DJZ Construction

DJZ construction did a bathroom remodel and water damage repair at my home. They communicated everyday the scope of work to be done. Their contractors were efficient and polite. The contractors communicated all problems and solutions with me. The work was excellent! So happy with the whole experience.

DJZ came to my rescue, fitting me in their crowded calendar to build a ramp for me to use a walker or wheelchair after bilateral knee replacements. It’s a beautiful and sturdy build and it’s ready for post surgery in a few days. I’m so grateful for their great work and their answer to my distress call. Looking forward to my bathroom remodel as soon as I can get on DJZ’s very full calendar.

DJZ Construction did a major remodel to update my 1915 house. They are very good builders and used quality materials that will last, throughout the project. Remodels are a tricky business but they consistently said “yes” to it all and did not shy away from difficult challenges, which many contractors won’t do. They wanted to make me happy throughout the whole project and went above and beyond many times to make things right. Their communication was very good throughout the project and I always knew they were a phone call away. They’re good people who believe in building relationships. Overall, I’m incredibly happy with how the remodel turned out!

I would highly recommend DJZ Construction for any addition or improvements to help make a space more disability/ADA friendly. After my husband suffered a debilitating stroke at a young age, I was caught with having to find a way to make our 2 story (3 if you count the garage) house wheelchair accessible and friendly. We had a storage loft above our garage that we accessed through the house. At the time I was trying to make the main floor half bath into a full bath that he could use. Derek had the genius idea of removing the garage loft and putting an addition on the top floor of the garage instead, complete with an ADA compliant bathroom. I added the idea of a wheelchair lift from our garage to the addition so during the winter and rainy spring, my husband wouldn't have to wheelchair through the weather in our back yard to get to the car. We had to work through the loan process just at the time when interest rates were hiking up and monthly payments were getting ridiculous resulting in being able to afford thousands less than originally thought. Derek was great in working through the budget and finding ways where we could finish certain aspects of the project ourselves to save money. They got the new addition to the point where, with some help, I was able to paint, put up all trim and doors, and hall handrail and bathroom fixtures (towel holders, etc.) after DJZ finished their part. During the whole process, TJ kept me updated on what was happening each week, and when things changed last minute. The different crews were great about keeping a path clear in the garage when my husband had to get out to therapy or doctors appointments. We did have issues with the their suggested designer of the plans, and the place that the bathroom plumbing stuff was ordered from, but TJ indicated that I was not the only one having issues with those two companies and they were considering not using them in the future (good plan). Sometimes you just get lemons right? But all of the other contracted companies were amazing and always went above and beyond, even one coming out months later to do something that was missed in order to pass final inspection. That was amazing that I was able to contact Derek and explain the issue, and he had the solution the next day. We have a lot of projects around here that we'll be approaching them about, from small to medium, from decking to extending upstairs floor to add more usable space. I won't be going to any other contractor! And I 1000% suggest everyone that has any size project contact these guys first. Their vision and organization is remarkable, always thinking outside the box, and completing things on time as much as they can help it. Just do it, you won't regret it :)

Derek, TJ and the Team were amazing to work with. They hung with us through the ups and downs of restoration work on 10 bath houses in the park. They were patient even when we weren't and talked us through every step of the process, sometimes more than once as there was more than one person involved in the decision making process. They have been professional and friendly through everything. the work has been on point and even above expectations in some areas. Great attention to detail. look forward to working with them in the future.

I cannot say Thank You enough to Contractor TJ and Owner Derek. Literally top-notch craftsmanship and the professionalism & communication throughout the duration of our reno was simply outstanding. You get what you pay for and these guys are worth every single penny. They are easy to get a hold of and if you have any questions, concerns or comments, they respond immediately. We had Derek and T.J. convert our master bedroom closet into a master bath. they also remodeled our super ugly master bedroom. There attention to detail was amazing. They are very passionate with there work. What I really liked was the daily updates of that day and what was happening the next day. Throughout the whole process it was clean and tidy always. We had a 5 week time frame and it was completed on time and under budget even with our add ons. We are having them remodel our outdated kitchen which we cant wait for. If your looking for a dependable and honest contractor I highly recommend DJZ Construction

I have used this company repeatedly because they do a fantastic job! They helped me achieve my goal of updating my 1977 split level home: open concept, all new flooring, plumbing, and beautiful wood work. I now have a space I can use to welcome guests and family. I am grateful that I could depend on their professional team to do the job well and reap the benefits of my home increasing it's market value! I don't normally write reviews but I am glad to do this one!

DJZ Construction was a pleasure of a business to work with. Derek and TJ are very knowledgeable, motivated and hardworking. They strive to please their clients and are good at maneuvering problems and action based solutions. I also found their pricing to be fair and competitive with professional change orders and updates to our project regularly! We are thrilled with the work on our outdated kitchen/ living space and would definitely use them again for any project!

What started out as a hot tub stone cap repair, turned into a total rebuild of the framing and stone work. Although there were lengthy delays due to weather and finding matching stone the project came out very well. We were well satisfied with the sub contractors that DJZ used. Cleanup each day was well done which we were glad about so that our dog was not stepping on any debris left laying around.

DJZ Construction built a back porch for us so that we could enter our home from the back door without having to stand in the rain. It was a tough job during the pandemic but DJZ Construction was safe and professional and we would highly recommend them.

Not only were the staff at DJZ Construction professional, they did immaculate work and were able to do everything on my “want” list including things I didn’t think were possible. Derek made it happen! He also completely understood my likes and dislikes as the process progressed and was able to make suggestions that I wouldn’t have thought of that I absolutely loved and still love to this day. A+++ work and a great group of staff to work with! My remodel has honestly changed my life and has made myself and my family much more comfortable and at home in our living space. Thank you!

While their high quality work speaks for itself, they consistently went above and beyond in their work while also delivering on time and on budget. Daily communication was a high priority for them, they showed up when they said they would show up, and got done what they said they would get done.

We've been living in our remodeled home for a few weeks now and I still walk around looking at everything with wonder and gratitude. Working with Derek and TJ, from concept to completion, was so easy, I'd absolutely do it again! Derek provided us with resources, advice, education and was an outstanding advocate - ensuring we always got what was discussed and planned - and often more. In one circumstance, when we were willing to scale back to resolve an unexpected issue, Derek was adamant that he would resolve it without compromise - and he did, through his relationship and advocacy with a vendor and with no adverse impact to our dream, the schedule or budget. They were as invested in the end result as they would be for their own home! They kept the job site clean and organized and made sure anyone working for/with them did the same. I had no issues working from home throughout the entire project. Their communication was clear and consistent; change orders were prepared for all adjustments to the project and accounting/payment records were timely and convenient.
Our project (both phases) was completed on time and within budget and the results were better than we ever could have imagined! Our neighbors are still commenting on the beautiful changes and asking for tours of the 'new house'. I joked about keeping the construction going because I so enjoyed the process, results and our time with Derek, TJ and their team of experts. We have referred them to family and friends who have also contracted their services based on the high quality of work they saw in our home and we will definitely use them again to finish the rest of our projects!

We were very happy with DJZ. They repaired the flooring in our rental property and did such a great job. They were very cost effective and so easy to work with. Derek is just the best!
