The exterior of our home was synthetic stucco and it was not holding up well to the local climate. We decided to replace the EIFS with a combination of James Hardie siding and stone. We contacted James Hardie for installers in our area and they connected us with two. The things that set D.C. Mullins apart from the competition were their willingness to include some small construction elements needed for our design and lower pricing for both the siding and roof. Gary did a great job collecting the requirements. Dave and the crew were able to make our design a reality. The crew was very hard working and diligent. They also did a great job of preparing for the contractors who had to follow their work – the stone mason and the window installers. Our home turned out amazing! We highly recommend D.C. Mullins.

When my wife and I decided to renovate the exterior of our two-story English Tudor I knew I had to hire a contractor for such a large job. I carefully researched contractors and obtained multiple estimates. I selected DC Mullins Construction company based on the owner’s years of construction experience, reviews, professionalism, and quality of the construction supplies they utilize. The owner of DC Mullins was professional, courteous, and laid out a detailed plan for my project along with a clear timeline for the work. When the work started I was impressed with their crew’s attention to detail, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism. The crew showed up promptly for work and were always professional, courteous, and friendly. I appreciated their attention to detail and how they all seemed to work as a cohesive unit. The owner would oversee the work and was very good a communicating with my wife and myself. I have always believed that you get what you pay for – DC Mullens wasn’t the lowest bid, but I would have paid extra for the service and the quality of work we received. The project turned out excellent, enhancing the beauty and value of our home. The next major project we undertook, a large deck and covered porch, I didn’t even look for estimates – I went straight back to DC Mullens Construction. I would recommend DC Mullins Construction without hesitation – you will not be disappointed.

DC Mullins did a wonderful job installing James Hardie siding on our home. Their employees were always on time, professional and work hard to get the job done in a timely manner. We live in an area where woodpeckers are kings- let them bang on this Hardie Siding. We also had a very unique house design. Several of our neighbors used DC Mullins. In Pittsburgh, the largest challenge is finding a construction crew that you feel is reliable and trustworthy. The whole team is extremely friendly, and for the amount of time you see them, you get to know them. Dave helped us find a solution for our round room siding sections and helped us install a very very large door. Working through the job was low-stress and pressure-free. Quality and punch list items are the most minimal I have ever experienced on a project. These guys have picked a product and mastered it versus others that are over the place. This in my opinion is clearly evident. If there are any issues found over time they stand by their work. Highly recommend DC Mullens if you are thinking about James Hardie for your siding project.

From start to finish we were impressed and pleased with the DC Mullins. We replaced the existing cedar lap siding with Hardi Lap Siding and couldn't be happier with the results. Gary was very informative during the sales process and helpful with ideas and suggestions. The onsite crew was awesome, very prideful in their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Replaced whole house wood cedar siding with Hardy siding. All aspects of this project was top notch on the part of DC Mullins. It is clear they are experts in Hardy siding installation. DC Mullins Construction did FANTASTIC work replacing the siding on our existing addition with James Hardie fiber cement siding. Everyone that we worked with, from start to finish, was courteous and knowledgeable. We were so impressed with the job they did, that we are using them again for an additional project this spring.

Overall great experience with DC Mullins. We had James Hardie siding installed on our entire house. Workmanship was professional. Crew was friendly, hard working, and conscientious. Only downside was that their estimate of when work would commence was delayed. David seems to maintain constant contact with the crew during project, and problems were handled quickly and professionally. David would not accept final payment until he personally inspected the workmanship. Good quality; highly recommend.

The crew of men that replaced my wood porch with Aeratis materials were very professional and dedicated. It was bitter cold outside when they were working. I didn't expect them to come to work some days, but they most certainly did. They worked neatly and quietly for construction. They did extremely quality work. They knew the correct way to put up new posts and trim them out. I did not have to watch the workers to make sure they were doing things correctly, although I did watch them as I was excited to not have to paint a porch and the porch steps again. It had gotten to be a yearly maintenance.
The construction company had done some work in my neighbor hood and that is how I discovered them. I was put on a waiting list and it was well worth the wait. Would I call them again or recommend them-YES.

David and Gary at DC Mullins Construction worked with us on getting the James Hardie residing project right the first time. They have extensive experience in the design process and it shows. The right decisions they helped us make were evident as we admire the finished product. If I noticed something didn't look right to me, they would not move on until I was satisfied. That is service. We signed the contract in the fall and didn't think we'd be able to get the siding until March. We were thrilled when it was installed in January. We really did our research and decided on DC Mullins because of their craftsmanship. We had seen reviews from others where the angles had sloppy cuts and the homeowners could not get the problem resolved. Our angles are on a 1st story and very visible and we are thrilled with the outcome. We would select them again.

UPDATE: The owner followed up with me, addressed all of my questions, and provided an estimate. He was responsive after I posted the original review.

