We had a fantastic experience with College City for a basement remodel this fall. Communication was top-notch and any concerns were addressed promptly. We’ve completed a few house projects in the past few years and this company was, by far, the easiest to work with. We love the result and will recommend College City to family and friends without hesitation.

I worked with Jeremy and David at College City Design-Build and I would give them TEN STARS if I could. We had awful experiences with other contractors and the city permit office for MONTHS, but Jeremy's team came in and saved the day. They were a delight to work with, communicating clearly and frequently. The project was largely on-time and on-budget. The quality of the work was A+ as well.

The project was a full basement remodel -
* coordinating with a concrete company to pour a new floor
* full bathroom remodel (moved a little from its previous location)
* replacing the ugly tile-like ceiling panels
* new carpet
* adding an egress window and new bedroom

If you are looking to remodel or update your space College City is who you should trust to help! Jeremy, Buzz, and Rebecca are amazing at what they do. Start to finish was smooth every step of the way and we are thrilled with our new kitchen. They use very reliable contractors for plumbing, electrical, flooring and painting. Every person that entered my house was clean, polite and professional. The design and layout was above and beyond what I imagined thanks to their creative team. They paid attention to detail and followed up long after the project was done to make sure everything was satisfactory. We looked into other companies, but College City had that local business charm and very reasonable prices that gave us the piece of mind to commit to such a large project. I cannot wait to use them for my bathrooms and basement next.

My wife and I decided to remodel a ground floor bathroom so it would be age appropriate if we would ever have trouble going up stairs. We’ve never remodeled a bathroom before so we asked some of our friends and neighbors for recommendations. Much to our surprise, three of them recommended the same company, College City Design, Build and Remodel. We called them and Dale, one of the owners came out. He didn’t seem like a salesman. He wasn’t trying to get us to make a decision and sign a contract. Rather, it was quite the opposite. He asked questions, took a lot of notes and asked if we would like to have Rebecca, their Lead Design Consultant stop by and help us with some design ideas. She really had some great ones. Then she scheduled selection meetings for everything we were replacing and she was terrific.
We met with other remodeling companies but they didn’t seem nearly as professional or as trustworthy. College City wasn’t the cheapest but we were more concerned with our new bathroom being functional for our needs and the quality of workmanship rather than entrusting our home to a company that we didn’t feel as comfortable working with or one that might not do things quite right just to give us a lower bid.
We are delighted with our decision to select College City for a variety of reasons. Dale, the owner, kept each and every promise that he made. At first, my wife was concerned about dust but they did a great job of covering the floor leading to the bathroom and installed a floor to ceiling plastic cover around the work area. When they were done, they cleaned everything around the work area and it was spotless. Buzz, the Project Manager was better than we could have ever imagined and he’s really a good guy. If we had a question or concern, he was immediately responsive. Every facet of the job was done to our complete satisfaction and we will definitely use them again if we have another remodeling project.

We did a complete remodel and expansion (150 square feet) of our kitchen and mud room area. It was a down to the studs reconfiguration that relocated and added plumbing fixtures, added a makeup air and tempering unit for a 600CFM range hood, all new cabinets, 2 islands, a walk in mud room closet, an additional window and a walk in pantry. In addition 1200 square feet of oak flooring was refinished, 300 square feet of porcelain tile was installed and a foyer closet was removed. Despite COVID all the work was accomplished in a timely and professional manner. The quality of workmanship was superb and any minor issues were quickly resolved (there will always be issues in a complex renovation). At the end of the process, we were able to say that if we had to do it again, we would not change anything. If contemplating a renovation you SHOULD should talk to Dale and his team. Honest, fair and great quality.

Had bathroom gut and redo along with all new main floor windows and extensive woodwork / flooring done in two bedrooms. The best value I found after vetting many design / build firms in the Twin Cities. Very responsive and able to meet changing needs. I plan to do more remodeling with them when COVID and its financial effects pass.

I had a total kitchen tear out and redesign done by College City Design. Was very happy with the results. Everyone was very professional, courteous, kept us informed of the schedule. Very happy with sales person, project manager, designer and subcontractors involved. Would highly recommend.
