Jaime and his team were excellent from start to finish. From planning through completion, Jaime was quick to respond to my requests and questions. When they were at the house, the crew was respectful and professional. They always arrived on time and worked hard to complete the job within the quoted schedule of work. All of these characteristics of Double R Construction are in stark contrast to most other construction contractors I've work with in Las Cruces. Great job by Double R Construction on repairing and rebuilding my severely damaged front porch. Several contractors bid a total demolition approach, but Luis suggested saving the structure but repairing it to be safe again and look like new at a much lower cost than the demo bids. Luis and his crew were quick to get started, very professional, provided great communication on the day-to-day status, and the end result was exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend Double R Construction.

Jamie and the entire team at Double R Construction impressed me in their work ethic, cleanliness/prep and work execution all above our expectations. We needed help with painting the interior husband and I very impressed by how they made sure all was covered to protect the floors etc. not only did they do great prep work they also executed the interior beautifully. Luis and crew built a back porch to replace my old one. The new porch was to be nearly the full length of the house, more than twice the size of my old porch. A concrete pad was poured, beautiful cedar posts for all the exposed structure and an excellent roof. I expect that it will last longer than any other part of that house. It was wonderful.

When my home was severely damaged by an automobile, Double R quickly responded to safe the scene and make my home livable until repairs could be completed. Double R did an excellent job of providing all of the needed estimates for the insurance company and coordinated with the electrician, plumber, welder, and other specialties. Double R kept me informed and make sure that the quality of work met my needs and that various options were considered where a single solution was not necessary. I wholeheartedly recommend Double R!

In Spring of 2023 we hired Double R construction to do some remodeling work inside of our house, and we have been absolutely happy and satisfied with the process and result. We needed to have built-in hot tub removed, and a support platform built for a new “portable” hot tub. We started by contacting 3 contractors and asking for bids on the work. The first contractor looked over the job, left the house and never submitted a bid. The second contractor told us he wouldn’t bid on the job unless we got plans on how to do it from a structural engineering firm. This would have costed many thousands of dollars more and an untold amount of time to get a firm to do this. The third contractor was Double R. Luis (one of the co-owners) looked it over, and he said “no problem” and gave us a bid within about one day. The work was scheduled within a week and was done on time, for a fair price. His crew seemed highly skilled and efficient. I would give this design and construction company my highest approval, and will definitely hire them back the next time I have a construction project. The platform has not budged since installation, and they also remediated issues with the surrounding floor and door jam. Before and after picture attached:

We want to recognize Double R for the impossible job done at our cannabis dispensary. They know how to not only follow due process but also work with professionally with inspectors and the Fire Marshall to get the job done right. Luis at Double R Construction was a huge help to us as we navigated the process of our insurance claim after our house fire last March. Without his help, we probably would not have our house back today. Thank you Luis and everyone at Double R!

My new place had an open office design. I didn’t like this, so I hired them to fill in the wall and build some custom bookshelves. When it was finished, it looked like the bookshelves were original to the house. They designed and built custom shelving that blended in perfectly.

I also used them to widen a TV niche that was designed for a 4:3 TV while I had a 16:9 TV. Again, they did it so that it matched the interior perfectly. The paint, the design, everything.

The last project they did for me was enclosing my patio to make it a screened-in catio. This turned out really well as they used wood framing to blend in with the southwest design.

The only glitch in these projects was the communication. It could have been better. That said, I’d still recommend them for your projects.

4.5 stars- only minor complaint is scheduling. But the work and integrity are great!!! Price is decent, there are probably cheaper companies, but you get what you pay for. Double R Construction does very good work. I recommend Double R Construction!!!
All the workers are very polite and kind.

