathroom remodeling). They were competitively priced, an absolute pleasure to deal with, and I couldn't be happier with their work. My bathroom is stunning!

David was incredible -- fast and responsive on a job that literally no one else was. Will use him again any chance I get.

Moshe of Capitol Handyman was very responsive and professional. He responed to my initial inquiry quickly. He came out the same day to give me the estimate. We needed drywall repaired. We also neede some painting done both inside and outside. The work done was excellent. He was very neat and respectful of our house. I didn't have to do any cleanup after they were done. I will definitely call Moshe at Capitol handyman when I need other work done.

So glad a neighbor recommended Capitol Plumbing & Handyman -- David and Juan were kind enough to squeeze me in ahead of schedule when my kitchen plumbing issue took a turn for the worse. They quickly diagnosed the problem and walked me through a variety of solutions without trying to upsell me. Would definitely use again.

David and the other handyman he brought did a fantastic job. I called at 11 am, they were here at noon, and out the door with the job completed at 1 pm. Great price, too -- it ended up being on the lower end of the range he quoted me.

When it needs to be done right, I know who to call - David. He has done some very fine carpentry work in my home that other's had failed to do a good job at. David's work is top-notch.

David did exactly what he said he would do and when he said he would do it. As a landlord, this is what you want from a service provider so I can keep my tenants happy and enjoying their rental. David removed wet drywall, treated for mold, repaired the drywall, and repainted. If David executes like this for everyone, he'll be in business for a long time to come. Thanks David.

David was absolutely fantastic. Quick to respond. Professional and friendly. He gave me a quick assessment of possible reasons for my bathroom water pressure issues and made a recommendation which actually ended up saving me a good amount of money. Sorted out my problem efficiently.

I contacted David on a Sunday to inquire what the cost would be to put in a new kitchen faucet. He quoted me a competitive price for DC ($225) and I asked him how soon he could come. He said the next day. He called 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. He and his colleague worked efficiently and I believe walked into more than they were expecting as it took close to an hour to get off the old faucet.
After that he also noticed some corrosion around the garbage disposal. He suggested to either just replace the drain area or the drain area and the garbage disposal. He didn't push one way or the other and gave me what the costs would be for both. One would fix the initial problem but there was no telling when the garbage disposal might go. I decided to fix both the drain area and garbage disposal since the disposal was already over 4 years old. He had quoted $150 for the disposal and $250 for instillation and the drain part. After taking off the garbage disposal we found where the second leak was, one of the screws for the disposal was never attached. So it was hanging there by only 2 screws, leaving the room for a leak. I am very glad I decided to change it out. When putting in the new disposal he also noticed my grounding wire was not attached as it was cut too short. He extended this and grounded it for us. After about 3 hours we were all about to wrap up when he tested the water to find a leak in the u-trap under the sink. It was only slight but promised to come back in a few days to fix. Two days later as promised and within the window time we agreed upon he came to fix the problem. He only charged me for the parts for this fix and even brought a cover for the box he put in for the grounding wire (originally he put in a cover but it was not the right one and I had planned to go to Lowes to get the right one as agreed upon). The total cost for all was $625 and I would not change a thing. David was professional and feel he did an excellent job. He explained everything thoroughly and gave me options along the way. I would recommend him highly and hire him again if we have any additional problems.

David was a valuable resource during my condo renovation. He knows how to fix a wide range of issues-from plumbing to drywall to electrical fixtures. He was flexible when unexpected issues came up and improved many of the features that are hard to see. His pricing is upfront and honest, and he works hard to meet his price estimates.

My garbage disposal suddenly stopped working and my kichen sink was clogged, so I called capitol handyman. Thankfully they were able to fix both of these issues for me. They were very professional and easy to work with, will definitely call again in the future.

I recently used Capitol handyman for a kitchen renovation project. They do an extremely thorough job, not missing any structural or aesthetic details. Easy to work and communicate with, timely, and honest. My kitchen space had some tricky aspects to it and they didn’t stop until they got everything exactly right. The end result is beautiful and I would highly recommend for any household projects.

