Elmer was @ my door at exactly the time we arranged for the estimate, sent me the estimate in a timely manner, and was very quick to get to the job. I had a great experience with E&C starting with the bid itself. I called around to get some siding bids for some water damage. I didn't need the entire house sided so the job was a smaller one. A few of my bids wanted to do the entire side of the house because it really wasn't worth their time, but E&C (Elmer) had no problems bidding to replace the bad siding and at no time did he try to "upsell" me to replace everything.

Elmer listed to my requests and design choices for trim etc. while offering me some ideas of his own. What impressed me most was how responsive they were. Elmer showed up on time to give me the bid and he sent the bid to me via email that same day. When I accepted the bid, Elmer told me when they would be onsite to start the work, and he kept me informed throughout the process. They ended up being able to start a bit earlier than they originally thought and he checked in with me to ensure that would be ok with us. When they tore off the old siding they brought me out to show me what they had found including some rot to the house sheathing from where the original builder cut corners.

The rotted sheathing wasn't in the original bid and I suppose they could have just covered it up without anyone knowing, but Elmer wanted to do the right thing. He explained the issue and told me what the extra cost was (his price for materials and labor was very fair even though I had little choice since there was no way I was going to ignore rotted sheathing).

The E&C crew replaced the rotted OSB and verified there was no further damage to framing. I also asked them to cover the bottom of the wall in a peel-and-stick flashing material (Grace Vycor) which I had onsite and they took the time to do it right to ensure there would never be any further issues with water. They then wrapped everything in the proper housewrap, taped the windows the way it is supposed to be done, and installed the siding.

I'm fairly picky about how things are built and have extensive knowledge of proper building practices so I can honestly say E&C did things right at every step along the way. They didn't try to cut corners or use inferior products and they treated my house like it was their priority even though I'm sure in the scope of things it was a small job and they likely had other larger projects to get to.

Elmer was a great guy to work with and based upon my interactions with him and the quality of the work I know the next time I need roofing or siding I'll be calling E&C. They might not be the biggest company in the area and they don't have any flashy advertisements or commercials that I've ever seen, but I'd be willing to bet they will continue to grow based upon results and word of mouth.

I have zero reservations about recommending these guys. If you are looking for a honest bid, a hard working crew, and someone who will actually return phone calls and do what they say they will do you can't go wrong with E&C.

My siding was damaged in a hail storm but I was not given enough insurance to replace my entire house’s siding. Elmer made sure we could do a proper color match and took time to discuss exactly what I wanted done. Easy to talk to and work with, and the price quote was perfect. The siding looks great and done in a timely manner!
