I am in the process of buying a home as-is and needed to know what I was getting into. Upon the recommendation of a realtor friend, I used JW Goad Home Inspectors and I was not disappointed. We researched a number of home inspection companies. Decided to engage Johnny Goad, owner of Clarksville Home Inspection. There are plenty of satisfied clients per the reviews we read. We also reviewed his online sample reports and liked its formatting and detail the best. Johnny was patient with us because of a couple of uncontrollable delays, namely the snow storm. that in turn delayed the builder from completing a couple of tasks. Once we had the date Johnny was on the site within 48 hours. Great response time. He led our tour of all the items subject to his inspection while taking the time to explain why a couple of items were to be on the list. Johnny also asked if we are familiar with heat pumps and we told him no. He gave us an education about heat pumps especially what to expect and what to be watchful for. We certainly appreciate him taking the extra time to explain that type of heating/cooling system and answering a bunch of questions. Thanks Johnny.

Friendly, knowledgable inspector who provided a thorough explanation of significant deficiencies. The only hitch during the process was a scheduling snafu.

I requested the date for 17 April and received an email from John asking what time. I told him the preferred time, but didn't receive confirmation of the date. I later mistook the date for 18 April due to a number of other changes on my schedule- pressure washing, fence installation, flight from overseas.

When John arrived on the 17th, I told him that we would have to reschedule it for the 18th. He rearranged appointments in his schedule and was able to accomodate the last minute change and provided the service as promised, even on a date that wasn't originally planned.

Mr. Goad was extremely professional, knowledgeable and detail oriented. Took extra time to explain potential long term and short term effects as well as repair and possible cost expectations. He inspected items not required by the scope of his inspection but should matter and be considered by anyone purchasing a home.
