Coffey Contracting recently rebuilt one of the chimney's on my house.
Raymond and his crew did outstanding work, and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They demoed the old chimney, and rebuilt the new one with quality materials and expert workmanship. They cleaned up upon completing the job, and I could not be happier.
I highly recommend Coffey Contracting!

Returned contract and deposit for box gutter work (which is on their website and part of their core services) in May ‘23. Said they should start in July. Then it was August. Then it was September or October. They said it was because “all the college kids had gone back to school” and then said they’d go ahead and cash my 5-figure deposit check (which they originally told me is something they only do “a few days before they start”). No work commenced.

Then, in December, they said they’d be out to put up scaffolding the week of 12/18. I did not hold my breath luckily, because no one ever showed, no communication, nada. At the end of December, I googled them and saw another review with very similar timelines and experiences. I decided enough was enough after nine months of being given the runaround.

This was clearly not an isolated incident, and I no longer trusted them to show up, let alone do a good job. I called in early January and asked that they refund my deposit so I could move on to find a contractor that does the work they say they will.

I heard the original owner sold the business. Things seem to be going downhill. I strongly caution homeowners against wasting your time with this company. If you actually need work to *get done*, look elsewhere.

Update: To respond to the reply from Coffey, you say it was scheduled to start in January. But it was originally scheduled for July. Then August. Then October. Then I was told you’d be out to start in December. The majority of these estimates were not proactively communicated to me, I had to call and ask, repeatedly. Honesty is the best policy.

You would have to be out of your mind to hire Coffey Contracting. I signed and returned a work order on May 2, 2023 along with the 1/3 deposit check and was told that work would begin in two months. July came along, and we were then told October. Yesterday, 11/17, I called and was told that I could not be given a date and that I should go elsewhere. That was the only communication from this unprofessional horrible company I ever had. Their word means nothing. They cannot be trusted. A signed work order, which is a contract, means nothing to them. Go elsewhere. Horrible, horrible customer service and communication. Don't waste your time. Go elsewhere.
