Perfect performance—from the initial visit to the project’s completion. I especially commend the two technicians. They had to negotiate tight spaces and a complex layout to install a network of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in our home. One location required them to cut a hole in a wall and crawl into a steeply angled area under our roof. When they were through, everything was working correctly and there was no mess to be found. Perfect.

Dynamo was very responsive to our needs and did quality work. Within a day of contacting them via their online form, we had an appointment setup for Paul, the owner, to come to our house, evaluate our needs and provide us with a quote. Paul explained everything very clearly, answered all of our questions and did not try and push a package on us that was more than we needed. Install was scheduled within 2 weeks and was completed in a day. The install team was great about communicating service interruptions and expected durations to us. Inspections were done and passed within 48 hours. Finally, Nicole, the generator tech who installed the system couldn't have been nicer, especially when I started asking a lot of technical questions about the inner working of the generator software. Overall a great experience!

Quality company with good people at competitive prices. I started working with Paul Brinkley and his company when I needed maintenance for a generator on a previous house. I called and spoke with Christy and scheduled a visit with Nicole. That experience was so positive, that when we moved I called them again and Paul Brinkley (owner) came by to do a thorough analysis of our needs to provide an estimate. Dynamo's quote was competitive but the difference was their people. Christy, Nicole, Paul, Cody, Jason, Cameron, Marvin, and Cole were all knowledgeable and courteous professionals. I learned that Paul invested in his people with advanced training to further their competitive advantage. The James City County inspectors recognized their work and it was virtually a rubber stamp. We will be using Dynamo going forward. You should too!

In the past 17 years Dynamo has replaced both interior and exterior lights, smoke detectors as well as installing and servicing my whole house generator. I used Dynamo Electric in Williamsburg, Va. a few years after recommendation from a neighbor. It was a great decision and so I called Dynamo again recently to have them do some more electrical work. Paul came out to see what we needed to have done and then he sent the electricians to do the work the following week. We were most pleased again as a good experience....very efficient and knowledgeable men.

I contacted Dynamo with a unique situation in which I needed my electric meter box pulled away from the house to replace some rotten siding under the box. It required an electrician to disconnect the box (and power) and wait while the siding was repaired so that the box could be reconnected and the power could be restored as soon as possible. I thought coordinating that that process would be a nightmare, not to mention, expensive; however Dynamo was willing to accommodate the siding installer's schedule, and the whole job was done in about one hour. I highly recommend Dynamo Electric; they made feel that getting my small and somewhat unique job done was of primary importance to them, and they were a pleasure to work with through its completion.

I've come to trust Dynamo Electric with much of my electrical needs. They installed a whole-house generator for us in 2019, and conduct annual inspection & maintenance visits. This involved extensive re-working of my already-full breaker box to put in half-height breakers, and other items. Just recently I had them add a 60 amp, 240 volt circuit for an EV charger in our garage; and this again involved more half-height breakers to make room for the double-height 240V beaker. All of this work required JCC permits, which they handled as part of the job estimate. I think they offer a fair price for excellent work. All of their folks analyzing my needs and installing the new lines / equipment have been very good; respectful of us and our property, and very reliable.

It was stormy on our scheduled service date, which could pose a risk to an electrician! Nonetheless, our technician arrived on time to check whether we were having any problems with our Generac, explain why a full checkup might not be prudent, and schedule a follow-up date for the full checkup. On that follow-up date, he again arrived on time and did the full check-up, being personable and professional throughout. That's the level of service we've come to expect from Dynamo Electric!

We had a generator installed by Dynamo a few years ago. It has worked every time we needed it too when we have a power outage. They come out twice a year to service the generator and make sure it will work when we need it too. Great company to deal with!

The service technician Paul quickly solved my problem. Paul was on time, knowledgeable, and very professional. A wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Dynamo.

Asked for two outdoor outlets to be used with landscape lighting, and they installed outlets with covers that have to be opened to use. Not going to manually plug in my landscape lights every time it's nice outside and I want to use them. Called and they were hesitant to try and resolve the problem so now I guess I effectively paid for nothing.

Excellent service paul was very low pressure and provided an excellent quote. Install was flawless very professional team inspection process was a breeze and generator start up was great no issues at all....very pleased...added white rocks as per the reccomendation at it looks sharp....

Called them for an estimate. The lady acted like they were too busy to really care, and sure enough, no call back to set an appointment. These companies better think about the future when they will need referrals to be busy like they are now. My job request is not a small one either, over 5k at least.

We had a long list of electrical issues after purchasing our home that Travis and apprentice Aiden handled efficiently as well as providing advice on other issues. They arrived on time and spent almost 3 1/2 hours replacing ceiling fans, chandeliers, a vanity light, pendant lights, switches and outlets. The price was reasonable given the amount of work. We will definitely use Dynamo in the future and ask for Travis.

They were in and out...they knew what they were doing...and the bill was less than I thought. I had then do rewiring for a remodeling we did, and another time for a 220 line I needed installed.

I recently had the need to run a dedicated circuit in my house for a piece of gym equipment. I had received a quote from another local electrical company but wanted to get a second opinion. I called Dynamo Electric and they had a gentleman out to give me a quote.
I was impressed from the start. He was professional and through. We looked at a few different options and settled on what we both thought was best. He gave me a written quote there on the spot. It was literally 1/3 the price I was quoted from the second local company and the way he suggested doing the job would not involve having to cut into walls in both my garage and in the house. (All of which would have had to be refinished and painted by myself.)
The best part was that they had an opening that day if I wanted it done then. Absolutely! Only problem was that I had to go to work but honestly I felt right at home leaving my home open to them.
The work was immaculate. Exactly as we had talked about. Even beyond. The fit and finish was amazing. For example, outside conduit was pre-painted to match the house. Every access point to the house heavily sealed with silicone and cleaned.
I've had more than a few different contractors work on my house and this job was easily the top of the bunch.
I really can't say enough good things about my experience with Dynamo. I have more projects coming up this summer and they will be the only ones I call. Keep up the great work!
