From start to finish Tom Bunn and team did a great job. We were looking for a firm fixed price contract and they made it happen. They listened to the concept we had in mind to turn a roughly 1700 square foot unfinished basement into a customized living space. Their project manager Anthony planned out everything from rough drawings all the way down to final selections. There were weekly progress reports given with photos and heads up on what was next. They were very professional and we would go to them and their sub-contractors definitely for future projects.

We had Bunn & Sons do a major addition to our house... a main-floor mother-in-law suite including a handicapped accessible bathroom and walk-in closet as well as a reconfiguration of our garage to keep the 3-car capability. It was a very good experience. The Bunn & Sons crew is very cleanly. They clean up every day. We were given progress pictures every day. The online project schedule (5 months) was kept current, and while some things moved around a bit, as should be expected, the end date actually moved in. Creating a plan, a detailed plan for such a large project takes a great deal of work. It did not come free, but in our view, the old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds true. We wanted confidence in the estimate that was provided, and that is exactly what we got. This was a huge project for us, and we could not have Bunn & Sons coming back telling us that framing, plumbing, flooring, roofing, demolition, foundation concrete, electrical, etc would cost more than they estimated. The project was completed on budget, a week early and with excellent quality, and it looks like it was always part of the house rather than an addition that sticks out like a sore thumb. It does not get better than that. Before and after pictures, below.

Tom did an amazing job with a shower remodel he completed in our master bathroom. His craftsmanship is spot on and I really appreciated his communication during the project. You won't go wrong with Tom.

You get what you pay for…

We started finishing our basement with a different general contracting company in fall of 2020—yes, during COVID! The project finally came to completion in late spring, which was months after the job was set to be done, after many delays, excuses, and supply chain troubles. The team that worked on the basement got the job done at a pretty low price, but the final product was nothing to write home about. A few years later, there are several things we wish we had known and required of the GC on the project. We regret having paid even what we did for some of their work.

Fast forward to our remodel working with Bunn and Sons in summer 2022. The job started when they said it would start after a period of careful planning alongside their designer. It came to completion within a few days of when they said it would be done. The work, which included refinished floors, all-new banisters, a completely overhauled kitchen, and several other smaller components, is done well. Their carpentry team and subs are all friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and timely. They use a great app for scheduling and communication that makes the process fairly seamless. Our home was well-cared for in our 10+ week absence. As we’ve lived in the space since the project was completed and had an occasional glitch pop up, the Bunn and Sons team has been quick to respond and resolve any problems. We spent quite a bit more on this project, but the service has been exceptional. We also feel good knowing that we paid skilled workers a living wage for quality labor.

We would not hesitate to recommend Bunn and Sons for your next home project!

We have been working with Bunn & Sons Home Renovations for the past year on several projects as their plumbing contractor. Tom and his team are incredibly organized, professional and great to work with. Their attention to detail and communication with their sub trades and clients is top notch. Tom and the whole Bunn and Sons team are amazing to work with. From Design to Build, they will communicate and execute "to a T".

They built us a beautiful home addition in just a few months! Its moderately large, has a gabled roof, a crawl space, and even its own AC.

Some background: we had a terrible, concrete patio. It was huge, took up so much of our backyard, and had a roof that attached to the main house roof in such a manner that water would pool at the dam. It was also sliding down hill, away from the house, and pulling with it the roof. The concrete itself was over a foot thick, cracked, and slanting. It was truly a hazard to navigate, especially in the winter when snow covered up its many obstacles. Our dog even dislocated his hip on this patio and needed emergency surgery. Terrible.

That's where Bunn & Sons comes in. They demo'd the existing patio. Excavated the ground around it. Poured in what appears to be an incredibly steady foundation. And from that, built an absolutely gorgeous home addition. They did this speedily, and we had excellent communication with the team. They worked with us and even installed some extra amenities to our house such as lighting and a better door to the garage. On top of all this, they even went the extra mile and gave us a wonderful deck, a dog door, and a ramp for the dogs (so the one with the bum hip can get up and down the stairs).

I can't recommend them enough. Their team is excellent and well worth the price.

Would not even give me an estimate on my townhome because "the owner does not feel comfortable working on homes attached to other units". What a joke, do not use these jokers.

I have seen the response, so in other words they prefer to only take on the easy jobs. Understood!

We used Bunn & Sons for a major remodel of our home in Broomfield. This was our first time going through a process like this, so we were pleasantly surprised at how easy and personable the experience was. They worked closely with us through the whole process, from design, to ordering appliances (do it early!), to working with us on the "must haves" and compromises in our plans, and all the way through the details of the work. They are fantastic communicators, and they made everything easy. And they came in right on budget. I cannot say enough great things about Tom and his team! Five stars, 100% positive - I'd use them again, for sure!

