Econo Lodge - Georgetown, SC

Positive: The price. Negative: On the website it says there is breakfast everymorning and there is not. The hotel is very old and run down.

When I first arrived, I went into the office and absolutely no one was there so I had to wait at least 10-15 minutes until a employee finally showed up, got trapped in and went into the room to use the bathroom and the bathtub was completely filled with mold. Bugs galore in the room as well, so many gnats and other disgusting flying things.

Fridge stinks. Spiderweb around room light. Bathroom vent disgusting. Walls gross with cigarette grime running down them. Roach dying in the bath tub when we woke. Phone in the room but not plugged in. Filthy floor. Bedside lamp gross.

This room might he worth $30 so you don't have to sleep in your car.

But definitely not worth the $70 they charging.

This is a nice hotel where you can pull right up to your room and no stairs or elevator. Love that. The owners are very nice and helpful. It has been newly renovated. We have stayed here every vacation for the last 4 yrs. because it is affordable and convenient (no stairs or elevators).

I didn't expect much given the mixed reviews but, as the wedding I was attending was in the middle of the woods, I didn't have a lot of options for hotels. HOWEVER, the staff was polite and friendly, the room was clean enough, the bed was surprisingly comfy, the a/c worked well and the hot water didn't run out. Sure it could use some updating and renovations, but for what I paid and the overall location, I'm not mad. I saw one or two little water bugs (not roaches, but i suppose if youre not familiar, you'd be confused), but we're close enough to the water that I'm not surprised or upset. There is NOT a breakfast, they do need to change that, but the area has plenty of food options nearby. If any of the neighbors were being loud, the a/c drowned them out and yes, the road outside is busy but our room wasn't too close to the road so I didn't hear anything.

It was bad, as I stated on the previous page, have I many pictures on how bad it was, mainly cleanliness or rather lack thereof.

I stay here at this place often because it'd much cheaper then any other motel. Bc of that you tend to get other gust who are loud and also seek out low priced motels so you have to expect that when paying such a great price.

Just don’t do it to yourself. Infested with bed bugs. Infested with ants. Infested with roaches. Looks like a crime scene waiting to happen. Not safe for kids. The tv is literally 20 inches. The phone was unplugged from the wall. They never gave me my $25 deposit back either. Would’ve been a nice motel in 1965 when it opened…. Needs remodels. Smells of mold.

Sucked, requested smoke free room and got a dingy bedroom with newly slapped on purple paint. White Bathroom hadn't been painted in yrs, had purple paint splattered doorway to bedroom. Draperies were sprayed with some flowery fragranceto hide the smoke presence. It was worse than the smoke. Had to sleep with head under covers so I could breath. I have asthma. Noisy street noise all night.

The rooms in the back are very outdated, and it has a dirty feel and a bad odor. Cleanliness was hard to judge because the lighting was very bad and no lights in the bathroom. Not sure if the ones in the front are like this. Would not recommend, unless you have no other choice.

Overall I really like the hotel. They give you a choice of what side or where you would like for your room to be located. I would recommend to someone that is in need of a room quick.

I just wanted a clean room with no bugs. I know the reviews talk about the age of the property. For the price I paid for the night, I think the room was good. It was dated, but it was clean. There were no bugs and I had clean towells. Basic room for a good price and a good location.

This motel has bed bugs, dirty , osha needs to check on theses guys
don’t sleep here waste you money rather spend more to sleep in condition. I just left I didn’t even stay for 3 mins. Before discovering bed bugs ,uncleared sheets. Ewwwww nasty hotel I ever been in. I believe a homeless won’t agree to sleep in here

Expensive for the poor quality of rooms, no breakfast as is stated everywhere. To make things better the fridge barely keeps things at the correct temp- microwave didnt work, and door on it was broken anyway. Ac is years old and makes the whole room have a weird smell. Asked for a smoking room and were given non smoking anyway with no option to switch. Floors were pretty dirty, hand prints and finger nail chips taken out of the walls. All around ok if you plan to just sleep and get out all day. But definitley not worth the money paid. Would have rather gone down the street for a little extra and actually gotten a clean room with breakfast that is suppose to be included. Personay wouldnt recommended unless you desperately cant afford anywhere else.

I honestly only gave this lodge one star because you have no choice but to. After we checked in and before we brought our things inside, we did a check for cleanliness and bed bugs(as we do when we stay at any hotel). The second we walked in, the room smelled disgusting. There were food splatters and dirty marks ALL OVER THE WALLS. The bed sheets were absolutely filthy. Stains from food, bodily fluids and what appeared to be mold or something growing on the mattress. Absolutely disgusting! When we went to talk to the front desk, they had the housekeepers go check the rooms, as we booked 2, and all they did was remake the beds. We got a full refund back and booked with the Hampton right down the road.

It's a budget hotel so the price was affordable. The bed was really comfortable and the a/c worked so I slept well. The towels and linen were clean. The Wi-fi worked, and it was in a good location near several conviences and attractions. I had a non smoking room that didn't smell like smoke. Nobody gave me any problems. I will stay here again.

Despite booking non-smoking rooms five months ahead of time, I was still stuck in a smoking room in a sold-out motel (the night before the 2017 eclipse). In addition, the bathroom wasn't completely clean, and the wifi was unavailable in my room. Completely unacceptable. The only reason I'm rating it two stars is that the front-desk clerk was friendly, relatable, and kind, despite working in a dump. Avoid this motel unless you have no other alternative.
