I don’t recall ever posting a public review however I felt compelled to write this one to share my wonderful experience with Castillo Builders. After interviewing five general contractors to do a full demo and reno of our kitchen along with repairing and sealing our exterior balcony, I chose Castillo based their fair and detailed estimate. Now that the projects are complete, I could not be happier with the finished product. The team was professional and communicated regularly with me throughout the process. They used the best materials and took their time to ensure the work was done right the first time. I’m a stickler for the details and they were always receptive to my feedback. Our family is very appreciate to Alphonso, Belter, Nelson and Sherry for their teamwork. When we are ready for our next project, I now only need to make one call - Castillo Builders.

I own a property management business and worked with Castillo Builders on a large project in the Marigny replacing two big gallery decks, roofs, drainage, etc. It was a complicated job on a historic building from the 1850's and the end result was fantastic. The owner Alphonso and his team was a pleasure to work with.

Amazing owner and crew. The owner, Alfonso, and his team from his foreman to the actual laborers are very professional. We initially contracted them to repair our foundation. They were way ahead of the schedule they estimated and completed the job quickly. We were so satisfied with their level of professionalism and the progress they made, that we had them change our old pipes from cast iron to PVC. This job was done quickly as well. The team was in constant communication with us every step of the way. Prior to our foundation repair, water would come into our home from the heavy rains, but now it doesn't. We are looking to renovate our home and we will definitely work with them on that project. They provide a wide array of high quality home repair and building services at fair and affordable prices. We can't wait to see the magic they create with future projects on our old home.

Castillo Builders had repair my foundation edge crack remove and clean as needed and paint the entire wood section below the window and caulk and seal entire double window area and edges and I highly recommend it for the good service and good work thank you

Third time working with Castillo Builders. Shingled roof in 2020, flat roof in 2022, and interior / exterior home renovation in 2024. Very pleased with their work on the stamped and colored concrete patio, flood mitigation and prevention measures, dirt filler, concrete retaining wall, Hardie siding, archway entry, floors, trim, paint, electrical, windows, etc. Great experience working with Belter and Wade who showed interest in the project, the quality and timeliness of work, and the client experience. They did a very good job working on my ceilings and chaulking my tub. They did a very good job with estimates and their pricing was very reasonable. They kept in touch with me about jobs. They did a beautiful job rebuilding my front porch railing. Their painting was excellent. They did a good job redoing my kitchen floor. They protected my furniture as they worked. I am very satisfied with their work.

I normally do not do reviews but my experience with Castillo builders was the absolute worst experience I’ve had and the owner just called me thinking he was talking to another client and didn’t even know who I was! Where do I start!!! First, I called Castillo cause I needed a quote on a bathroom and kitchen remodel. The admin said she would have a project specialist reach out to me in order to schedule an appointment. Two weeks later, I get a call back saying they have had to fire admins recently and wanted my business. I was speaking with a Miss Shannon or Sharon! So I said fine but I already had other contractors waiting my call for final approval to start. She wanted to come right away to get me the quote! She did not show to the meeting and called to tell me she locked herself out of her house so we rescheduled. She didn’t show to the next one and wanted to reschedule again! Again a no show but I did get a call from another admin that apologized and said that Sharon had a medical emergency. So they sent the owner Alfonzo or whatever his name is. Instead of take any measurements he did nothing but TALK about himself and his company how I must have chose them cause they had such great reviews and blah blah blah! I was as nice as I could be but instead of listen to what I wanted cause I had already gone through it all with other contractors he attempted to tell me what would be better! Finally once it was all done, still no measurements, he said he would get me the quote by that night! Guess what!!! That didn’t happen! It’s been another two weeks and he calls and he’s like I wanted to follow up to see if you got the quote and I was like what quote? He said he sent the quote two days after we spoke and that he and my husband went over everything! I said “I don’t have a husband are you sure your taking to the right person?!” He was like oh oh I’m working right now and I must have miss spoke! I said Alfonzo I received nothing and j called and texted your personal number with no call or text back two weeks ago! He said “Oh I’m so sorry but you chose us for a reason and it’s cause we have such great reviews and we do such a great job!” I mean he had the audacity to try to sell me on his company over and over and over! I simply said “I’m sorry but if this is how you conduct business then I do not want to do business with you!”

I am telling you that this is 100% not the company to go with at all! Their professionalism is not good! They don’t call back or give quotes timely and so I can only imagine how horrible the project would go! Do NOT use this company! Way better companies out there!