Tom and his crew finished our basement. We were extremely pleased with the results. They were great to work with. They paid attention to every detail and always followed up on things. The communication was outstanding. They emailed regularly with updates. When Sean and Zach left at the end of the day, they told us what would happen tomorrow. Sean and Zach and the subcontractors all seem to enjoy working together. It seems they all enjoy working with Tom. We felt that everyone was honest and trustworthy. Bunn and Sons provided quality service in every way.

Dont bother calling unless you want to be told they require a blank check. I sent over drawings I had made for a master bath remodel and he seemed uninterested from the very beginning and said probably 5-6 times throughout the call that we wouldn’t be a good fit without even getting a price point I would be comfortable with. He started with $40k-$60k, I said okay, that sounds about right. To get better pricing you have to pay for a design contract. I asked how much that was. He said between $2k-$5k. I was confused why he couldn’t pin it down and finally asked and understood it’s a range because it’s charged hourly. Okay, great I’m okay with that. I’m still interested but he was so thrown off by me having drawings already that he just didn’t know how to talk coherently… I was like fine, throw out the drawings I sent, what would this be. He then threw out around $80k. At one point he said $80k-$100k. So by the end of the call I was left with $40k-$100k range for a 70sqft bathroom. Idk how anyone signs a contract with that kind of range, that is a HUGE range ‍♀️. Anyway, call if you have no budget but if you want to have a serious conversation, I’d suggest looking elsewhere… they clearly don’t want to work with someone like me, Idk what it is about me but something made him not want my money ‍♀️

Working with Tom and his team at Bunn and Sons was fantastic, this is a contractor you can trust. We hired Bunn and Sons for a complete remodel of our main floor, including a total kitchen gut and removal of a structural wall. Tom was honest and transparent from day one and delivered a quality product that we are thrilled with. They do their due diligence to provide accurate quotes up front so there were no surprises during construction. Communication was clear and frequent throughout the entire project, all of the workers were professional and respectful, and their determination to deliver a flawless product is evident in all they do. Even though our kitchen project is over, Tom and his team continue to work hard to wrap up a few punch list finishing items to make sure we’re happy and ensure our kitchen is perfect. We hired Bunn & Sons to do a whole house remodel - during COVID and from thousands of miles away. It meant phone calls, Zoom meetings and limited in-person interactions and relying on an effective project management application to hold us all accountable. The renovation wasn't without it's challenges but we worked through it all together. From concept through design and construction Tom and his team were fantastic. The end result is the beautiful house we were hoping for! We could not recommend Bunn & Sons more highly.

Great communication, and overall great to work with. We remodeled our master bath last year and were very happy with how it turned out. Tom & team even put in the extra time to find a wallpaper application expert, and the results look really nice!

There is another 1 star review from just 6 days ago that describes exactly what happened to me. I filled out a form on their website asking for a quote to remodel our kitchen. A woman from their office called me later that day, and after a min or so of explaining what we want, she said their remodels start at $100k. I said I had a budget of around $50k, and she then essentially pushed me off the phone and wished me a good day. I am a business advisor by trade with 20 years of experience, and although I understand it's important for a business to know who their ideal clients are, to pre-judge and disqualify a potential client simply based on one conversation, without even scheduling an on site estimate, is in my opinion very unprofessional. We've since raised our budget and are getting other estimates, but given our household income is in the mid 6 figure range, I feel this company blew it and lost what could have been a great project for them (and us!). They countered their previous 1 star review with two points that contradict: first they said the project was not a fit, then they said the person who called them was new, suggesting they didn't handle the call properly, but here a few days later the same thing happens so clearly this is a pattern and a practice. Perhaps they do fantastic work, and I'm sure they are nice people. I hope they learn however that they will continue to get 1 star reviews when they treat potential clients this way.

I realize that contractors don't need more work right now, but when someone calls in and feels as though their project is completely unimportant, that raises a red flag for me. I spoke to the office manager, which seemed odd, not to mention she was completely unengaged in the conversation - as though I was wasting her precious time. I gave her some specifics and she quoted me an outrageous price right over the phone without even stepping foot inside my house to view my actual kitchen space. Obviously my project was not that important to them as no reputable kitchen remodeler will give you pricing over the phone let alone if they've never seen your kitchen in person to understand the nuances which cannot be gathered through a phone call. Pandemic or not, that is NOT the way to conduct business.

Bunn & Sons remodeled my main bathroom. Bunn is very thorough and they are the best contractor at detailing and communicating every step of the process.

Every phase of my project was handled by expert craftsmen - framing, plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting, cabinet building. Every step was completed on time. The end result was practically flawless. I haven't had any sort of trouble with the remodel at all a year later.

