Rick and his team are excellent to work with, often working later into the evenings to get projects completed on time.

We needed to have an existing install of a 4 board fence removed and redone from a previous crew that did a lousy job. Rick provided a quote that included removal of existing fencing and installation, and also recommended that we sell any old materials to make some money back to go towards the new installation. They completed the work in under a week and their pricing was much better than the 3 other quotes received.

Rick followed up throughout the build to make sure we were happy with everything and made communication a breeze. We will definitely be using for future projects. Thanks again!

Rick came out the night of the wind storm to make sure everything ok and then sent out a crew the next morning to tarp our roof. When it was time for the roof replacement his crew showed up at 7:30 am and was done by 2:00 pm. They cleaned up wonderfully, like they had never been here. I couldn't ask for a better experience working with a contractor.

Late December we had extensive damage to our home both inside and out due to freezing temperatures. Rick and his team responded immediately and over the course of a month or so they restored our home to its prestorm elegance. His team are professional, timely and great craftsmen. Rick communicated with us on every detail of the restoration. We could not have had a better contractor. We give him 5 stars. He and his team will be our forever “go to” contractors. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One year out and our fence is in just as great shape as the first day it was completed. I am very pleased with the quality and professional I’ve received from Custom Roofing and Fencing. I run into the owner from time to time and he checks in to make sure I’m happy with the work and to see if there are any issues. Very professional. Rick has gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service and following through making sure he has built a solid product. Had a privacy fence and electric gate put in a couple years ago and I still am able to get a hold of him with any questions or concerns regarding the gate and/or fence. Great product and a great person to do business with.

Signed a contract for a 12/24 $52,000 dollar pool in October 2021. Excavation started May 18th 2022, and we’re now in September and he still doesn’t have us finished. Months of empty promises. Don’t use this company for a pool install, or your excitement will turn to anger and frustration with all the excuses. Contract stated pool would be finished by end of pool season.

Two additional family’s have contacted me about this company. Same delays and excuses we get. Don’t use this business, the owner is a con man. We’re almost at 4 month mark and pool still not finished.

Mr. Reddix and his team were fantastic to work with! We had our chain link removed and installed a privacy fence. Mr. Reddix responded quickly and was always available to answer questions that we had. His crew worked quickly and did an amazing job. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone in the central KY area!

Initially, responsive and totally wonderful. I reached out in April for a fence quote, they worked with my schedule and was out there within days - all done by email. great.

I know nothing about fences or exactly what I needed - Phillip was super gracious in answering questions. There was mention that the type of wire was unavailable amongst retailers and hard to get but they he would see what they had and get back to with a price; A week later I send another email simply stated "came on Monday for quote - haven't heard back. He mentioned supplies are hard to come by so just checking in." No response.

Fast Forward two months.
House also has issues with flashing.
My CO-workers raves about Rick and his company and the amazing work they do. I share that I felt kind of abandoned by them months ago when I was seeking fencing. But again, I was reassured that it was fabulous work and the best in town.

I re-up the old email chain; Say 'hey! you come highlight recommended, i know fencing experience was less than stellar, I am hoping it could be different this time. What's you availability' ....

within minutes receive a phone call -
I was told I was wrong and that they had told me they couldn't do it (when they clearly had not). Nonetheless, I apologize and take ownership in stating there may have been some miscommunication, maybe I heard wrong. At this point, I was still game to use the raved about roofing company...

but then was told that they would not like to work with someone who "smears there name" and thinks it would be best if I found someone else.

I spoke with someone at the company about building a fence for our home, and we scheduled a time for follow-up and to establish an estimate. I live some distance away, and agreed to pay extra to offset transportation costs, etc. However, they didn't get back in touch with me at our scheduled time or return any of my messages. The lack of communication or explanation has been pretty disappointing. I'm not in the industry, nor do I understand first-hand the extreme circumstances contractors are facing, but as a consumer my experience has not been good with Custom Fence and Roofing.

Rick and his crew installed a deck for our above ground pool. The work was fantastic, crew are professional, and it was completed in a timely manner. My husband and I are extremely happy with our new deck and can’t wait to use it this summer. I would recommend their service to anyone!

Rick and his crew did a great job installing our fence. He was very responsive to our questions and completed the job within the time frame promised despite the pandemic and very few days of nice weather. We would definitely recommend Custom Fence and Roofing, LLC!

