We had an exceptional experience with Dixie Construction for the renovation of our historic New Orleans home. This was our first major home renovation, and the entire team at Dixie was a pleasure to work with from the initial consultation through the final reveal. The home was in need of extensive renovations and we had an initial walk-through and meeting with George to go over the scope of work, complexity of the project, cost and timeline.
George’s positive attitude and approach to customer service and his willingness to address all concerns and needs far exceeded our expectations. He developed a solid plan and timeline and his team got to work immediately on the renovation. Every inch of space was carefully thought out and each phase of the project was discussed thoroughly in order to create exactly what we wanted in every room of our home.
We were astonished by Dixie’s craftmanship throughout the entire process. The technical skills that each of their subcontractors exhibited was truly remarkable and it is obvious that they were each chosen for their expertise. I felt as though each subcontractor was superior in their craft, and we had them all under one roof! This made the entire renovation run seamlessly and provided unsurpassed quality and beautiful finishes throughout our home. George was on-site every day and maintained effective and constant communication during the project by answering questions, providing feedback and giving comprehensive updates on the renovation as the work progressed. He gave us an estimate of the completion time and cost of the project, including prompt and accurate updates as and when we changed the scope of work, and delivered on both accounts.

Our project started with a very old New Orleans home in need of extensive renovations. We ended up demoing the majority of the house and only keeping what was required by the HDLC, and doing a large addition to the home - so both renovation work and new build work! Working with George and the entire team at Dixie (plus all of the subcontractors) made the entire project feel very smooth. George is a problem solver and whenever issues came up, they were presented to us with solutions, everyone was efficient and we felt good about the progress we were making throughout the entire project. One area that was pretty unique to our project was that we were using pine that my husband had salvaged and personally milled. They handled his hardwoods and the complications that they presented exceptionally well and were excited to incorporate them. George and his team worked well with our architect, they are already working together on future projects! They were flexible with our changes and with my procrastination with decision making, I never felt rushed and they worked around me to keep the project moving. Throughout the entire project, I really felt like they had our best interest at heart. If anything seemed off, they reviewed it with us before doing anything and made many suggestions that improved the overall project. In addition to the smooth work process, the Dixie team and the subcontractors really had a nice work environment at the house and I trusted everyone that was there throughout the entire project. It was clear they all worked really well together and made what can be hard work fun– if you haven’t seen their Instagram, check it out, you’ll see what I mean by them having a good time! Plus it was a nice bonus to follow along with updates from our house! We love the house and couldn't be happier here, and we are so appreciative that the building process went so well, thanks Dixie!

George and his team were amazing! They replaced out entire roof and bedroom ceilings after some roof damage. They are so easy to work with, on time and responsive and provided quality work. We worked with Dixie Construction on a 100+ year old home renovation. It was a big undertaking - the house was gutted and a new foundation added. We moved in just over a month ago and are so pleased with the outcome! I am impressed with the quality of work that George's team provided. They were accommodating with our requests and had great attention to detail. I'm especially happy with the tile work in our bathrooms! I purchased a property that needed to be fully renovated and engaged a local architect to lay out the plans. The architect recommended George with Dixie Construction for this work, which was the restoration/renovation of a 100+ years old home with some new additions. Due to the type of construction loan required for this property we had to move fast on the front-end of the project and George was very accommodating when providing the costs and schedule information for our bank. Once the work began, George and his team provided high quality work at each phase of the project. George was also very helpful along the way and communicated with me regularly. He was easy to get in touch with when I had questions or needed help making decisions. George was also clear when discussing changes that would affect the overall costs or schedule. I would recommend working with George and Dixie Construction on any new build or renovation project.

George and his team did an excellent job restoring and adding a camelback addition to our house. So pleased with his work!

We needed more space and planned to move but didn't want to leave our neighborhood. A friend recommended we speak with George and share some ideas we had for expanding our house. It was the best call we made. George took our vision and made it reality. We added a full second story to our 100 year old house. I hired Dixie Construction to put on an addition and make a few other renovations to a house I just bought. I am a first-time homeowner and was naturally nervous about undergoing such a big project. I could not have asked for a better experience working with Dixie Construction. From Day One of meeting with George, the owner of Dixie, I knew I was in good hands. George and his team delivered high quality results that stayed on my budget and actually finished ahead of schedule! Meredith, my project manager, was on top of every detail and made communication so smooth. She was always accessible and attentive to any concerns that I had. Any time there was something that I had a question about or wanted done differently, George and the team did a great job of addressing it without it being an issue. All of the subcontractors did great work as well and took good care of my home. I have now been living in my home for about 1 month since completion and I love it.
