What a nice gentleman. He finished the vent service and then went the extra mile to offer preventative care and safety issues he saw. I feel my vents are safe and sound.

Came and cleaned when originally scheduled, performed the task for a reasonable fee and was very helpful and informative about the fireplace and other things he saw with the duct work on my roof unrelated to his task, just to be thoughtful towards his customer. Will definitely use again.
About scheduling, he only would have cancelled if weather doesn't allow. Understand appointments are tentative because of that, and stay flexible and patient if ur time doesn't work because of weather. He'll show when it works and it's worth it.

Sean came over the day we called. He did a very thorough inspection of our stove pipe discussing important repairs that should be done. He also noted safety issues with the furnace pipe and multiple vents on our roof. He cleaned our pipe and stove. We had not had a thorough inspection on our roof for sometime. We appreciate his professionalism and expertise.

Called on short notice and he was able to help my daughter with her fireplace on a new house she bought. Highly recommend and will use again! Thank you!

Sean was great to work with. His many years of experience were obvious as he helped us sort through some issues with our fireplace. We will definitely be giving him a call next season to help us with our maintenance!

So this is a Corrected and Updated Review!
Simply -- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!!!
Unfortunately I didn't dig deeper into past reviews just a month, a year and as far back as 6 yrs ago which all have the same thread --- This Guy is A SCAM!!!
Check with Office of Consumer Protection DOJ!

HE WAS GROSSLY LATE but later seeing this is his norm, if he even ever shows up, according to other reviews. And after supposedly cleaning even with a shop vac at my hearth, his attention to details is extremely lacking leaving obvious soot and pieces of creosote/ash that should have been vacuumed up for the money he was paid.

BUT When There Is A PRE-PAY for an item (spark guard) including installation AND He DOESN'T DELIVER BUT TAKES AND CASHES YOUR CHECK AND regarding the agreement to have it installed in one week, DOESN'T TOUCH BACK WITH YOU, That's A HUGE PROBLEM!!! He claims to have all the materials and make the spark guard at his shop and requires $100 up front. Trying to be patient we finally try to reach him almost two weeks later he claims not to have forgotten and it'll be at least another week or so. We explain not our agreement and needed it installed within next five days, before Saturday HE BECOMES BELLIGERENT and UNPROFESSIONAL stating he'll return the $100 and we agree.
THAT WAS MAY 23rd - now 4 weeks ago.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!!! -- Go to a Reptable, Profesional Company who can be on Time, do Quality Work and Not Need To Demand Cash to run off to use for their next fix until they need to try and act professional again to get more cash and not complete the job!

Very knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about what he does. He took the time to explain things to me and offer further advice to get the best use out of our wood stove

Sean has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I was very happy with the work performed and the training he provided. I would highly recommend.

Showed up 5hrs late, after rescheduling me for 2 days later. Only put a cover over my wood stove and brought in a vacuum then stood outside for an hour. He then screamed at my neighbor, over a parking space. At that point I told him to get his stuff and leave. He said he will charge me $200 for coming out and will send me to collections if I don't pay. Much less I can almost guarantee that he was high based on his pupils and demeanor.

Sean was professional and courteous the entire time he was at my business! Very happy I decided to use this company!

We have a signed contract from March 26, 2019 that he has still not honored. We paid half the contract up front of $500. The weather was really bad that spring and he could never make it. So we tried to be patient and a year later when I tried to get back on his schedule, he informed me that I could wait or take him to small claims court. He final came and did a $100 fast fix to make our fireplace functional but we have never heard back from him to complete the job. We are obviously not a priority to him even though I am sure he has already spent our money.

I would highly recommend The Chimney Man Co. He was very thorough, showed me some things that needed repair which I really appreciated. He's very nice and I trusted him to explain the repairs to me. Great service!! I will use again.

He knows his stuff, as he will tell you he's been at it for 47 yrs and it shows. This type of business this time of year can get pretty hectic, and although he was running late to our appointment he kept me informed and showed up after his end of day time and still did the job, and did it well. If you want your chimney cleaned or repaired and done right with some good conversation, then don't hesitate to contact The Chimney Man.

Walked me threw how to use my fire place correctly and more efficient. Would definitely recommend to anyone! Great guys that get the job done right!

The chimney man during the winter came to our rescue in in the middle of selling our house to redo our chimney crown. Outstanding job the weather slowed him down he eventually got the job done. You can depend on him.

Sean and his crew saved my best friends house. Professional, always calls back, always shows up when he says he will. Exceptional crew, fast, safe, and everything is done perfectly. The chimney man did a great job cleaning our wood burning stove and chimney after the cold winter took its toll on it. Punctual, great customer service, professional and very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to work with him and I look forward to annual cleanings now that we’ve found him!

Sean fixed the flashing around our fireplace, which had started to leak. He also put up new flashing which was needed, and repaired some roof tiles damaged over the years. He did beautiful work. He is slow, and we sometimes thought he was never going to do the work. He did though, and did it well.

Our pellet stove was down for the count. I was surprised that the chimney man and his helper could come as fast as they did. They were kind and considerate, and did a great job of getting the stove cleaned and heating our house again. We are nice and warm!

It was our first time using this company, as we don't use our fireplace very often, but we will certainly call them again next time we need a cleaning / inspection. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional.

We have used the Chimney Man for 3 years now to clean our chimneys and do repairs to both our wood stoves and our chimneys. We have always had excellent experiences with him and his team! He responds to my calls quickly, follows up after his service, and has given us a lot of very helpful advice and assistance as we navigate the world of wood heating. Plus, he's just a very nice guy!

Thank You to The Chimney Man for taking care of a stove/chimney that had admittedly been neglected. He and his helper did a great job. They were careful to keep things clean and everything was ready to go when they were done. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

The Chimney guy demo'd and rebuilt the chimney on our 54 year old house. I had called several masons and none of them even called me back. Fortunately, I found the Chimney Guy with a Google search. He came by the same day I called him! He is a true craftsmen. Outstanding quality. We could not be happier with our beautiful new chimney. It fits and enhances the character of our 1960's home. The demo and rebuild process was much more involved than I had expected. It is a big job. I wish all contractors were as customer focused as the Chimney Guy. I hope he posts pictures of our new chimney on his website.

I am saddened that I trusted this company. In November 2015, he gave me a bid and insisted I pay him $400. I did. That was the end of it. I never saw him or heard from him again until I contacted him in 2016. He did send me a partial refund for $100. I send him an envelope about twice a month with a statement on the outside (because he said he doesn't read the mail inside the envelope) that says, "Sean I can't believe you treat people like this). I haven't heard from him since last year when he sent me a $100. HOWEVER, prior to this, I had him do some work on my chimney and I was greatly satisfied and that's why I had him bid a new job, and my fault, paid for it in advance. I am sad.

Very professional and considerate. Rebuilt my fire box, restored my chimney and everything is done on time and with care. Recommend highly.

Just read other reviews and was shocked to read the same thing he did to me. Wanted $100 after giving me a horrific estimate telling me there had been a fire in the chimney! I was going south shortly after he told me this and I agreed he could take the $100 off the job when done in the summer. So glad I checked his reviews!!!

This guy is a scam artist! He charged us $100.00 for an inspection in which he told us that there had been a fire in our chimney at one point. He also mentioned there were several issues that needed to be repaired and gave us an estimate of 3-5,000 depending on what all we wanted to have repaired. We had a second opinion from a licensed professional that has been in the business for 27 years who told us there were no major issues, it didn't even require cleaning, nor was there ever a fire. I would not recommend using this guy!
