I worked with Ian Knutson to replace all the metal trim on my home after a partially covered insurance claim from hail. After the job was completed, I noticed a few spots that needed additional touch up. Ian came out to address it and all my concerns were taken care of. The new trim looks amazing! I only wish the on-site crew did a better cleanup job - lots of paint chips and nails left behind.

We had yet another amazing experience working with Dave Knutson Siding. We hired them for two other projects on our home in the past including one to replace our roof after we had some hail damage and they have done incredible jobs each time. This time we hired them to replace all of the siding on our entire house. We had wood siding on our house when we moved in and wanted to switch to something low-maintenance/maintenance-free (in this case, we went with fiber cement Hardie board). We worked with George again to get an estimate of the project and finalize on the details. As always, George was super personable and knowledgeable. The estimate he gave us was very reasonable and he made sure we were clear on all the details like what windows we wanted trim on. He even went above and beyond to find a rectangle vent-looking decoration to put in one of our gables as a stylish accent piece. They were able to get the project scheduled for mid-November and they got us in and finished the siding work right before it got too cold to work/paint so that we wouldn't have to wait until the spring for the job to be completed. The siding installation team leader was very friendly and communicative. When they started the job, he made it clear that he wanted to hear any feedback and/or questions I had while the job was being done so that I was completely happy with the result and that I was more than welcome to walk around and review the progress while they were working. The siding turned out exactly how we wanted down to the trim details around the windows. The installation team even discovered we had some molding plywood around our chimney which could have caused further damage and/or health issues for our family if that had not been discovered and they replaced the plywood in addition to installing the new siding. They also discovered we didn't have weather guard tape under our siding so they installed that for us as well. George also repainted our utility door and garage door molding to match the trim color so there would not be a mismatch. No detail fell through the cracks. We are so pleased with the result and we feel our house looks like it's a new build. We have complete confidence and trust in Dave Knutson Siding and would absolutely recommend them for any project you need done!

Knutson Siding helped us reside our garage last fall. Ian was quick to come out to get us an estimate. Eric did the work and was very detail oriented. We had an underwhelming experience with a roofing/siding company that went door to door so I asked a friend if he had anyone he could recommend. He referred me to Chris and his team. Happy he did. Jeff was assigned with the task of guiding us and dealing with our insurance co., and after a lengthy correspondence with them, he successfully got a new roof approved. I know as an owner I don’t like dealing with that end so I’m very appreciative of his diligence. Unfortunately, it was approved at the end of the working season late last fall so we had to wait a while longer until the weather got better. Once it did, we were at the top of list as promised and it only took one working day to be completed. The on-site team was just as meticulous and the end result showed. Home was free of nails/debris and roof looks great. Overall a great team to deal with. Highly recommend!

In 1988, Dave Knutson and crew installed high quality steel siding on my then 120 Year Old South Minneapolis 3 Story Home. The workmanship was and remains EXCEPTIONAL! Now, in 2022 a piece of siding blew off home after 60 MPH wind gusts/Blizzard. I notified Dave Yesterday. Today he came with ladder. supplies and repaired/reinstalled the siding piece!

Dave Knutson Siding is now one of my favorite contractors in town! We had some small damage to the siding on our garage and I contacted multiple people to give us quotes on the job. Several contractors attempted to pressure me into making an insurance claim and trying to re-side the entire garage which really only seemed to benefit them in the end. I just needed a corner replaced and some minor patching. Chris at Dave Knutson Siding was able to help me out with doing exactly what I wanted. He replied to all of my emails in a timely fashion and said they could come out when they had a break between bigger jobs. I thought this might be in a month or so, but the very next day Chris called and said they could come out and do the work I needed done! Wow, that was quick! The workers came by and were extremely pleasant and got the job done in record time saving me some money in the process. All in all, a great experience and if I ever need any more siding work, I’ll be calling Dave Knutson Siding!!!