Several years ago DC Mullins was responsive and offered quality work at a fair price.
Unfortunately I find that the company has become slow to respond and unreliable.
I’ve been waiting over three months for an estimate to resurface a deck. After repeated requests for updates I still have no information.

Hired them to replace original stucco siding on our home built in early 1990s with James Hardie HardieTrim materials. Happy with the final result and would recommend them.

The D.C Mullins crew did an excellent job replacing the vinyl siding with Hardy Board. They completed the job as per the agreement and made sure all the details were attended to for a quality job. They were respectful and professional through the entire process. I highly recommend D. C. Mullins.

I had water getting in behind the stone veneer on the chimney when it rained heavy and in a certain direction, and then running under the shingles and slowly dripping into the attic. I needed the stone veneer removed and replaced and the roof fixed. This was a small job and not something typical for the people I contacted.

The one downside was the time I had to wait for the work to be completed. I knew upfront it would be at least 6 months, first come, first served which was fine. Alas, 6 month timeline became delayed first due to weather and then because they had bigger and more profitable jobs to work on. While frustrating for me, I understood the reasoning as my job was small and a pain to do high up on the roof. Gary and Dave offered to let me out of the agreement if I wanted to but I felt it best to just wait it out.

Dave had his crew come by in January and I am glad I waited as they did a great job. His crew removed the stone veneer and old flashing, hauled it away and added new flashing and the Hardie siding on the chimney. They also cut out a few sections of roof sheathing that needed replaced to fix where the leak ended up and then put the shingles back in place. All in all, I am pleased with the work done.

D.C,Mullins recently replaced the siding on our house with James Hardie siding. We are thrilled with the new look of our house and have received oodles of compliments from folks in the neighborhood. The siding, the trim, the porch, and the new lights all look fantastic!

The members of the D.C. Mullins team and Dave worked carefully and diligently, putting in many long days! They were very responsive to our requests and performed a thorough cleanup after the project was completed. During these days of COVID-19 concerns, they maintained distance from us and we gave them plenty of space.

We were very satisfied with the residing process and the finished product! The crew was efficient and reached out with questions when style choices were possible. The work site was kept clean, there was little impact to our yard, and disruptions to working from home were minimal. We think that the house looks great, and we’ve had many compliments from neighbors, too, about how the siding transformed its appearance. Had Hardie board installed on our house. Also had them screen in our patio. They did a good job and very satisfied with their work. I highly recommend them.

We had new Hardie Board siding put on along with new stone facing and front door posts and we couldn't be happier with the results. We even ask them to to remove two octogon windows and replace them with larger windows and they did a great job! The crew was efficient and cleaned up everything and answered any questions we had! I would definitely use them again for my next project!

Last fall I had all the siding and trim boards replaced on the front of our house prior to having the entire house re-painted. What was there was original to the house that was build in about 1983. I had chosen to go with Hardie siding and trim materials as the front of our house faces due west and directly takes all the weather. DC Mullins was a recommended installer on the Hardie web site so I got an estimate that was very reasonable and scheduled the work. The workers were very skilled and got things completed in a few days. They took care with the project and I was pleased with the work performed. Would gladly recomend DC Mullins.

Great service and quality work. The team was really great and very respectful. They answered all our questions and really did an excellent job overall. They fixed any issue that came up even after the job was completed. Highly recommend.

The D.C Mullins crews did an excellent job to replace Masonite siding with Hardie siding on 31st August, 2019 and finished the job the following Wednesday. They cleaned out the construction debris from the property. Even though it was delayed a few months, it was worth waiting for the crews to do the job. Brian , Matt , Jason , William, Benny and Sam get the job done accurately and easy to communicate . I highly recommend D.C Mullins Construction.

DC Mullins just finished the James Hardie siding for my home. I was very pleased with the results! The team was extremely personable throughout the process. We live next door to a recent job done by this company. Unfortunately the crew screams to each other from 8am to 7 pm. We have asked them repeatedly to be considerate of neighbors but have been ignored. Owner states “ they don’t speak English” so they don’t understand when he asks them to be less offensive.
I have never seen any other contracting crew so ignorant of others.

We had such a great experience with David and his team from DC Mullins. From quote phase dealing with Gary through project completion, the team was fantastic. David definitely cares about the details, the James Hardie product isn't easy to do correctly, which is why it is even more important that David and his team are certified and pay attention to the little things. Dave Mullin really knows siding and construction He single handedly made my friend's house on the slopes look new again. Hardie Plank is a super cool product that stands up to our Pittsburgh winters but also our summers. The colors and the small accents make all the difference in the world. He is honest and hard working and he is a responsible builder. He also teamed up with my favorite ice cream drive-in Paige's Dairy Mart to clean-up the Carsen St. on the South Side.
