I was really impressed with the work done by Capitol Improvements. One day my area encountered heavy winds, and I lost quite a few shingles on my roof. They were able to come out the next day to cover the roof with a tarp to prevent leaking during possible rain storms. During the next few days, they provided an estimate and was able to come out and replace the entire roof of my townhouse at a very reasonable and competitive price. They also replaced the cheap shingles used by the original home builder with 50-year shingles, which means I will not have to replace the roof during my lifetime. I couldn’t be happier!

Phenomenal job top to bottom. Met with me to understand what i wanted and not what they wanted to sell me. Gave me the time i needed to make my decision unlike many of the pushy improvement companies out there. Finally they delivered on all that was promised. Now for what i had done, we had a old door that lead to our deck that needed to be fully replaced with a custom option. the work and quality of the door is top notch.

My gutter ripped away from my house, pulling the wood off behind it, during a recent snow/ice storm. Capital Improvements quickly came out, pointed out some other gutter defects I had also noticed and gave a quote. They got the job done as soon as the weather got a bit warmer and now I have beautiful all new gutters and won't have to worry about another section ripping away during the next storm!

Capitol Improvements built a deck for my above ground pool. I've never worked with a company where the owner "Pat" was so hands on to make sure everything was handled well. He sent text messages to keep us posted as project went along. We are very pleased with deck, it is beautiful and can't wait to use it this summer. The guys who built/installed it were great. They worked thru the cold to get the job done. John the project manager was great with helping us choose the best product and design. For too long I feared every rainy day because the roof over my townhouse was getting old and we had a couple leaks in the attic.
But I am happy to say that’s all in the past. A brand new roof was installed a few weeks ago and I love it.

Pat, the owner of the company, came over to my house and sat at my kitchen table to explain the whole process and show different material choices I had. There was an honest and ongoing communication throughout the whole process.

There was no pressure at any given time. The only issue in the process was that the rain would not stop for a week before they could finally install the new roof.

All communication with the company was very professional, very cordial, and everyone was easy to reach out and talk to when I had questions. I am grateful to the crew who did the work, they were all very nice and installed the roof quickly. They did an excellent job.

In summary, what I appreciate most about Capital Improvements is their quality work and ability to make you feel valued and cared for like if you were family. Their pricing was very affordable which was an other important reason for my choice.

Capitol Improvements did an absolute wonderful job on my roof. Lance was very professional and did a great job explaining everything I needed in great detail. The work was completed in the time they gave me and it was a top tier job. I’m a 100% satisfied.

Not a great experience.

Contract was signed in July for a new door. The door was not installed until November. Got the runaround from the owner with two delays to install. When I asked why, he just shrugged it off and acted like it wasn't a big deal.

Door showed up to our house with no prior communication. Delivered in our garage only to be notified that evening our install was pushed ANOTHER two weeks. At this point, I was very unhappy and talked to the owner and project manager. Project manager came and picked up the door and stored it until install day. He let me know one of the installers had a family emergency so schedules are shifting. The owner told me he would make up for it with a discount and come out once everything was done.

Once the door was installed, they had to come back to fix some things. They literally had to shift the entire door in the frame because you could see outside through the bottom of the door through the seal. It took a very long time.

Once they were "finished" I looked at the door and found you could then see outside at the top of the door. They fixed one problem and created a new one without even checking to make sure everything was good to go. They did some makeshift thing to fix the top. At that point I just wanted to be done with it.

The touch up paint guy came and could only paint certain parts of the door. Left a razor blade on the floor at one point. Not my favorite with two kids running around. He went to leave and I noticed a bunch of places that still needed fixed. He has to gather all his stuff and come back in.

Owner never showed when everything was said and done. He called and took a very small amount off the cost. He only recalled a few of the problems so I laid out everything that occured. He once again shrugged things off and said "at least it's installed".

I chose this company because they came in at a good price point. I wouldn't choose them again or recommend them to anyone.

Reason: Over the past month, the company has really tried to remedy the situation. They had a ProVia installer come out and check the door as well as tell the installers that the weather stripping was not correct. He proceeded to then install the correct stripping. They registered the door for warranty and refunded us what we felt was appropriate for the fiasco of this door install.

There continued to be last second notice in communications but I really feel if the project manager would take lead on communications, this would not occur.

Thankful it's done correctly now.