Brandon is professional and the work is high quality. All aspects of the job were handled in an orderly fashion. I would recommend them.

Brandon was easy to work with, professional, and responsive to any questions, issues, concerns, and processes. The pricing was reasonable (not cheapest) but for the quality I think it was worth while.

The work crews did great preparations to try to minimize dust and mess. The work is high quality. The customer service, especially Brandon the project manager, was top notch. Any concerns were addressed and taken care of to my satisfaction.

My only slightly negative experience was the time frame. My expectation was one period of time based on conversation during the estimate but the work took much longer.

While inconvenient, I would still recommend Castillo for future projects. I do feel the good outweighs the minor inconvenience of time.

Castillo Builders did repair work on our house after being struck by lightening. They were great at coordinating the project, coordinating scheduling with our plumber and once the project started it was completed very quickly and very well. Everything is back in working order and looks great. They took excellent care to protect our house in the areas that were unaffected by the damage to reduce additional costs. Brandon is very friendly and responsive with messages and calls and was instrumental in helping us with our insurance claim. Also very easy to work with as things inevitably changed during the course of the project. We will use them again for future (hopefully next time planned) projects!

Castillo Builders has been excellent to work with. Had a duplex that needed a lot of work and updating. Wade, Belter, Nelson, Sherri, Terri and everyone was great. True shout out to both Wade and Belter who I had the most contact with! They are both amazing. This company works extremely hard and is very trustworthy. They always kept me in the loop of any issues that needed to be dealt with along with multiple options to remedy a few unexpected situations. Castillo has exceeded expectations! We were looking to have 1 damaged pier replaced and called numerous companies around the area and while 5 companies came out, Castillo was the only one to actually send a quote. Brandon was our main contact in which he kept us updated more than any other company ever has! He even pushed our job to get down the day after approval since we had been trying to get a company out for almost 2 months. They kept us updated on the job with numerous photos (these are just a few) and did a wonderful job cleaning up. This company is HIGHLY recommended and major kudos to Brandon!!

I used Castillo Builders to replace my roof after hurricane Ida. I couldn’t have been more pleased. The quick response, customer service and repair were stellar. Juan was our contact and job foreman. He was so courteous and conscientious, always responding quickly to any questions I had. He delivered what he said he would. The people doing the roofing work were respectful of my property. The cleanup from the roof replacement was great. A five star rating is well deserved. And, thanks Shari for the administrative help.

Castillo Builders did a wonderful job on our roof and they were very reasonable. We worked with John Canamar who was extremely professional and personable. The team of roofers were quick and efficient. And after finishing the job they left it spotless. Also, our AC unit which is on the roof needed a new stand. There was some difficulty finding a new one and because of this John took it upon himself to make one for us and it came out amazing. We really appreciated him doing that. We will definitely recommend Castillo Builders to anyone and will be using Castillo Builders for our future projects.

I hired them to put new roof on my rental property in uptown New Orleans and needed it completed within one month (by the end of July 2021). I was concerned it might not get done in time due to the non-relenting daily rainstorms, but we eventually caught a break from the rain and Wade got the job done in two day and came in on time and on budget. The roof looks great and the workmen did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. I have also looked into having them replace all the old wiring in this old apartment duplex and the person they sent over to give me a quote seemed very knowledgeable on just how to get it done in just a few days and to consolidate electrical boxes and wire runs so that looks better after than it does now. We had a great experience all the way around with Castillo Builders and we cannot wait to have them do more work for us. I called to request an appointment and was contacted the next day. When John came to our home, he explained to us everything we needed to accomplish in order to get to the building phase for our exterior garage that was ruined during Zeta last year. He let us know that he could get started on our roof first and he was with us every step of the way to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. The roofing team showed up at 7 am and was completely done before I even came home from work that day! (And that was with having to stop at some point during the day/work for rain intermission!!). The cost for our roof was way less than I was expecting and even lower than another contractor's estimate for construction hours only to tear down one wall. I wouldn't blink an eye before calling on John and Castillo Builders for the rest of our work. I've already recommended them to several friends for roofing work. Sadly, I guess they can't please everyone. Thank you, Castillo Builders!

Castillo was the most affordable roofing quote I received out of the 4. Within two weeks I had my roof replaced and the leak in my porch was fixed. Two weeks later I noticed a leak further down on the porch (likely due to poor design / shallow pitch), their office was very responsive and sent someone out that week to take a look at it and this problem was resolved within days. I would highly recommend Castillo Builders, quality work and very responsive throughout the process

This spring we hired Castillo Builders to add additional windows to our house. They installed 6 new windows, and we are very pleased with the work. The windows look lovely, adding much needed light. Before hiring them, we got 3 bids, and they came with the most detailed bid and the lowest price, but did the job in a truly professional way. There were some stops and starts because of weather and building supply shortages, but they kept us regularly updated. And when they finished, they took away every spot of debris and even power-washed the porch. We highly recommend Castillo Builders.

