ECS Roofing

ECS installed an absolutely horrific roof on our brand new construction residential home. We had an independent inspector come out and evaluate and said it should be completely removed and redone. Our brand new roof was also leaking.

In Wisconsin contractors have the “right to repair” so we had to allow them to fix it. After months of silence from Josh, he finally got in touch with my builder and sent out a crew. Despite the recommendation of a complete removal and replacement, Josh decided to repair it. It is still unacceptable after the repairs. He never once came in person to evaluate the roof when he made the decision to repair vs. replace like the inspector recommended.

We’ve had several roofers go up on the roof after the “repairs” and they still found many issues. My metal roof is extremely oil canned, there’s scratched and dented flashings, shingles, inconsistent exposures, my ridge vent needs to be reattached, not installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and more. Our quote was for black flashings and they originally installed some black and some silver, and decided to spray paint the silver ones during their repair. ECS believes the roof is good enough. Now I have to pay another company to replace the roof and pursue legal action against ECS. And they are no stranger to litigation.

EDITED TO ADD IN RESPONSE TO JOSH: Added a photo with the inspectors recommendation that states “The only way to ensure that all issues are truly addressed would be complete removal and replacement of the roof.” No one is slandering you, Josh. Slander has to be false. You installed an extremely poorly done roof on my house, disappeared for 6 months while trying to avoid paying OSHA 360k in fines, and then tried to put lipstick on a pig instead of doing the right thing and replacing it. And now you think it’s fine.

Please, google this man and this company. It’s all bad news.