In the beginning, I received several proposals for this job. I chose Capitol Improvements’ proposal, because John focused on my wants/needs and vision. He created a hand drawing while onsite, then later that day sent me a professional drawing. The deck drawing not only matched my vision, but made me visualize what my first deck would look like prior to it being built. John did an awesome job presenting the materials/pics/cost for me to choose for my new deck, and updating me throughout the process. He was always a call/text away for answering any of my questions. The total cost of the deck was a fair price. Higher than some of the proposals that I received and lower than others. However, after thoroughly reviewing and comparing the other lower/higher proposals, Capitol Improvement’s proposal stood out above the rest. It was John’s customer service skills, quality, the breakdown, drawing, and professionalism that I experienced from the entire team. I was super excited and confident to approve Capitol Improvements’ proposal and proceed with my biggest investment for my home this far. John was awesome! Pat was awesome! I didn’t get a site plan for my home at closing, so I didn’t have one, and the title company didn’t have one on file for my home. Without delay, Pat paid for me to get a new site plan done for my home from a survey company. He also had the survey company send me the site plan. This was big of him! Now, I have a new site plan for my home for my own records! Thanks again Pat! I can’t thank you enough for your kindness. Melissa was awesome as well throughout the process. From demo, permit approvals, to building my new deck took a few weeks. The workers were friendly and professional. They did a great job! It’s everything that my family and I wanted. I absolutely LOVE my new deck! It’s so attractive and compliments my home. My family, friends, and dogs love my new deck. The gate at the top of the stairs of my deck was one of the best features, especially to keep my dogs in the yard. I’m very satisfied with the results. Wonderful company to work with, they come prepared! Very helpful and use great products (Cambridge Pavers). I worked with John Brill from start to finish and from the first meeting I knew I found the company to put a patio in! He worked with me with the homeowners association and throughout the project. When final approval came through he had a team out (very efficient) and finished everything in three days. Looks great. Looking forwards to years of use. Definitely would recommend.

We had an excellent experience with Capitol Improvements for our Gutter and Coil wrap project for our home.

Our project began on June 19th when we scheduled our deposit for service. We were scheduled for measurements on 06/26/24. 07/09 the first team came to remove our old gutters and the service was completed on 07/17/24.

The owner Pat was a pleasure to work with. Any questions I had were answered in a prompt and timely manner. Any problems or concerns I had regarding the project were immediately rectified. The team did an excellent job cleaning up after the service and handled the job quickly and efficiently. We are happy with the quality of service that we received and would highly recommend for future use.

Capitol came highly recommended by an insurance agent. I needed a full roof replacement and had no clue what was involved. Pat the owner, personally came to explain the process from beginning to end (very personable and my dog Laylah fell in love) and I was sold, didn't need to vet any other company. As with all things in life… we must leave room for the unexpected and during the project there was an unexpected mishap that occurred for which was immediately remedied by the Capitol Improvement Team. They took ownership and accountability and made sure it was no additional expense or stress on my end. How they addressed the matter was another demonstration of the integrity of the Capitol Improvement. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with craftmanship, quality of the materials used, and services rendered by the install team.
Lastly, this project would not have been a success without the person who was diligently working behind the scenes, who I never had the opportunity to meet in-person; but made sure every administrative aspect of the project was submitted, reviewed, approved and processed in a timely manner without flaw or error… the General Manage, Melissa. From the late night call backs to the warranties and payment options, Melissa is a Godsend. Please trust me when I say, I am still able to contact Melissa and Lance to this day when I hear a noise on the roof or the house settling. Melissa is dedicated to making such the customer stays informed, happy with the project and all the require documents and permits are in order and provided to the customer. Melissa is truly an asset to the Capitol Improvement and takes pride in her job and providing excellent customer service. Every member of the Capitol Improvement family made me feel like a valued customer. I was treated with respect and professionalism every step of the way. Everyone I encountered welcomed me with a positive attitude and sincere care and concern for our project.
If you are expecting me to rate Capitol Improvement on a scale from 1 to 5 or 10, I would have to say it is not possible. Capitol Improvement is in a league of their own. They have strived to set and maintain a Standard of Excellence that is hard to find these days. My house was built in 1966 and needed a lot of exterior work. I chose Pat and Capitol Improvements since they could take care of all the facets of the renovation. Pat walked me through the process and created a project to replace windows, roofing, siding, and gutters. In addition to the house, I had a redwood shed that needed a new roof and that project was included as well.

During the renovation, they removed rotten soffits and fascia boards and well as bad roofing plywood. Each team was very skilled at their portion of the project and Seth the project manager kept me informed of progress and next steps

I am very happy with the results. The house looks great! The windows look great and being vinyl, they will never need painted. I also noticed the humidity levels inside have gone down and the HVAC system is doing a better job cooling/heating the house.