We put our deposit, half the total cost, down in April of 2020. The estimate to begin the work was May 15, 2020 (barring any inclement weather). The work was “completed” at the beginning of July. After months of excuses regarding the availability of materials, and lack of help, the work began. We had approximately 5 post holes dug the first day, 10 the second, and the posts were set the next day. Then some material trickled in, then some more...what I’m getting to is that it took approximately a week and a half to get a very small section of privacy and chain link fence installed. As of today 7/20/2020, the project has still not been successfully completed. Update, finally complete.

The fencing was installed with nail guns, not screws. The fence was fully installed, as in the entire yard was fenced in and then wherever a gate was planned, that section of fence was chain-sawed to create a gate. They didn’t use a circular, or compound miter saw the entire time. They used a chainsaw to make ALL of the lumber cuts (which means inconsistency all around, no measurements). The gate latch hardware on the double gate was installed upside down and had to be fixed. The tops of the 4x4 and 6x6 posts were chainsawed at an angle and are varied and inconsistent. As of today 7/16, I’m still waiting on a gate latch to be installed. Tomorrow was the promise.

Today is 7/20/20. A worker came to install the last gate latch today. Apparently, when measuring, they miscalculated. The fencing, coupled with the 2x4 runners, and the 4/4 post meant that the fence was too thick to install the latch. To remedy the situation, the worker took a chainsaw and ripped one of the fence planks lengthwise making a strip approximately ¾-1 inch in width, added some small chunks of 2x4 behind that strip, and made a small section so the latch would fit. This meant that the entire plank where the gate met the fence was irregular and the tops of said plank were no longer the same height. Rick was called. He immediately man-splained to me (also a man) how the measurements were what they were, etc. and that he could have the fence redone, but that he wasn’t moving the posts. I didn’t like the tone, the fence is being redone.

All that being said, Rick has been in business 20+ years. If someone has been in business that long, they should have mastered the quality factor, not accumulated 20 years of shortcuts and tricks. My neighbor’s first fence was built by Mr. Reddix when he started. From their reports, he continues to do the same shoddy work he did 20 years ago. I guess if it’s worked this long, why change? He hires help daily, and has no consistent workers (he told me this). How are you supposed to schedule projects if you don’t know how big your workforce is on a daily basis? Empty promises is how.

I will say Rick supplied the cheapest bid, but he also boasted the most “experience”. That’s why we chose him. Additionally, he did offer to refund our money (prior to any fencing being installed) due to the wait, but we needed the fence and didn’t want to have to get on another person’s books and wait even longer. Plus, we’d only heard good things about him (prior to the fence being installed, our neighbors didn’t know it was him until he showed up the last day) and we had heard of material shortages due to tornadoes. There was no reason to believe he would have done a poor job.

Hindsight is 20/20. I would not recommend Mr. Reddix or his company. Spend a few hundred extra bucks to ensure a quality job. Mr. Reddix is nonchalant about the poor work product he provides. He never once did a walkthrough on the final project until I called him voicing my frustration. He has had little communication with us, I have had to initiate any conversations we’ve had. He has 18, 5 star reviews on here and of course only shows his best work. Maybe I didn’t pay enough for him to care, but it’s all we could afford and I believe in integrity and doing the best job you can. I can’t say the same for Mr. Reddix.

because Custom fence did a great job on my fence I had them put a roof on my house. They did a great job and was on time and completed within one day. They cleaned up and didnt leave anything on the job. thanks for the good work.
Custom fence did a great job putting up my fence. They made sure I was happy with the work and cleaned up after their self when the job was done. Rick also got some one to clear out a bunch of trees and brush that I was having problems getting anyone to clear out.

Highly impressed with Rick and his teams work. Very competitive quote within 2 days of calling and work started within the next week. The team was on top of the completion and even worked the weekends to meet deadlines. High quality and would recommend to anyone in the area needing a new privacy fence.

And of course when the wife is happy the whole family is happy!!

Top notch company that does excellent work! Rick worked with our insurance company and was there every step of the way to answer any questions that arose. The crew did great work and cleaned up to where you couldn't even tell they were ever here afterwards. Great people, great company!

This is an honest and trustworthy company, my estimate was exactly what the finished job was, I was informed well before the project of any possible additions to the estimate and the cost, there turned out to be none. Communication is great and follow up is the best in the business. Job site cleanup and conduct was perfect, I will use them again for my home projects and recommend them to anyone. Great local company to trust and keep your business local.
