One year ago this week, I handed over $30,000 to a local contractor, money I scraped together as a single mom, nearly half a year’s salary—from my insurance claim and a bank loan that had to get to be able to fix our home. It was my first time taking on a big home project, and I trusted them. They had done small projects for me before, they came recommended by my insurance company and even helped me file my claim and meet with the adjuster. I thought I was making the right choice.

I was wrong.

That $30,000 was supposed to pay for a new roof and critical structural repairs to keep our home safe. Instead, the contractor took my money and left me with nothing. Weeks would go by without a response. When they did answer, it was excuse after excuse. No work started. No start date. No proof they had even ordered materials. I waited, I begged for answers, I sent email after email. Finally, I had to pay an attorney to send a demand letter—and they still ignored me.

For over a year now, I lived under a leaking roof, watching the damage get worse, feeling helpless and betrayed.

Then today, 5 Star Roofing stepped in. They couldn’t take on the whole project, but they did something the other contractor never did—they showed up and actually helped. They made temporary repairs for free to stop the water from coming in, gave me a referral, and treated me with kindness and respect. They didn’t have to, but they did. And I am beyond grateful. Ollie and his team did an excellent job replacing my roof in 2018. I had a minor issue where the ceiling had a small water stain in 2024. Ollie did not hesitate in assuming the responsibility and quickly fixed the suspect leak area. During the repair he discovered condensation coming from a bathroom fan exhaust which could have been the source of the stain. Again, Ollie took responsibility and fixed my problem, I would recommend 5 Star Roofing without hesitation.

5 Star Roofing completed a roof replacement for our home just yesterday and my husband and I could not be more happy with the entire process. Ollie was extremely quick to come and provide a quote. His quote was much more reasonable and actually the lowest of any of the companies we contacted. He doesn't try to rip the customer or the insurance companies off. We appreciated how he didn't even ask about insurance until we brought it up because so many roofing companies assume the customer is getting reimbursed from insurance for roof replacement, so in turn they MAY raise the price just to get as much as they can from the insurance company, but not Ollie. He simply assessed our home, gave us a quote and left it in our hands without any questions or pressure. Ollie and his crew were super quick and efficient and all seemed to be happy and enjoying the day and work together. They did a phenomenal job cleaning up afterwards as well, which always worries me in regards to nails and such. We absolutely love the color of our roof and would recommend this company to EVERYONE!!! We have gas heat and Ollie even provided us a free carbon monoxide detector, just in case we didn't have one, to protect us from any future gas leak because they can often go undetected in the home and lead to serious consequences. All around such a nice and genuine guy with a wonderful business!!

5 Star Roofing earned their 5 stars yesterday! I could not have been more pleased with the work Ollie and his crew did to replace my roof. Began at 7:30 am…finished at 3 pm, including old shingle removal and clean-up! This was my first big home project since my husband passed away last year. We called Ollie to inspect our roof after the recent hailstorm to see if it needed to be replaced. He was prompt and informative. I've worked with contractors in the past and they are often difficult to get in touch with, but I can't say the same for Ollie. Always responds to calls and texts and answers every question. In fact, he handles everything himself and he is the only person that we ever spoke with. Installed our new roof while we were out of town so that we'd experience as little disruption as possible. Quality of work is excellent. Our adjuster even told us that Ollie is the most honest roofer they'd ever worked with. I would highly recommend.

Couldn’t be more happy with 5 Star Roofing and Ollie!! Had bad weather with a bunch of heavy rain. My roof started to leak and I of course went in to panic mode as we tried every way to stop it and sadly wasn’t helping but to slow the leak down. Called Ollie as I really need a roof put on ASAP. Ollie and his guys not only did a great job on my roof, but his pricing was more than reasonable. The quality of the work was excellent. Ollie went through multiple times to make sure that no nails or loose debris was left after they completed their work, even after receiving payment. I was hoping they did more than roofing so I could hire them for other jobs but if you’re looking for great roofing at a great price, they are definitely the right choice.