I contacted this business to perform painting for my company. I was told that they don't have time even after assuring that we would and could accept a later date to perform this work based on Capitol Handyman's schedule. We were looking to invest 9.5k into this work but were rudely spoken to and surreptitiously dismissed. I am amazed by how they stay in business by blowing people off. This company is removed from further consideration with my organization and we have 5 additional facilities that will require painting after this one. They could have pocketed a cool 50 grand for the work we need done, but they blew it. And good riddance!!!

I was extremely happy with Capitol Handyman! They responded immediately to my inquiry and came to assess the situation right away. They fixed our leaking toilets, a leaking pipe and replaced a door. Capitol Handyman comes with my highest recommendation. I have used them for projects in my prior home as well as in my current home, and they have always exceeded my expectations. Their pricing has always been reasonable, their estimates are reliable and the quality of their work has been consistently fantastic over the years. Their workstyle is extremely professional, and they make sure to be particularly clean and safe as they work. We have three small children and a dog, and we never had to worry about dangerous materials or substances. Whether it was mid-project or at the very end, they were always organized and clean. They also were able to identify multiple safety issues around our home, even if it was not directly linked to the project they were working on. In my case, they were able to identify multiple electrical issues, including wiring of lights & switches, as well as breaker box configurations that were not to code.

Mizrachi Handyman and their wonderful staff have also proven to be skilled to take on a wide spectrum of work. They have performed various improvements on the exterior of my home, including roofing, gutters, attic ventilation, exterior woodwork and painting, etc. On the inside of my home, they have also demonstrated their ability by adding improvements including tilework, painting, drywall repair, electrical & lighting, installing ceiling fans, etc. They can do almost everything, and when there is a project that is beyond their scope, they're very upfront and honest and recommend reliable specialists.

They are great listeners! I was able to provide all the requirements and design specifications I was looking for, and they were always able to accommodate. Additionally, they were able to take the criteria I provided and make valuable recommendations along the way. Thank you for all the great work!

David and his team are excellent, and are most assuredly some of the most professional handymen in DC. While I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives, if you want your job done right, with incredible responsiveness, and no surprises throughout the fixing process, then you must use Capitol Handyman. Capital handyman is unbelievable. Came to my house on Xmas day and took care of what I couldn't on my own. Strongly recommend him if you want an honest person who knows what he's doing .

I had Capitol Handyman come out to my home to do several jobs. We had them replace our garbage disposal which hasn’t been working for months (so glad to have a working one again!). We also had them unclog a clog in our master bedroom shower . Last week a pipe burst in our finished basement and we had them repair the pipe and drywall and paint. They were very communicative and responsive to my questions. I definitely had a very good experience using their services they were fast and efficient. I highly recommend.

You make the job done

I was quoted at $650 to $850 plus cost of parts to replace my bathtub spout. Jimmy Gusky Heating and Air Conditioning did the job for $195 total. On top of this, I was told that I would also need to fix my water shut of valve before this job could be done. Jimmy didn’t need to do that at all. Don’t trust that you are getting a fair price with Capitol Handyman.

David responded right away when I reached out and scheduled a time to take a look at my toilet which was not refilling. My husband and I had to reschedule and it was easy and he continued to be responsive, including texting me that morning to confirm and arriving well within the window provided! He took a look, diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and left all in about an hour start to finish. He was efficient, to the point, honest, and delivered! Toilet is working fine now which is great because with the holidays coming we have people staying over. Now we can offer our guests all the amenities - like working plumbing!! Highly recommend!

Capitol Handyman was exceptional! They were very responsive to feedback via email, and very punctual. I appreciate that they called me the night before to confirm their arrival time. The day of the appointment, they also called be about 45 min before they showed up to start working. They fixed a hole and scratched in the drywall caused by my movers, and it looks like brand new. I would highly recommend Capitol Handyman for any job, and I will certainly be using them again.
