We initially hired him to replace our siding on our dormer in our S. Mpls home but also brought up the roof idea to us because there was damage. We contacted John Smolnik with Clear Point Construction Inc., after a substantial hail storm came through late last summer, to assist us with our claim.  John met with our adjuster and was able to point out the damage.  The adjuster agreed and paid for the roof, fascia, and window initially.  John was able later get them to pay for all the siding and our entire garage door, after Allstate had initially say it wasn't storm damaged.  John worked with us and we were able to upgrade our siding and get a great roofing system.  Although we had to wait through the winter John was very communicatuve and contacted us immediately when we could get on the schedule for Spring. I had my home on the market when I had John Smolnik with Clear Point Construction Inc get involved. The potential buyer had some concerns about the condition of my roof so John inspected and indicated to me that there was damage consistent with storm damage and could possibly get paid for through insurance. Sure enough John’s findings and suggestion were accurate and insurance paid for not only a new roof, on both the dwelling and detached garage, but also for them to overlaid with new OSB, to comply with code, new gutters, new downspouts, and even NEW WINDOWS. I was blown away. What I thought wasn’t going to amount to much of anything ended up being near 30K of repairs. John stayed in contact with both my insurance company and me throughout the claim keeping me informed of any changes. The payments were just as John had explained and laid out in his contract/addendum so there was 100% transparency. If you think you may have a roof that needs replacing give John Smolnik with Clear Point Construction Inc. a jingle first. You may be saving yourself thousands.

John Smolnik stopped by our place mid-2019 having noticed several shingles missing from our roof. He told us we had a 3-tab organic shingle and that they may have possibly sustained storm damage. Sure enough, he found damage on both our garage and house. He assisted us with placing the claim and meeting with the insurance adjuster. John was able to help explain that the shingles were no longer available and a small repair (which is what the insurance company was initially agreeing to) was not going to be able to be performed. State Farm then agreed that the entire roof on both the house and garage qualified for replacement. Despite our house being two stories with a steep pitch, the roofing crew that was sent out to replace the roof were amazing, completing the job in a day. John was always prompt in answering any question we had about anything during the entirety of the process. Even after having to initially put our project on hold as winter decided to arrive earlier than usual, John, as promised, reached out to us as soon as the weather changed for the better and scheduled the job quickly. I would highly recommend John and Clear Point Construction, Inc. for any job you may need.

Jessica and the crew at Clear Point did an outstanding job on our roof, siding, and gutters. Great to work with, professional, friendly, and conscientious. I reached out to multiple companies via HomeAdvisor. John respected my preferred communication channels (text message mostly) and was prompt, helpful and clear. While inspecting my roof we found some issues and we were able to work with my insurance company to get my roof replaced. The work was done quickly and professionally. My roof won't need replacing again but if it did, I'd call Clear Point Construction first!

I met John when he came out for a repair quote for a small portion of my roof. Due to great timing, a hail storm came through and the night before John came out to give me a quote. John noticed there was some hail damage and recommended I contact my insurance company to file a claim. Not only was John the first to respond to my inquiry but he stayed, talked with my insurance company and also met with me and the adjuster to evaluate my claim and damage. John advocated on my behalf and we were able to get a claim approved. Had John not pointed out all this, I never would have realized any sort of damage from the hail. Always on time from coming to give us an estimate to completion of the job. They did a great job and cleaning up. The roof looks great.

We came to John Smolnik with hail damage on our roof (and a little on our siding), and he was able to work with our insurance company to get us a new roof, practically all new siding, AND new gutters and downspouts. We met with John Smolnik just a couple weeks after we bought our home in June of 2017. There was a big hail storm then and he came out to check our roof. He found out there was damage from hail. He also saw that the roof had been patched before. He met with insurance adjuster and long story short he got us a new roof with all new frost guard and also got the garage covered as well. All we had to pay was our deductible. Fast forward to this summer. We had some trees taken out and I saw an weird part of my roof and I called John...he showed up about 3 days later to look at my roof and explained what I was seeing. I began working with Clear Point Construction -- specifically Jessica Forsythe when she came to assess our roof and siding after we had a storm with hail. I was impressed with how detailed she was at carefully documenting the damage and her knowledge base. She did all of the coordination with our insurance company and made the process painless. Work started on our roof right away once the weather improved in March and the siding came quickly after. Jessica was prompt with all of the communication and the individuals who came to complete the job were extremely hard workers who clearly had a lot of experience. The finished product with the roof and siding is beautiful and was a total transformation.

John S and his team were simply amazing to work with from start to finish. I'm not the easiest client to work with because I have a very busy schedule and I can demand alot. John was fast and professional. He made sure to explain everything that needed to happened every step of the way. I didn't have to manage anything In the process. From the very start he said " don't worry I got this" and he did. He made sure I was updated every step of the way and never left me wondering. At one point while waiting to get his team out to repair my roof water began pouring Into my house and I called John expecting some contracted runaround. John was just as concerned as I was. He came over right away and got some emergency patches out in my house before I was even home from work. John made me feel like I was his only customer. As someone who values customer service I can say John and his guys have it. They did a stellar job on my roof. They did awesome working with my insurance company and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I would certainly recommend if you need any of their services. 10/10 would use again.

John did an excellent job guiding me through the insurance process of getting a new roof. I really appreciated his timely and thorough communications. Once again I just have to write a review for how happy I am with the results from using John Smolnik with Clear Point Construction Inc. After being very satisfied with the work they had done earlier with restoring my detached garage last Fall, I thought I’d give John a call and see if he could help out with the roof, on my home. John came and inspected my roof and showed me the video he had taken illustrating the potential storm damage to the shingles, valley metal, and metal attic vents, and assisted me with placing a claim to my homeowners insurance company. The first adjuster came out and only approved the replacement of a few shingles and some turtle vents. At that point, I thought it was a closed claim, but John told me he would write up a detailed estimate for a complete roof replacement, and submit it for insurance company to come back out, to take a closer look. Sure enough John met with another adjuster again, and not only did they buy my roof, he also found hail on the my custom bent fascia, gutters, and flat roof! If if wasn’t for John’s persistence I won’t have gotten anything. Thank you John Smolnik, and thank your Clear Point for having John Smolnik, on your team.

John Smolnik was great when helping me with providing a competitive bid for my garage roof, which had FOUR layers of shingles on it, and was in very questionable structural soundness. The crew John sent out was FANTASTIC, as they replaced the necessary rafters, grafted in rafter tails, replaced roof decking, replaced the old, rotten fascia, and installed my wonderful, new laminated black roof. I couldn't be happier, as I was in a state of shock when I first saw how bad it was, but it is now transformed. It looks AMAZING. If you need an honest and fair contractor contact John Smolnik.

I worked with John for my roofing project and he was great! I had a very old roof and unfortunately it was so depreciated insurance would only payout a portion. We LOVED working with Clear Point Construction; they replaced our roof and siding from storm damage and also repaired a portion of rotted soffit. In addition, they went an extra step and replaced our front lights that we wanted swapped out.