We used Castillo Builders to make some repairs caused by Hurricane Zeta. they were quick and efficient and worked with us to make sure that all of the repairs that needed to happen were done without going over budget. they were also incredibly communicative and helpful throughout the process.

Great company to hire on and do our roofing. We had issues with our solar panel company not giving us accurate timeframes, and Wade/Castillo Builders were able to work around the short notice we were given. Pricing was fair and the roof looks fantastic. Honest, straightforward and no false-upselling of useless services or materials. I hired Castillo Builders for several projects at my home and Alfonso and his crew did a great job at a very reasonable price. I first had Castillo level my home in the Lakeview area of New Orleans and Alfonso had his crew out to the site the day I signed the contract. The job was performed professionally with very little wall cracking (cracking is unavoidable in older homes but leveling with care can reduce the amount of cracking).

Secondly, Castillo repaired an area of waterlogged stucco and repainted the area in the from of my home. Again, job well done with timely service. And lastly, Castillo repainted the interior of the house and repaired some of the wall cracking mentioned above. Again, Castillo was timely and performed the service at a very reasonable price.

I will use Alfonso and his crew again when I need good valuable service at a fair price.

I had called to schedule an estimate for a tear-down and rebuild for my sunroom. The appointment for the estimate was scheduled for MLK day (01/18/2021), because I had that day scheduled off. I had representatives from Castillo Builders call me not once, but twice to confirm the appointment for 1/18/2021 for 9am only to be completely blown off that day. No call. Nothing. It was only after I called an hour after the scheduled time that morning that someone apologized and stated that they would not be able to honor they appointment they, again, confirmed. The reason they gave me was that someone couldn't get a rental car. A different person called later and gave a completely different reason why they couldn't keep the appointment. Completely unprofessional. One would think that if you couldn't honor an appointment, that you would call ahead of time, or at least at the appointment time to say as much so you aren't wasting the other party's time.

Mistakes happen though. First impressions are important, but sometimes things happen. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. So I rescheduled. They asked if they could come later that week. I said that I was only off on MLK day, that's why I scheduled the appointment for that particular day. I work in healthcare during a worldwide pandemic. I'm working all day. We agreed to reschedule for the following Saturday (1/23/21) for 3:30p, which would give me enough time to get home after my shift. Again, no call; no show. They have wasted my time not once, but twice. It is now Tuesday morning (1/26/21) and I finally get a phone call from someone from the company. It is the same guy that had confirmed both appointments and called to apologize and reschedule the first appointment. He told me he just got some notice regarding my appointment and was calling to apologize and reschedule.

I would consider myself a patient man. Yet, I found this behavior was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It's unbecoming of a company that I had considered to be professional based on previous reviews and had done good work based of their portfolio. I just told the man that I was no longer interested and that I would find a different company to do business with that wouldn't habitually waste my time.

EDIT: I received a follow up from the company apologizing for the service. It came across as sincere, so I am willing forgive. I don't have any days off in the near future, but I stated I will call them when I get some time off.

I did lots of research on roof repair companies prior to calling Castillo Builders and I'm very pleased with my whole experience! I spoke with Alfonso (The owner of the company) from day 1. He was quick to respond and followed up after. If I noticed something was wrong, he was quick to send someone out to take care of it. Gabriel (Repair work) was great and worked fast. Highly recommended 10/10!

Castillo Builders performed a “facelift” on our Lakeview townhome with the end result being an exterior facade renovation that really makes the house “pop” ... and all performed professionally, quickly, and at a very reasonable price. Our work with Castillo’s sales/project manager, Mr. Wade Holden, was professional and responsive ... and he maintained excellent communications throughout the project and in follow-up. Mr. Holden’s suggestions and solutions greatly added to the success of our final project. Also, the Castillo carpentry and painting work crews were professional and detail-minded throughout the project. From prep-work, execution, and daily cleanup, the work crews performed to our daily satisfaction.

I hired them to do some work, and we had some problems with what was done. Instead of shifting blame, Castillo Builders acknowledged their responsibility and did EVERYTHING it took to make it right, even doing some extra work to fix things that weren't in the contract.