They replaced and repaired some fascia after a storm took it down as well as replaced some siding. We had a great experience with Dave Knutson Siding. Chris Knutson quoted our job and was extremely responsive. During the initial visit he went over the pros and cons of LP Smartside versus Hardi and recommended different products depending on what design we wanted to go with for residing our house. He wasn't pushy and helped us choose the right product for the house versus trying to sell a specific product. During the siding installation George and Eric did a great job. They worked 11 hour days without a break and got the siding / sofit / fascia done in a little over a week. Their workmanship was great and I have a lot of trust that they did things right. During the project whenever I had questions Chris was always extremely responsive and responded to emails within a few hours. A different team put the gutters on and they did a great job as well. Overall, Dave Knutson Siding did a great job and we highly recommend them.

I reached out to Knutson Siding for a new roof and wrapping of all windows and trim in aluminum. They got back to me the same day and they came 2 days later. Ian was very help and explained the project throughly. A week later I had a bid for the projects which were reasonable compared to other bids I was receiving. Lonn was very helpful in explaining how my insurance would work on the roofing and helping me navigate the process. They did a great job on my roof-- very quick, very clean, and very professional. A week later George and Eric came to wrap my windows and doors. It was a difficult project because I have arch panels above every window and door. George and Eric went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the end result. It looks beautiful and would specifically ask for George and Eric to do your trim work. They were on time every day, hard working, eager to please and very tidy. I highly recommend Knutson siding for any exterior project you maybe considering.

Dave Knutson Siding was an awesome company to work with! We mostly worked with Chris, there was no pressure, no hidden costs, the workers were extremely hard working, on time - everyday and friendly. We started out having the Knutson Co. work on the siding and gutters. But when our window place couldn't continue, Chris and the company worked with us and found someone to finish the job.

Dave did an excellent job. Really good quality and easy to work with. He wrapped an exterior wooden window frame in aluminum. Looks great. Definitely recommend him.

Dave replaced a few sections of siding on my garage on short notice, which was very much appreciated. Pricing was fair and Dave was thorough in finding the correct product color and size. I had almost given up trying to locate a company that would replace a small section of soffit. Dave and Chris were very professional and prompt. The repairs were completed soon after I contacted them. They did an excellent job of matching the style and color of the original soffit at a fair price and their workmanship was excellent.

Chris Knutson, Sergei and Luis including 3 others on their team and Fred from the lead abatement services went above and beyond to help me with my 40 year old rotten siding. The patiently jumped through all the hoops with the City of Saint Paul (who provided some of the funding). Then worked very hard to make sure all the little rotten areas were fixed to perfection. They were SO AMAZING to work with. Seriously, its hard to find a decent contractor but Dave Knutson siding is TOP NOTCH.

We had 3 windows installed from another contractor and needed them wrapped. It was a small job a lot of other contractors were not interested in quoting. Knutson siding was able to accommodate us and get the work done quickly. They did great work, communicated well and cleaned up the job site when finished. I have a 1942 house and they made it look brand new! They did an excellent job and their installer George was a great guy. I needed a glass block window for my bathroom and they were also able to make that happen and did excellent work. Highly recommended, the quality of work speaks for itself.

Dave and Randall were excellent to work with on all the details and selections of our projects. They had to pound the ice off the old deck so they could remove it. The new deck is a huge improvement. Everyone was friendly, professional and easy to approach with any questions or concerns. I had a fabulous experience with Chris, of Dave Knutson Siding when we ordered SEVENT SEVEN (!!) storm windows for our 115 year old home. This is a challenging job, several different sizes, old home characteristics which mean oddly sized windows that have settled or shifted slightly over the years....but our experience was amazing. Chris was quick to answer, strategize when we had a particularly challenging areas, was fast and his team was out working in the COLDEST weather and finished the job with mounds of snow around them. I highly recommend them! We will be going back in the spring for a few more jobs and telling our neighbors about our positive experience!

Ian did a good job redoing the trim and fascia of our house with new maintenance-free siding. Good attention to detail, even when the weather started getting cold, and the house looks great!

What can I say? Almost sorry to see the project end, these guys were so great to work with. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Work done - remove siding, install siding, new soffit and fascia, new seamless gutters, trim exterior with aluminum wrap, run electrical for new exterior fixtures, install front door.

We ordered our front door separately from Home Depot (strongly do not recommend), which showed up 6 weeks late. DKS was incredibly flexible on scheduling around this Home Depot snafu, even though we were mid project and they had a lot of work already invested.

I just felt like they went above and beyond on everything. They even called our old window vendor to get a color match on the trim and special ordered that. Everything turned out just great.