My wife and I needed a new roof so we called around to different businesses, They all sent commission employees to come out and inspect the roof. Commission means the higher they price your roof, the more money they make on their check. Finally we found Ollie with 5 star roofing! He is the owner and said that he would come and give us a price on how much he would install our roof for. He most definitely gave us the best price! He even worked us in his schedule on a weekend because we had a lot of rain coming in and our roof was already leaking. Not only does Ollie and his team care about quality and do an outstanding job, they took their time and painted the vents and pipe systems the same color as our new shingles! My wife and I are extremely pleased with the service we received from Ollie and the time they took to make sure that EVERY nail and piece of trash was removed from the job site before they left! I can not say enough good things about Ollie and his crew! I called them on a Thursday and he was out here Friday morning to do an inspection, called to let me know how much it would be and also sent me an email with a complete breakdown of prices. Called me back later Friday afternoon to inform me they had a cancellation for Tuesday the next week and could get ours done! After dealing with another roof company that kept giving me a run around for over a month these guys really came in and helped us out and went above and beyond our expectations! He called me the evening before to just touch base with me about what time they would be here Tuesday morning. They showed up exactly on time and kept me informed all day with how it was going. Ollie went far beyond my expectations. The major windstorm we had on Thanksgiving day of 2019 caused problems for us. We determined that our roof needed attention. We had been losing shingles for a couple years and the gutter fell during the windstorm. I did some research into local companies and came across 5 Star Roofing. I'm very happy I chose Ollie and his crew to replace my shingles. I had gotten 3 other quotes before deciding. Being a single mom, I went with the one I felt I could trust to do the job. I sent a message one evening on a weekend using google. Within minutes I got a call back. The owner told me he would be at my home on Monday for a quotation and he arrived just as promised. I excepted the bid and was told it would be about 1 to 2 weeks to the install date. I received regular updates on the progress without needing to ask. Once a date was established, I was told they would be at my home at 7:30am. At exactly 7:30am they were pulling in. They have an awesome crew where each member knows their job and does it well. I don't really know what to say. They haven't actually worked on my roof, but they have steered me toward some great contractors, one for me, and another for my mother. They couldn't work on my house because it was a small patch job, but have me a number to a guy who did a great job and beat all the quotes I had. It says a lot about a company that will make sure you're taken care of even if they don't do the work. I'll need a roof one day, and they'll get the call.

5 Star Roofing is an excellent company. There may, possibly, be other companies as good but nobody better. Ollie Rowe, owner, did an inspection of my roof soon after I contacted him. He gave me a ballpark figure for the cost of a new roof and followed with a written detailed report itemizing the cost of materials and labor. He was clear about not being able to give a final cost because of possible hidden wood damage. Some wood had to be replaced and the additional cost was very reasonable.

Mr. Rowe arrived with a crew of 8 employees. I had never seen such energetic workers. Except for a short lunch break they worked until dark. They removed shingles & felt, replaced some damaged wood, removed & replaced the drip line and added a cricket for my chimney. Several vents were removed and replaced. New flashing was replaced around the new vents and chimney. New felt & shingles were put on the roof. Ice Guard was put in the valleys. This is a 1650 square foot house with two valleys.

I never saw anyone just standing around. They were very competent and professional. When they left there was absolutely nothing left behind such as nails, general debris or trash. Impressive!

Mr. Rowe and one employee returned the next day to finish the flashing around the chimney they started the previous day. My roof looks great and quality of workmanship is obvious. I, highly, recommend 5 Star Roofing for your next new roof.

Last week, we contacted 5 Star Roofing to come look at what we thought was a leak in our roof. We could see a water spot on our bedroom ceiling. Ollie came out and looked at the wet spot in our ceiling, then he went on the roof to inspect the shingles. He couldn't find anything wrong with our shingles. He asked to go in our attic and then he saw an air conditioning line that was unwrapped and had condensation all over it. The condensation line was directly over our bedroom and dripping on our ceiling, not a roof leak at all. Very honest guy, he could have acted like something was wrong with the shingles but didn't. If I ever needed a new roof in the future, 5 Star Roofing would be the one and only phone call I will make.