I called Capital Improvements to get a quote to have my siding replaced. Lance came out and went over all my options. He was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He explained the trim that I might need and showed me what the trims looked like and also explained the insulation they put under the siding. I also said I was planning on getting a new sliding door and he told me they could also do that. I was very pleased to get everything done at once. Seth arranged all the work at the house and they did everything in 2 days.
I plan on getting some inside work done the first of next year and plan on having them come out to see what I will need.

They put on a new roof years ago and used them again. They replaced our old front porch columns and railing with vinyl. Replaced old tile kitchen floor with a floating laminate one and re did and expanded our back deck. Jason was great to work with. We had two Walter crews working. Walter and his guys went above and beyond doing the deck and porch. The other Walter and his son did a fantastic job on our kitchen floor.

Our experience with Capitol Improvements actually started about a year ago. After shopping several roofing companies, one of which was very aggressive and overpriced, Mitch from Capitol improvements came out to give me an estimate. Mitch’s customer service, demeanor, knowledge and professionalism let me know within 5 minutes that I would be using this company and their pricing and reputation online solidified it for us. We had to postpone the installment but the staff did an amazing job keeping in touch. Fast forward to this year, we were ready to take action. The process (picking colors, financing) was simple, the delivery and install was speedy, and they did a great job! My roof looks great and I adore the new gutters! Pat Jewell, the owner is amazing and has worked with me every step of the way!

The roof inspection was organized and detailed. Lance’s attention to detail exceeded the inspection conducted by my insurance company. Additionally, Lance took his time & explained EVERY step of the roof replacement coupled with educational materials for me review prior to deciding to sign a contract. Once the job was completed (roof replacement & painted the ceiling) Lance returned for a walk thru. I have never had a contractor provide such personal attention. I hired Capitol Improvements to replace the siding and gutters on my house and from start to finish they were fantastic. Pat (the owner) has a nice touch in the fact that he personally called me and come to find out, he was born in the same neighborhood in the city as I. Great price point and Mitch, Austin, and Seth walked me all the way through the process from beginning to end. I salute these cats for their attentiveness, confidence and reliability. Also, not to forget the actual boots on the ground, the install crew were efficient, prompt, and cleaned up very well! More than enough men for the job and performed exquisitely and in great detail to all of my concerns and some I had not noticed. They were well trained and true roof experts. These cats, from Pat to the crew, are the real deal. I was impressed. I do not usually write reviews ( as evidenced in how long this one is! LOL!) but I was truly blown away. Even with several roof replacements in the past few weeks because of wind damage, I HAVE THE BEST LOOKING ROOF IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD! SALUTE!

Their estimate came in several thousand less than two other roofers in the area using the same materials and methods. The work was done on time and quickly and appears to be top notch.

I chose Capitol Improvements because the owner was incredibly friendly and informative. He made the process easy and even fun. The crew that replaced my roof was super professional and went above and beyond to help me figure out the venting from my bathroom fan that vented to my attic. Plus they came back later when I had to repair my plumbing so they could install the pipe vents through the new roof properly. The siding crew was also amazing. They transformed my house into a showstopper and then again helped me out later when I replaced my front porch and needed some extra trim to finish it to match the rest of the house. I can't recommend them enough!

I was quite pleased with the job that Capitol Improvements did. We got a quote from several companies in the area, and Capitol Improvements seemed like the greatest blend of quality and affordability. Once we settled on the color and placed the siding order, it took about 6wks for delivery and installation, but that was only because we started the process right in the thick of their busiest season; Lance, our Sales rep, set the expectation that it could be 4-8wks, so we knew what to expect at the time we initiated the order. Upon delivery of the siding materials, it was up and completed in less than 48hrs. I was impressed with this timetable, especially because stormy weather interrupted the first day of work! Capitol Improvements is flexible in their outreach and coordination… whether you’d prefer text, email, or phone call, they are versatile in how they communicate with their clients. Every interaction I had— with the sales team (Lance), project scheduling coordinators (Austin and Seth), installation team, billing (Flora), and even the owner of the company (Pat, who placed a courtesy call after the job was completed) — was professional, friendly, and courteous. It is clear to me that this family-owned company is passionate and effective at what they do. Overall, my wife and I are very satisfied.

I chose Capitol Improvements because the owner came out and did the estimate himself. He was very informative and didn't try to sale me anything I didn't need. He provided the estimate right on the spot and followed up by text and email. Furthermore, he was very friendly and didn't pressure me into making a decision. He showed me several before and after pictures of work he had done in the area.

I had residential windows replaced about a year ago. I recently noticed a crack in the kitchen window. Pat had this window ordered from the manufacturer and replaced in a timely fashion. Will definitely consider Capitol Improvements for my future window replacements
