All very professional, hard workers completed a very nice job for us. Only comment was after using neighbors access road really put in some serious ruts due to wet ground. But I took care of them the next day. Otherwise left our property very clean.

Cox removed a fair sized dead tree from my back yard and trimmed out more than a dozen (2 and 3 inch diameter) limbs that had grown too close to our house. All at a very reasonable price. Also cleaned up and removed the debris. Arrived on time and finished in less than two hours. Very polite crew that knew what they were doing!

After researching, I decided to try Cox's Tree Services. Kris came out and walked the yard discussing the requested work and providing helpful feedback. The proposal/estimate he prepared was detailed, responsive to what we had discussed, and reasonable. On the day of the work, Kris reviewed all the work to be done with his crew. During the course of the work, the crew communicated with us with any questions and to make certain we were satisfied with the work being done. The entire experience with Cox's was positive from beginning to end, including any communications with the office.

I had Cox take down about 12 large trees recently. A major job for sure. The entire experience from getting a quote from the owner Kris, to coordinating dates of service with Arielle in the main office, to the actual work, was perfect. I really couldn't have asked for more. (Whenever anything came up, as it inevitably will with a project of this size, Arielle always reported the status of things to me. She is very professional, and personable. A nice combination, for sure.) Kris was great on all fronts, and really took the time to explain everything to me as the work progressed. The crew was incredibly polite and hardworking. They took extra care to clean up everything on the property.
Cox's pricing was definitely reasonable, too! I would recommend them highly!

Recently I had two large trees taken down by Cox Tree Services.
One large, large diseased oak tree was mostly over my garden beds that I cherish. Amazingly they removed the entire tree without any plantings getting damaged. I highly recommend Kris and his wonderful, professional crew. And their pricing was excellent.

They are personable, respectful, and Amazingly efficient/skilled equipment operators.
They removed two large trees--one 42 inches across the stump, with a dangerous fork lodged in another tree, and a second one (50 feet tall), lifted in sections to the street by a crane (90 foot reach)--in LESS THAN A FULL DAY.
The crane, loaders, large trucks &monster chipper make it possible to grind the smaller stuff, and haul the larger logs.

Had a very large oak tree land on our house, Cox Tree responded quickly, within 24 hours they were removing the oak from our roof. Incredible service, very professional. Highly recommend!

These guys were terrific. Came out next day on a Saturday to give me a quote. Gave me a few options for how the work could be done and also offered the best price among all the other companies I called. My job was done 2 weeks later by a hardworking and kind 3 man crew. They went above and beyond and cleaned up beautifully. They were friendly to both me and my neighbors and answered all my questions. Highly recommend and will only be using them in the future.

We have used this team twice and both times the work was done with the highest degree of care and quality. Issues that inevitably arise were handled professionally. Safety was clearly top of mind as was concern for possible collateral damage - especially important when bringing in large equipment, which was needed for one job. These guys are the best!! Our review is specifically for JD Robinson and the Crane Service provided by Cox's Tree Service. JD is not only a complete professional, handling a massive piece of machinery expertly, but he is also polite, friendly, and articulate. This job entailed removal and replacement of a hot tub in a somewhat perilous situation. JD was completely at ease and worked with our contractor in a way that left me calm and satisfied.

So much gratitude for Kris and his team at Cox's Tree Service. They removed an enormous dead Honey Locust tree from our yard (RIP Helga) in one day, after 3 other local tree companies quoted us a much higher price or just straight up said they couldn't do it. The tree was a) YUGE, and b) in a very hard-to-reach part of our backyard, which complicated the work indefinitely.

Kris was professional, creative, and made my partner and I feel totally at ease about the difficult task his team would have to complete to get this tree out. The crane they used was truly enormous -- so big they shut down our street -- and Cox handled all of the planning and logistics for the work. On the day of, they got the tree out, cleaned up the yard, and were all done before sunset.

Really appreciated the fine job Cox's Tree Service crew (Seth, Taylor and Brian) did for me, involving a few days of take down and pruning. They were thorough, efficient and left the yard all cleaned up, all for a very reasonable price.
On a personal note, everyone at Cox's is enjoyable and easy to converse with. While not a requirement for great tree work, it's still a very pleasant asset nonetheless.

Cox's Tree Service removed a large spruce from the side of my house. It was a complicated removal, as it sat tightly in between two houses and had power lines to compete with. With the use of one of their cranes, they completely the project quickly and safely. Everyone from their call service team to the guys on the ground were friendly, responsive, and overall did a great job. Would not hesitate to call them for future projects.

Professional, good communication, easy to work with. Work was done well. Only thing left behind were tire tracks in my lawn but that may be expected with tree work.

Very easy to work with and very efficient. Had estimates from other companies for a far higher price and two days of work. Cox did it in one day and they even communicated with the power company to trim the trees off of the power lines, something other companies had told me I had to do for them.

Had them cut down 4 very large trees at my daughter's home in Cville. They used a huge crane to get them from her rear yard where there is no access. Very efficient, did a great job, and a reasonable price. Cleanup was good, could have been a little better but they get my highest recommendation if you need tree work.

Paul and his crew were fantastic. They worked around my schedule and finished a huge job in one day. They left my yard looking spotless. I received quotes from 3 separate tree removal companies and they were the cheapest. Fantastic work and I will use them again.

Unusual contract challenge for Cox Tree Service. I have been VERY happy with their professionalism and courtesy with Paul Cox and all of his crew. They did a very complicated removal of two 60' trees partly overhanging my house. Not a scratch on the house. Saved wood in a pile for me as well as cleaned up site well. HIGHLY recommend. Everyone has a poor moment so one poor conversation does not describe this service.

Stay away from Cox Tree service. They are rude. Based on all these recommendations I referred them to my son. He called and got a time for them to come out to give an estimate. The driver called and literally berated him for not have a number on his house when the numbers are on the curve. Did not say I could not find you and ask for help, just criticized the fact his numbers were not on the house. Of course my son said just move on then,

Cox’s removed two very large damaged maples from my back yard, June, 2018. They did a great job. Took approximately two hours to cut down and remove. They were heavily booked, so I had to wait a bit. Well worth the wait. Extremely efficient. Reasonable cost.

I highly recommend Cox's tree services! They did an incredible job on my tree removal and at a very reasonable price. I was amazed at how efficient and precise they were in the very tight space where they had to work. I was nervous because we had to get permission from a neighbor to temporarily remove a fence and do a lot of the cutting and removal on their property but you wouldn't even know they used that space--they left it in near perfect condition.

Best option for major tree surgery in town. They can take down large trees expertly as well as install cables, limb removal etc. Much more affordable than other options.

Hired Cox Tree Service to remove 21 Bradford Pear trees that lined our driveway. The team of four completed the removal, grinding, disposal and stump grinding in one day. They were hard working, get the job done right workers. More than fair price. Would recommend them. Other family members had them do pruning and removal before us, so they are winning all our business.