The end result of my kitchen remodel is great. But the process to get there was REALLY difficult. I was frustrated most of the six weeks it took to do the construction. Some of the workers only spoke Spanish, even though I asked them to please speak English so I knew what they were doing. One of the workers that was to install the tile backsplash simply didn’t show up on the specified day and I had no way to contact him or the owner of Double R. There was a big mess up of the plumbing for the reverse osmosis system - it did finally get fixed, but it was very frustrating and I ended up with a big hole in my side yard that didn’t get filled up correctly. Again, the end result is nice but it was a very difficult process, so be prepared. PS: the owner Luis is, thankfully, a very nice guy!

Double R is professional, thorough, responsive, on time and they clean up after themselves. I would recommend them highly. They have an excellent crew.

I can't rave about Double R Construction enough! From Nelly to Luis to team lead, Roger all amazing, good, hard working & honest people--something that is hard to come by. We had a massive water leak in our airbnb and needed a full interior remodel. Luis worked with our insurance to put together an estimate, had his team on site as soon as possible and stayed late to finish the job. He was very responsive and kept me in the loop on all things happening at our condo. They kept our condo so clean and picked up everything--I was pleasantly surprised how they treated my home as if it were their own. They went above and beyond the job scope and made sure our home looked beautiful upon completion. Luis did a full walkthrough with us to confirm our satisfaction with the job. If I ever need a general contractor, I wouldn't hesitate to call Luis and his amazing team!

Double R Construction redid our ceiling patio and it came out perfect. They did everything stated in the contract. The crew's expertise showed in the detail of the work. The worksite was cleaned up daily and when the job was done everything was placed back in its place. We strongly recommend them for any construction or home improvement job!

Double R Construction did a beautiful job building a rock wall at our home this fall. Jaime was so easy to work with and responsive to questions and concerns. His crew got the job done in less time than I expected it to take - the total time between calling for a quote and having a finished product was less than two weeks! Luis and his crew from Double R construction were amazing. Not only did they do beautiful work but he made sure we understood every step of the way. We had major repairs and a remodel of our our Living room, den, and dining area. Before we started our original repairs I was very nervous, but Luis made me feel very much at ease and explained things making it easy to understand. Not only was the work performed to standards even better than we expected, but the entire crew was so friendly and worked around us and our schedule. Double R crew did outstanding work on prepping and coating my roof in the timeframe promised. The crew was quiet and polite. Cleanup was well done; no trash, dirt, paint, etc. left behind.

I’ve been using Double R for many years on different jobs. The painting and stucco work is the best I’ve ever seen. Recently they did a kitchen, cleaning and painting the cabinets, adding new granite, new hinges and cabinet pulls. The job was done on budget and on time. They took special care because I have tenants that live there. I will always use them for any projects I have in the future. The kitchen was dark and dated with worn out laminate countertops. Knew appliances will be installed tomorrow.

We had stucco repair and the exterior of our house painted with elastomeric by Double R April 2024. The house had been painted by another contractor 4 years ago. Sadly, the stucco was not repaired properly and the elastomeric was watered. The difference is apparent now that Double R has redone the job. We can feel the elasticity of the elastomeric. The painters arrived early and on time each day. The project was completed ahead of schedule. Communication was excellent throughout the process.

We had the entire interior of our house painted by Double R January 2024. The painting is flawless. The painters were at our house early and on time each morning. As they completed and exited each room they cleaned floors, windows and flat surfaces before replacing the furniture. The project was completed ahead of schedule. We needed an honest critique about the roof replacement we had done last year. Jaime was able to not only show us, but explain how the previous roofer had cut corners and basically did a shoddy job. We wanted it done right, so Jaime’s team installed a new roof at a reasonable price and did an excellent job. Believe me when I tell you this company truly believes in doing quality work. Double R is fantastic, and Jaime GREAT to work with! In March 2023, they patched/painted our stucco, installed a new front deck, and rebuilt our pergola. Everything was done by the book, and the workmanship was excellent. In June 2024, they removed our carpeting/linoleum, and installed over 2000 sq/ft of luxury vinyl plank flooring.
