Very satisfied!! This company is a hidden gem. I found C&R Custom Framing on Craigslist and was very cautious due to a couple of bad experiences with contractors that we’d found on there in the past. A once bitten, twice shy - sort of thing. Anyway, I had gone about getting different quotes from other companies. All we needed was for the deck boards and railings to be replaced – not a whole new deck. The frame and substructure of our deck was still solid. I’d done my research and knew close to what the material cost would be. The quotes we got were all over the place. We even had one of the more well-known companies that you hear a lot on the radio, come out and give a price of $35k for all composite, or $18k for wood and no railings... Our deck isn’t huge, but they all sounded expensive for a 665 square foot deck. In the end we decided to go with C&R for two reasons. First, they had the most reasonable price, and secondly I couldn’t find any bad reviews or complaints against either the company or the owner (Ray Ware). These include the BBB, Angie’s List, Home Advisor, Google, Yelp, DPOR, etc. However, I’ll be honest, even after we decided to hire C&R, I was still a little apprehensive because I really didn’t have an idea of the quality of work they would do. Some contractors build to the minimum requirement and don’t really care about customer service or satisfaction after they have a contract in hand. Rest assured, C&R is not that kind of contractor.

The pictures are worth 1000 words, but what they don’t tell you is how professional, courteous, dependable, and meticulous Ray and his crew were. They showed up every day until the job was done at the same time and worked together like a Swiss watch. When my wife had a couple of requests for minor changes, they were very accommodating. The attention to detail was amazing too! For example, after they were done with the installation, they walked around with a spray bottle and rag and wiped off all of the white surfaces and swept the deck off. They even took the hose and sprayed it clean to get the boot prints and dirt off. The last point I’ll make is that a couple of their guys were smokers (not judging, just a fact) and walking around the yard and house after they were done, we couldn’t find a single cigarette butt! They are true professionals with a great work ethic and their prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for a great deck or shed, give them a call. You’ll be glad that you did!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
