My husband and I are in the process of buying a house and I was recommended to try calling Chehalis Sheet Metal to get a free quote on a metal roof repair by the Roof Doctor. See on our soon to be home it has a detached garage with a metal roof that our inspector found was leaking and needed a repair. At first the people answering the phone were so helpful and just needed the current home buyers to call and give permission for them to come look at the roof. Once all was lined up with scheduling they finally went out last Wednesday. They recommended putting wood on top of the existing metal roof and then a composition roof on top of the wood. THIS is NEVER done. Our realtor called to find out why they would suggest this and on the first phone call was told “we would never tell someone to do that.” When our relator called to follow up after the estimator returned she was told that the metal roof had failed and the garage did need a whole roof. Also, the company told our realtor that in the morning there would be a report on what failed. Guess what? There was no report, just an estimate for a new roof.
Then, we also find out that the estimator arrived in a car without a ladder and never actually got on the roof at all. After having other professionals look at the roof, it was discovered our inspector was right in his guess that some bolts just needed to be replaced. Not sure who they were trying to take advantage of, first time home buyers or the sellers of the home, but I am disgusted by the whole situation. Even if they have us a report, I wouldn’t of trusted it since they never got on the roof and contradicted themselves too many times. DO NOT USE.