We did a complete exterior remodel of our home this year. Prior to starting, we had 6 different contractors bid on the project. Chris Knutson stood out as the most genuine of the bunch. We hoped that when we received quotes back for the project, that Knutson would be competitive and happily, they were.
Once we chose to go with Knutson for the job, Chris and Randall (the PM assigned to our build) worked with us hand-in-hand from start to finish. Everything went very well and any questions that we had along the way were addressed right away.
The new roof was done by Sam and Marcos and they were in and out in one day and made sure to clean up very well before they left. The roof turned out great and it looked like no one was ever here around the house.
The windows and doors were installed by Jim and Howard and their attention to detail was impeccable. Since they needed to be in the house to complete this part of the work, they were always making sure that they kept the rooms they were in neat as well. Needless to say, the new windows and doors look fantastic.
Brian and John installed the new siding on our house and attached garage. Since I am doing the siding on my future detached garage myself, they took the time to answer all of my questions about how the siding got installed so that I know how to do it on my own. They were very professional about everything and the siding really brought the outside of the house together. It is beautiful.
After those projects were completed, the last item to get taken care of was the new gutters. When Jim and Eric arrived, they worked with me on the placement of the downspouts and made sure that they answered all of my questions about sizing and attachment. It took them only about 5 hours to completely fabricate (the gutters are seamless) and install new the new gutters. They turned out perfect!
We loved working with everyone at Knutson and would recommend them to anyone looking to complete any of the above projects on their home.

We contracted with Knutson Siding to install a complicated siding project and also to construct an entire addition to our home and we could not have been happier with the performance and the service. The project manager, Kim Rasmussen provided fresh ideas and very useful (and money saving) suggestions and was always in control of the huge project. The subcontractors he recommended to us were superb. The work teams were thorough and really competent. The entire company was easy and enjoyable to work with. We will use them again on our next project without a second thought.

Love Dave Knutson siding. We wanted to get our roof replaced a couple years ago (2016). We had storm damage with the roof and the soffit facia. Insurance wasn’t really paying much, so we were stuck with ~70% of the costs. I contacted Dave Knutson and Chris came over. Chris is one of the best humans to interact with. He made the process sound so simple and made it personal. He even came, himself, to fix the soffit facia. I can be a little bit of a micro manager and my father in law was in construction. So together we can be pretty anal about things. Chris was a very good listener and he ensured some of the changes that we brought up were promptly taken care of.

Quality was there, for sure, but to me it’s really that drive to make things right for the customer is what appealed to me.

I know I can still contact Chris in case I have questions about roof and he responds promptly.

Highly recommend him. Plus, he’s super funny.

We recently used Dave Knutson Siding to replace 8 windows in our 100 year old Mac Groveland home and have nothing but good things to say about them. I thought they offered good pricing for the Marvin windows we had installed and their team was on-time, efficient and knowledgeable. They were extremely flexible when I added to our job last minute and went above and beyond by purchasing and installing a fire alarm in our basement to be sure that we passed the final inspection same day. We will definitely use them again next year to replace additional windows in our home. Great company.

I hired Knutson siding this summer to install 18 vinyl windows and new vinyl siding on our 1960 house and could not be happier. After getting three different quotes, Chris was the most responsive and informative guy I've ever worked with and decided to go with them.

I ran into problems/delays along the way with my insurance company, asbestos abatement and other people I had to hire, but Chris was always flexible and able to fix mistakes left behind made by the guys. His crew was very professional, worked fast, and did excellent work. 10/10 would hire again.

Dave installed siding 20+ years ago. He did an excellent job. Recently had to have a small repair done and thought he may no longer be in business like so many others. He is still around and came out to do the repairs . It looks great! A lot of companies would not have considered doing such a small job.

Had a great experience working with Chris and his crew. We got new LP siding and replaced our soffit & fascia. The also replaced a window and added a roof vent. They recommended quality products (we got Edco soffit and fascia) and the crew did excellent work. The price was more reasonable that several other bids we got. My house looks like a brand new house and garage! I'm so happy with how it all turned out. They removed the asbestos siding and put up new siding. They also replaced new storm windows for a couple of old windows that we haven't replaced on our house yet, which made the old windows look new from the outside.
