Jeff and his crew from CL Frey did a fantastic job putting a new roof on our house. They showed up 15 minutes early and immediately got to work. Even though it was a brutally hot day they kept going hard throughout the day and finished the job after 10 hours.
Cleanup was thorough. The hard work and politeness of the workers was impressive.

I recently had my roof replaced by C.L. Frey and the entire process was a pleasant experience. I contacted Jerry on a Friday after discovering a small leak in our roof. He came by the following Tuesday to look at my roof. Jerry was thorough and very detailed. He told and showed me everything that was wrong with our existing roof. He said that whoever installed it back in 2001 didn’t know what they were doing. There was improper flashing installed in multiple places (including where it was leaking) and that there needed to be more vents. He answered all the questions that I had. I received his bid 2 days later and told him that I wanted to proceed with the project. Jeff, the foreman, and the workers showed up before 7 AM the day of the replacement and started working. They discovered more damage than what was initially expected once they were able to get the old roof ripped off. However, they still managed to get everything fixed and completed in one day. My new roof looks great and I am very, very pleased with the high quality job that was done. I highly recommend C.L. Frey to anyone in the Pittsburgh area that is looking to have their roof replaced. When we found out that we needed to replace our roof, my wife asked some of her coworkers and three of them recommended CL Frey Construction. While we did get quotes from two other roofing companies, we ended up going with CL Frey based upon the strength of the referrals and Jerry's personal touch and we couldn't be happier. Jeff and the crew did a fantastic job of replacing the roof in one day. The dumpster bin was removed so quietly the next morning that I didn't even hear it! Trilby made sure we were informed of what to expect each step of the way. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Trilby in the office is a very patient person. Taking all my phone calls and answering all my questions with kindness and support. Jerry was very kind and went beyond to come to me with the contracts and to go over all the documents in my home. He advised me on the best time weatherwise to install a roof as I was going to try and get this done in February. He told me that the weather had to be above a certain temperature for a certain amount of time so the roof would be installed properly...Other companies were going to do it without advising me of this. He also brought the foreman who would be working on my roof replacement so I could get to know him as well.

This was for a rental property and my tenant was there when the replacement was made. He had nothing but great things to say about the crew and this company.

After a tree fell on my house I had to find a company to fix the roof ( insurance doesn't do that ). I had several companies give me estimates to do the repairs. Jerry from CL Frey was one of the companies. Jerry impressed me as someone you can trust and I was right. Not only did I have him do the repair I had him replace the entire roof, shingles, underlayment flashing etc. and all new gutters and downspouts. Needing a new roof can be very daunting. CL Frey was there for me every step of the way. The roofers did a terrific job. Even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, they worked hard and got everything done in one day. When they were finished, they cleaned up very thoroughly. New roof looks great. They added ventilation and new a fan. Also had to replace some of the wood, which was expected. Crew was efficient and completed the job in one day. They could've been more thorough on the site cleanup when finishing the job. The price was right compared other bids I received. Overall, Job well done.

CL Frey provided an easy experience from A to Z. The owner, Jerry, came to the house and listened to what I wanted to do and then provided his feedback. Jerry told me there was no reason to replace the gutters because they were high quality Alcoa gutters that were in great shape and he also said the same thing about the siding. We chose Timberline Pewter Gray shingles that look great and have a transferable 50 yr warranty. All of the paperwork process was painless. The roof contract was very basic and simple to understand as well. Trilby provided great administrative support from the office and communicated well. Greg, crew foreman, made sure everything was done correctly and took his time double checking the work on the roof and the clean up, after project was complete. In summary, high quality result for fair market value and a very smooth process.

We had an excellent experience with CL Frey Construction. The estimate was very thorough. All of our questions were answered, and we clearly understood what to expect. They were able to schedule us about a week after we signed the contract. During the installation, they worked fast and provided us with updates throughout the day. The roof looks great, and everything was cleaned up afterwards. We are 100% satisfied with their service.

