Deck Buddy team were incredible. I got estimates from a couple companies which tried to up sale the project(s). Showed Doru the same issues and he suggested a no-nonsense solution. The team was professional - completed the project in a day, and left the area clean and tidy. Extremely happy with their work. Have already talked to them about another project for later this fall. Deck Buddy does excellent work. Doru works with you starting with clear communication about their process, makes recommendations based on his experience and provides a detailed estimate. His crew took the time to do the prep work - replacing select boards, power washing and sanding - that was necessary to refurbish our old deck. The crew applied several coats of stain to get the desired results. There were significant challenges with rainy weather during our project. Doru regularly communicated and he made sure the final results met our expectations. We are very pleased with our deck.

DeckBuddy is our go to for our deck and fence work over the last several years. They always do a great job and are reliable with their scheduling and quality of work. They replaced a section of our fence and once they were done they hung several items back up on the fence that were there before. This is the second time in five years we have availed ourselves of the services of Deck Buddy.

We have used them twice now to refinish/stain our deck and repair insect damaged wood to include a support post and main truss this time that required a Fairfax County building permit to effect the necessary repairs.

It was less than thirty days from the date of the initial estimate to the final completion of the repairs and staining/refinishing of the deck. This included the county permitting process and subsequent inspections.

The Deck Buddy crew was quick and efficient throughout the project and completed the work in a timely manner despite uncooperative weather.

My husband & I highly recommend Deck Buddy for deck work, especially Doru, because of the excellent service from the estimate, to the actual work, to the final payment, all at a reasonable price (including an off-season discount). Deck Buddy was the only contractor we interviewed who would do significant deck board carpentry to replace rotted planks on a 2-story deck prior to cleaning & staining (other companies wanted to replace both decks!).
The craftsmanship of the carpentry work was fantastic resulting in no damage to adjacent planks. The power washing was thorough. The staining was done diligently & meticulously for both the prep work and the actual staining.

I contracted Deck Buddy to come in an remove an old deteriorating wooden deck that had already seen its best days. I did shop around for quotes before ultimately settling on Doru's business for my project. There were a few deciding factors in who I chose to go with, but honestly the biggest one for me was presentation.

I'll just mention price real quick. Pricing between the three estimates that I got were honestly all pretty close together. Doru's came in right in the middle. I'll add that during the negotiations, Doru was very up front with saying that if I could show a comparable quote that he would drop the price. There are some caveats there, but again, he'll tell you that up front (I just don't have the email anymore to quote it).

Outside of price, the main deciding factor for me, was the presentation of the estimate and what it included. The way Doru communicates and what he provides as far as information is concerned goes way beyond his competitors. I'm a firm believer in providing people with all the information they need to made an educated decision.

They provided pictures of the intended materials types, the railings, copies of both his MHIC license and their liability insurance. The estimate also included a breakdown on the specific pricing. Basically, he left no questions for me to ask except when he could start.

Which, I've got to say, I don't regret my decision at all. I've worked with several contractors over the time I've lived in my house for various other projects, and nobody comes close to the level of professionalism that I got out of Doru and his company. I could tell that he was invested in delivering a quality product, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Having placed unwarranted trust in a new company that did a completely inadequate job and then disappeared before I could get them to correct their blunders, I considered several companies referred by Angi and solicited bids from four of them before I hired Deck Buddy to power wash, sand, and stain my deck. Although Duro's bid wasn't the lowest, there was something about him that made me trust him. This time my trust was warranted.
He explained what he would do and did it quickly and carefully. An unexpected rain shower complicated the drying process so he returned to provide an additional coat. I had expected him to simply redo the few discolored areas, but he wanted to make sure the job was done right. It was.

We replaced our old paver landing and stairs structure with one made of Trex, so the project required removing the old structure, creating a foundation for the new frame, and finishing it with Trex. Truly impressed with above the standard we are used to working with contractors on such projects. Most importantly Doru does not delegate responsibility for the whole process to others - he is personally involved from start to end. There were no shortcuts ensuring the deck and stairs were solidly constructed, with the best materials, and excellent aesthetics that blend well into the existing backyard landscaping. We had Deck Buddy out to replace the rotting pressure treated wood on our 2nd story deck with Trex and we are so happy with the result. Deck Buddy replaced the floorboards and railing caps with Trex and rebuilt the frames of our privacy screens and replaced the lattice. The quality of work was excellent. I'm really impressed with the exactness of the cuts they did to get the decking up against our townhome. Everyone was very professional and the job site was neat and clean every day when they left, and when the job was done, they left my backyard nicer than it was when they got there. Doru and his crew were very easy to work with and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The Deck Buddy work was excellent -- at every step, Doru and his crew made sure things were done the right way, not just the fastest way, and my deck now looks fantastic. They replaced the floor boards and railing caps, then pressure washed and stained everything. Everything was cleaned up after each part of the job, which was done in stages. The wood was clearly excellent quality (far better than what I've used in the past from a big-box store), and they were able to use the stain required by the HOA. Unlike other companies that I could tell they contract salesman to sign jobs for them and get them a good payday, Deck Buddy’s salesman is very personable and knowledgeable. In 20 minutes I spent with their salesman, I have learned more about the process, about composite material brands, designs and options, than I’ve learned in 3 days of meeting several people from different deck companies/contractors. Yenifer does an amazing job communicating with the client and being reassuring in times when shortages of materials were the normal. I would be informed about the result of every deck inspection and all Inspection Approval Notices were provided for my records. My TREX deck looks amazing. The crew was very polite and hardworking. I’ve never seen any other contractor working like these guys before. I have changed a few houses along the years and built quite a few decks on my previous houses. I had deck repair, some of the beam got rotted, reached out to Deck Buddy. He replied my calls, and came for estimate and gave very realistic work estimate. I like the estimate, and proceeded with work. He came yesterday and today, he fixed all the issues, matter of fact did more than promised, like bleaching and cleaning other rotted area with bleach. His workmanship was excellent, very skilled, overall excellent work. Im extremely satisfied with work and cost. The price is very reasonable.
