Coomber Construction

I contacted four local companies for estimates on an interior remodel job. Only two responded to my initial phone call and Coomber was the only company that gave a written estimate breaking down material and labor costs.
We hired Coomber and they were able to schedule us within two weeks of the written estimate! They showed up on time daily, and did high quality work. We are thrilled with the final product.
Since the work performed was done inside our home, while we were there, we greatly appreciated their efforts to keep the job site clean, and that their people were polite and efficient.
We are extremely pleased with the entire process, the work, and that it was done in a timely manner. We highly recommend this company!

Not all positive reviews seen here are created equal. Having had a very negative experience with this company a few years ago I continue to be more than surprised at the positive reviews posted here and elsewhere. I can't explain all of them but I can shed some light on some of them. This is a small town and there is a great deal of "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" type of activity. Jim Coomber is married to Ann Concannon Coomber. Ann's sisters are Nancy Concannon and Donna Concannon. Donna Concannon also owns NSB Homes. I see positive reviews here for Coomber Construction posted by Nancy, Donna and NSB Homes. Now maybe he did work for them but if so, I doubt they received the same treatment the "average joe" around town receives when it comes to the quality of work or standing behind his work. Also rather deceptive that these reviews do not identify the family connection.

We have had two separate, and both great, experiences working with Coomber Construction; the first a remodel on our kitchen and the second an addition to the front of our home in the form of an added sunroom. Jim and company were a pleasure to work with, accomodating and adapting to meet the vision we had for both spaces. Detailed and professional Jim and his crew kept us well informed concerning each step in the process. We highly recommend them.

Comber Constrution completed hurricane damage work on our home. Although 13 years ago, a METAL roof, I was told lasts life time. Winds up to 160mph. (Verbal by Jim Coomber) Far longer than I would be around... Well approx. 3 years ago we noticed rust coming from our "expensive" metal roof. I emailed them. Asked what sub contractor had done roof. Explained problem. I was told . don't know . Told now Materials etc only year warranty & since live beach side .. Should not have put metal roof on ????? Really?? Seriously ???
Funny as I see all over beach side & without rust.. I could understand if 40 - 60 years old..
Had checked from roof company. We were told WRONG SCREWS USED FOR BEACH SIDE... Was this our fault? Should we have known as we are Not contractors?

Had the doors, windows, deck, and exterior stairs on my home replaced by Coomber. The planning was quick and easy and the projects were started and completed in a timely fashion by skilled, reliable crews.

We recently completed a remodel with Coomber Construction and I would highly recommend them. They completed our job on time and under budget! That is not to say there were never any issues, I think when you are making changes to an older home you will encounter problems. Also, as the job progressed there were changes that needed to be made in the plan, both big and small. Every time I had a change in plans or a problem with how something was done it was addressed immediately and resolved every time. Jim and Ann are honest and work tirelessly to make your vision come to life and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

They kept in constant communication with us throughout the process, didn't try to charge us an arm and a leg, and the project was completed very quickly, even with Hurricane Irma to throw things off. I can't say enough nice things about Sarah, who responded to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. We have been dealing with another company (big box installation, use your imagination) for a different project and it has been a complete nightmare. It was so refreshing to deal with Coomber Construction!!

Jim Coomber was excellent to work with and we got high quality workmanship in all areas of our condo remodel. We would highly recommend Coomber Construction. We can't wait to use them again!

Coomber Construction has done many jobs for me and my family over the past 25+ years and has always been professional, timely, and performed quality workmanship. The most recent work was to do an exterior summer kitchen that included framing, finish work, plumbing, gas, and electrical work. It exceeded our expectations.

Had a very positive experience working with Coomber construction when I took my small three bedroom house and made it into a spacious two bedroom house. He was very good to work with me about design, layout and use of space. I now have a walk in closet and a large shower with lots of vanity space.

Coomber Construction is awesome to work with. Jim Coomber has got to be the most patient person I've ever encountered. He is well respected at all levels of the governmental office therefore able to get the job done efficiently. The quality of the workmanship is top shelf. I wouldn't consider using any one else except Coomber Construction.

We have used Coomber Construction for over 15 years. We have been so happy with their work- from a new roof, new ceiling after hurricane damage, new windows and remodeling of master bedroom and bath. They are so dependable and honest and do excellent work!

Coomber Construction provided a beautiful addition to our cottage in NSB. Three years later we are still delighted with everything that was done. The addition included roofing, new windows, and bathroom with 900 additional SF. Everything was done such that the addition blends right in with the existing construction.

I can't express how thankful I am to have found Coomber Construction. They have been awesome. I am a single female and needed a contractor to remodel a lot of things in my home. They have been professional, informative and helped me make cost saving decisions.