Let me start by saying our house needed a lot of work we had two roofs and wanted new soffit,facia,downspouts
gutters and guards. We received a few bids from other companies in our area the first being from a smaller company who honestly told us it was to big a job for him, the second came from a big corporate company after hearing the salesman pitch we were really put off by his offer of deducting $15,000 if we signed a contract at that moment! My wife and I decided we wanted to go with a local family owned business that would be more personal for us and called C.L.Frey. When I called to set up an estimate the lady who I later found out was the owners wife Trilby informed me that the owner Jerry would be out personally to look at our house. He showed up on time on the day of the appointment and I must say was very knowledgeable and professional with his assessment of the project. He informed us he would have a quote in a few days which made my wife and I feel less pressured and at ease with him. We received the quote from Trilby two days later and as Jerry did inform us it wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive it was right in the middle. After discussing the bid with my wife we decided to hire C.L.Frey. I called Trilby and informed her but needed a little time to get the funds together she said that wasn't a problem and would put us on the schedule when we were ready. On the day the job was started Greg the Forman and nephew of Jerry's showed up early and discussed the roof with me the crew showed up at 7am promptly and our house was completely tarped off to prevent any damage to our house by 8. Jerry showed up a little after 9 and went up on the roof and discussed everything with Greg came down and assured me all was going well. The roof was completely done and grounds cleaned up by 6pm. Being that our house was older there was one problem that Greg and Jerry found when they removed the existing soffit although it wasn't a major problem Jerry informed me that I might want to consider shoring up my overhangs to prevent any problems down the road. That evening Jerry called and gave me a very fair price for the extra work and Greg and him showed up the next day to do the work personally! The 3rd day the soffit, facia and gutter crew showed up and completed the job on schedule. Hiring C.L.Frey was the best decision my wife and I could have made. All employees are very respectful and professional no swearing, fighting or arguments and it all starts from the top! We can truly recommend them to anyone that is getting a roof or any project that needs done they are truly Elite and you'll get what you pay for! Owner Jerry Frey inspected my roof personally and quickly determined what repairs were needed. He was very friendly and was very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the roofing industry. He took time to answer all our questions and explained in great detail the entire process of repair. We were provided with a packet explaining all the materials to be used , along with material samples.
His bid proposal went into great detail and was a fair accurate price, which also included a separate if needed additional costs list. He had a complete 5 man crew along with a lead roofer. The workmanship was very professional and every member knew their role. The job was very well organized along with the delivery of materials and the dumpster. The job was completed in 1 day. The haul away and clean up showed no evidence of being there. Dumpster was removed early the next day.

I hired CL Frey to replace my 28yr old roof in early November 2022.
Greg and his crew showed up on time and completed my roof in 1 day. They were very professional and cleaned my gutters and around my home when the job was completed. There was no trace of any old roofing material or nails after they left.

Team was fast and very efficient. Everything went extremely smooth. Jerry came out to give us the estimate and we had a new roof a few weeks later. We were told the team would arrive around 6:30/7am and they were there exactly on time and wrapped up by early afternoon. Everyone was kind and kept things moving. Normally you get 3 estimates to have a project done. That was our plan. But after the 3rd estimate we learned a lot about roofing and yet we weren't satisfied. C.L. Frey was our 5th estimate. It wasn't the lowest estimate, nor was it the highest. But the owner of the company came out to give us the estimate and his knowledge and honesty were what made us choose his company. That was just the beginning. Between Jerry and Trilby, they reached out several times before we made a final decision. Once we decided, Jerry told us that they'd be there in 2 weeks to put the roof on and he is a man of his word.

Greg ran the crew the day our roof was removed and replaced. He was so courteous and professional. He checked on us throughout the day. The crew was hardworking and the roof was completed in one day. The outside of the house looked like a war zone while they were working. At the end of the day, besides a beautiful brand new roof, there was not a trace that anyone had been there. Greg even took a video of the new roof to share with us.

We had to wait 2 days for our gutters and downspouts to be installed because of rain. Who knew it would be a hard rain. That's when you realize how important your gutters are! Greg came out in the pouring rain to divert the water from the house for us. Not sure another roofer would do that.

The gutters and downspouts were replaced on a Sunday because it was the next nice day. And it wasn't just any Sunday, it was Mother's Day.

Everyone was so professional and hardworking and delivered a beautiful finished project. Jerry was accessible throughout if we had questions or concerns. He took very good care of us and gave us an awesome deal on our roof and gutters. The day came for our roof to be put on ( once again they adjusted to our crazy schedule ) and the workers showed up bright and early. They worked hard all day and were very courteous. Greg was the supervisor and also took his time to repair part of our roof and communicated with my husband on how to take care of some other areas that needed work. By the end of the day he felt like a close friend and we appreciated his hard work very much. Overall we are incredibly pleased with our roof and gutters. Jerry and Gregory patched a hole in my roof last year when a raccoon decided to take up residence above my sunroom. They subsequently did a complete roof replacement/installation last month. I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I've ever had working with any type of contractor. Everyone I spoke to and met were extremely friendly. At no point in time did I ever feel like I was inconveniencing anyone by calling or asking questions. Jerry is extremely professional and it is very obvious that it was important to him that I understood everything about the products they use and how the process worked, and he checked in regularly to be sure I was satisfied with everything. Gregory led the project and was also professional, knowledgeable, and checked in with me several times during the roof installation to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Jerry and his crew were excellent! They pulled their gear out of winter storage for a roof replacement mid December during a week of warm weather. Owner came out personally for quote and to oversee work day of, his foreman was there for every step of the process. Response time was fast, crew worked hard and addressed our issues with attention to detail, and not one piece of debris was found around the house when all was said and done. They even put our Christmas light display back when finished. Front office staff is friendly and warm! Highly recommend!

The workers showed up on time and worked tirelessly to finish the roof installation in one day. Greg the foreman kept us apprised constantly of the status of the installation. The crew carefully covered the exterior decks to prevent damage. They left our yard spotless when the job was complete.