The best thing about working with Bunn & Sons is that you will always know what is going on with your project, who will be on the worksite, and what's coming up next. Stress free remodel.

Our total house remodel was finished in February 2021. I was very pleased with Bunn And Sonns at the time, however what I’m really impressed with is their follow up on their workmanship. They reached out to us at the six week mark and the six month mark to check to make sure everything was satisfactory. We have never had any other contractor follow up like that. We had a few minor issues ,so earlier this week Tom sent over people to repair things ( ig light switch, fan) the following is a text I sent Tom after the work was finished:

I was so impressed with Sean, Ryan and Jake this morning. I am consistently thankful for the quality of people that you work with! I feel like Sean and Ryan went above and beyond this morning to fix my fireplace. Sean is always focused on quality and workmanship! Please don’t hesitate to use us as a reference! You and your company are the best contractors around! Y’all are awesome and stand squarely behind your work! So hard to find that these days!

Bunn & Sons helped us with remodeling our kitchen, laundry room and updating our fireplace. They are organized, have clear communication and all of the subcontractors were very skilled and showed up when scheduled! The days the subcontractors were here, Tom also showed up to check in assuring everything was progressing as scheduled and addressing any areas of concern immediately. We would strongly recommend Bunn & Sons for any remodeling projects!

Working with Bunn & Son has been an amazing experience from start to finish. They are incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. This review is long overdue as we started our major remodel project with Bunn & Sons a little over a year ago! We worked with Tom and Brook on a nearly whole house remodel—including a full gut on our kitchen, master bathroom, fireplace, and laundry room—and they certainly had their work cut out for them, as our scope only increased as the work got going. Bottom line, we were extremely happy with our experience, thrilled with how everything turned out, and most of all, had immense confidence in Bunn & Son’s goal to complete our project with the utmost degree of professionalism and quality. We had dozens of subcontractors working on our home that Tom enlisted for various aspects of our project. Overall, workmanship across the board was excellent. There were a couple subcontractors that we had a few minor issues with, so I will say that I wouldn’t necessarily give every single subcontractor 5 stars if I were reviewing each one individually. But we did feel that Tom went above and beyond to address every concern we had throughout the process. Despite added scope to our already massive endeavor, the project finished on time and within the agreed upon price.

The #1 reason we ended up being glad that we chose Bunn & Sons was Tom’s availability and attentiveness to us throughout the entirety of the project. Tom answered every one of my (many) phone calls/texts, worked tirelessly to keep us well-informed, and resolved every problem—and did so with a patient, understanding, and upbeat attitude. Especially in this industry (and with the horror stories you read about), you really can’t put a price on that kind of customer service, and we think we got an incredible value given this approach to our project and the level of workmanship overall. We admire the beauty of our home every single day and we are so grateful because we couldn’t have done any of it without Bunn & Sons. I just had the pleasure of meeting Tom for an in-home consultation, and I felt compelled to come share my experience for those of you desperate to find an honest, up-front contractor. This is your guy. I am looking to convert an existing shop area into an accessible main-floor living space and bathroom for my mother, and Bunn & Sons spent nearly an hour investigating every relevant aspect of the project before coming up with a reasonable ballpark estimate and timeframe - all this before any design/build paperwork was signed. He clearly cared about my priorities and reservations, and he is truly a pleasure to work with. I feel entirely confident that Tom’s attention to detail speaks very highly of his professionalism. Investing such time and thoughtfulness up front is the only way to ensure a smooth construction process. If you’re someone who has had negative experiences with construction in the past, and you’re aware that there are realistic and unrealistic expectations for how a project can develop, then Bunn & Sons will be a good fit and you’ll be grateful when their work exceeds your expectations.

Details: We wish we didn’t have a window leak that caused structural damage to our house. And, we wish the reconstruction project had finished sooner. But, we are extremely grateful that we found and hired Tom Bunn of Bunn and Sons to complete our project. Next time, we will have a list of only one general contractor to call.

We had a difficult to track down leak - something that was penetrating a rock wall in our house with an unknown source and a slow (many year) process to figure out what was wrong. Once we determined what was wrong, we interviewed a number of general contractors, including Tom, to scope out the project and implement a fix. From the very beginning, we communicated with Tom that communications, quality and integrity are the most important aspects of the work and we were never disappointed.

Tom and Brook (Tom’s wife who runs the backoffice) are great straightfoward communicators. Like any construction project, there were unforeseen issues - in our case, the scope increased dramatically when Tom suspected that what was happening in one wall could be happening in two other adjacent walls. Tom calmly explained our options and gave a rough idea on costs (a conversation he wasn’t looking forward to as it was expensive). Not wanting to go through this painful process again, we decided to investigate/fix the other walls - one had issues, the other didn’t, so prudence still paid off.

