Burns and Scalo is the gold standard of roofing. We have a historic property, yet, for a commercial job, we have a relatively small property. Burns and Scalo (Adam) made us feel as if we were their most important customer. The job was done impeccably without incident. It is a gorgeous roof, yes, but the job was done right. The workers were skilled, professional and polite. They cleaned up each day. Adam was the steady hand we needed to get the job off the ground and Ryan took it from there. We look up at the roof and smile and thank Burns and Scalo every day. All you need is one poorly done roof (we had one of those) to appreciate the quality craftsmanship and professionalism of Burns and Scalo. I wouldn't go anywhere else--ever.

We had damage to fascia from the wind storm over the weekend. Burns and Scalo responded to a request for appointment in one day and was out to our house a day later to make repairs. I highly recommend this company.

Fantastic experience. House was struck by lightning and caught fire. Needed to patch the roof in the meantime while insurance figured out a plan to repair. The two person crew showed up a couple hours after speaking with the service team and quickly tarped the needed areas. I’m not as worried about a week of thunderstorms while we go through this repair process.

The communication was great and they showed up exactly when I expected. The crew doing the work was very respectful, they did a great job to make sure the roof was repaired correctly and did a great job cleaning up. My roof looks great and extremely pleased with my whole experience. Thank you

I wish I could provide a review of their work. They were eager to have someone come to evaluate our roofing issue so we could get an estimate but despite multiple follow-ups with the estimator and the office, I've never received a call-back or an email much less a proposal for the work.

Fixed our Terra Cotta roof at a reasonable price, were friendly, did a good job, and took pictures of their work.

All non speaking English workers..when it rains hard the rain pours off roof onto yard and covered deck..never had it happen on old roofing...horrible ..most likely didnt install correctly. ...Men who did the job could understand me when I tried to explain/tell them something....they tore the old skylights out and did not prepare the inside rooms with tarps or whatever for all the debris, dead bugs, nails,, which came inside onto the flooring, tub, counter tops., etc....also - why in the world wouldn't they leave some extra shingles for her to have in case there was a need to replace any that a storm could remove?????she paid a lot of money for bad job.....

The roof and gutter job was executed beautifully by Steve Hall, Kenny and crew.Great team work. I especially appreciated the emphasis on customer satisfaction and attention to detail. Crews were extremely professional, friendly, and reliable.

I am extremely satisfied with my experience with burns and scalo roofing. I have box gutters on my house with one side that was rotting and on the verge of collapse. After contacting probably a dozen other companies-some big and some small- burns and scalo was the only company that I didn’t feel like was ripping me off. Everyone else said I’d need a whole new roof, cut the box gutters off, etc etc to the tune up nearly 30k. Burns saved my box gutters, assured me the roof was fine, and saved us thousands of dollars. I’m so glad I called them. When we do need a roof, I’ll be calling them again!

Ray came out and did an awesome job on our roof and was done within an hour. He not only fixed our initial issue but also took additional preventative measures to make sure it doesn’t happen again!

We had a roof replaced by David Hood not being told they were bought out. They came and replaced it did a shorty job left garbage all over a our yard. It took continuous calling to get them to come back to fix what was wrong because the original group went back down south. We were also not told they sub contract work out. We are now having problems again and we are not even a year out! And they are not calling us back. I would NEVER recommend this company

Took them 3 months to find me a Chimney cap. When they finally installed it, it was 2in too small and leaks down the chimney abounded. The manager claimed the issue was with "flashing" but after going up there and looking at the job they did, it was clearly the wrong cap size.

Very please with Burns & Scalo Roofing they are the best. I received a number of other quotes but the one from Burns & Scalo was very reasonable and detailed on what was going to get done. Ground was spotless after they less. Would recommend and use again.

Burns & Scalo Roofing recently finished a new residential roof, gutters, gutter guards and skylight on my 23 year old home in Wexford, PA.  Project manager Gabe & his crew did an outstanding job.  They were consistent in their responsiveness, timeliness, attention to detail, respect of my property, and most importantly their work product.  Gabe & crew treated my house like it was their own.  My roof has been finished for just a few weeks and I’ve already gotten numerous compliments from neighbors.  I recommend Burns & Scalo Roofing with full confidence.

Wonderful, family owned company! When we were going through the process of buying our house, we were told that we might need a new roof so I reached out to Burns and Scalo to have them come look at it with our inspector. Knowing that time was tight, John sent out a colleague within 24 hours of the request and he was extremely thorough in his inspection and his explanation of what needed to be done. We had a quote within another 24 hours which helped us get what we needed from our sellers to get our roof redone. We haven’t had our roof done yet, but when we do, we will use Burns and Scalo!

They removed our garage and carport roofs last week. The workmen were great. They cleaned up very well each day and actually saved us some money by explaining why we didn’t need one of the gutters and downspouts. With all of the recent rain, the garage and carport are dry.

I had an issue where it was basically raining inside my attic. They came to give an estimate and I was told they could be out in 2 weeks. 5 months later, they just called me to say they would be out tomorrow morning at 8am. So not only did it take half a year for them to fit me in but they didn't even give me 24hours notice. I cancelled the appointment.

Mistake #1: Had them come Dec. 16th, 2016 to clean gutters & inspect roof. Worker took 2.5 hrs to caulk a gutter leak WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR and got bill for $716. Like an idiot, I paid it. To this day, public relations man for B&S admitted I should not have received such a bill. And by the way...that area is still leaking. Was told they don't guarantee repairs after 30-60 days (even if you have paid over $700).

Mistake #2: Besides mistake in calling them again after above-mentioned problem, they came here 9/28/2017 to repair another area of the roof whereby water was coming into bedroom. Charged me $268 for caulking. Like an idiot, paid it. Water still coming in, recalled them, they came out and re-caulked. Water still coming in and they won't refund money even though the problem was not fixed during their 30-60 day "guarantee" window. Although they initially returned my calls of complaint, now they aren't. Agree with other reviewer who said they don't stand behind their work. I told their PR man, "Your company is trying to get money off of people to help pay for a big new building" they are building in Pittsburgh, and his reply was, "You are probably right". Wish I could give negative-star review if I could. Would love to know the company another reviewer posted here, who had to amend for B&S mistakes.

I wish I could break this into three reviews. First, Scalo solar was fabulous to work with and I love the finished product of home solar panels. Great IT and follow-up. Second, I had a metal roof installed and I am loving having this solid roof to replace an old shingled roof.

Unfortunately, Scalo hung gutters so poorly at time of installation that it ruined this review. Three 40 foot sections and all three are hung improperly. The lowest point is in the middle of ALL three gutters, brackets fell off in less than a year, and metal trash was left in one gutter. This last issue led to a build up of dirt/leaves that flooded my house 3 times which hopefully will not lead to mold, but it did burn out a light fixture above my door.

Scalo came out on 2 occasions and could not solve the mystery of the gutter leak. After I climbed up and discovered the poor workmanship, I contacted them about rehanging my gutters (and I would pay them for gutter covers). John Scalo stated this seemed like a reasonable plan going forward. Now, no one will return an email or a call. Seems like this review is my only recourse.

We can highly recommend Burns and Scalo Roofing company. We just had them replace our roof. They did a great job, they showed up on time every day, emailed us their progress every day and completed the job on time. They were very professional in the way they handled the job and the way they cleaned up.