The reason our project was delayed was that we had ordered rock from a quarry in Wisconsin that was supposed to be a match with the existing stone on the house. It wasn’t obvious until some of the stone was installed that the color hue was enough different from the existing stone (on other rock walls on the house). None of us wanted to believe it. But Tom worked out a fix with the quarry, who found stone from another part of the quarry that matched better the stone they were manufacturing 12 years ago (when the house was remodeled by the previous owners). This delayed our project over a month, but as soon as we had stone, Tom had the stonemasons working to get the job finished before the snow started to fly (well, almost).

We are very happy with the result of the project - even if all we did is get back to where we started from - albeit without any leaks! If you are looking for someone you can trust to do work at your house, my search would begin and end with Tom. The subcontractors that he used to do work at our house were professional as well - people you could trust to be in your house and to do a quality job.

The Bunn Family knows EXACTLY what they are doing. Sure, you could do some of the work yourself, but the craftsmanship comes in the details and the details add up quickly. Dont worry about making a mistake and just hire them. Those mistakes will likely cost you more. Also, their friendly service is a nice break from other rude contractors I have dealt with.

Tom and Brook Bunn pulled off a minor miracle for us. We came to Bunn & Sons on the strong recommendation of good friends, and their faith in Tom was very well placed. We couldn’t be happier, even though the project was a wild one.

Our kitchen had suffered water damage and it was deteriorating quickly in multiple ways, but what Tom found when he demolished the surface layer shocked all of us! In addition to very extensive water damage, he discovered that the kitchen addition had been built on a patio slab with no footers. Not only that, but the slab was nearly completely eroded underneath. The load bearing header was also framed completely incorrectly. It is no exaggeration to say that the kitchen was set to peel away from the rest of the house at any time.

Extensive time and effort went into revising the scope of the project, restoring foundational support and addressing the significant structural deficiencies left behind for us by the previous owners. Tom explained each of the underlying problems as they were uncovered. He always brought good ideas, sound advice and an honest and open perspective. He worked closely with us to try to weigh cost against value – which is not an easy balancing act when the scope of the project changed almost daily for reasons completely outside of anyone’s control. Although we had to go well beyond the original scope of the project, we always felt we were getting our money’s worth … and then some.

Tom brought in solid subcontractors, each of whom were very experienced, respectful and pleasant to have around the house. Tom always took full responsibility for every aspect of the work that was done by himself and his subs, and made adjustments where needed to fit the everchanging circumstances.

Throughout the entire process, Tom was patient, cheerful, reliable and extremely competent. His integrity is impeccable, and it was never in doubt that Tom would always do the best work he could for us, and to achieve the results we wanted. His attention to detail and commitment to quality are exceptional, and he consistently went the extra mile to get things right.

Brook did great work keeping things moving behind the scenes, and she was a delight to work with. Both Tom and Brook went well above and beyond our expectations for high quality service and beautiful end results. Perhaps most importantly, Tom and Brook always listened carefully to us, and worked hard to translate our vague and indecisive notions (while overcoming some seriously challenging structural problems) into a truly wonderful kitchen and deck area which we will enjoy for many years to come.

We couldn’t have asked for better partners in this project, and we wholeheartedly recommend them. We will be using Bunn & Sons again in the future.

Bunn & Sons just completed our master bath remodel project and we are SOO happy with it! I had no idea what to expect from a major remodel project (just know that it will take way longer than you think it should!) but Tom and Brook managed everything beautifully. Tom's subcontractors were professional and pleasant, and did quality work. Tom's craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. I would definitely call them for any future project we have, as well as highly recommend to anyone else. Tom won't be your cheapest quote but you will definitely get a quality project for a fair price.

We are beyond thrilled with the result of our basement bathroom/laundry renovation! We received several bids but ultimately went with Bunn and Sons because Tom took the time to work with us on the project scope, clearly explained the process and was transparent about the variables that could affect our initial vision and budget for the project.

To our delight, Tom worked with us and made recommendations along the way. He introduced his subcontractors and we felt very comfortable with him and his crew being in our house. Brook ran project communications through a really convenient app with the diligence of a project manager, which helped us keep tabs on progress while maintaining full-time careers.

The end result was even better than than we originally imagined -Tom's crew found and fixed many existing "homeowner specials" that posed risks if left alone. He did the work right (and BEAUTIFULLY!) and provided layout expertise that allowed us to install a full-size shower instead of a smaller one, as well as gorgeous locally custom-built barn doors.

We highly recommend Bunn and Sons & look forward to working with him to renovate other parts of our house!

Bunn & Sons recently did a bathroom remodel for our mother. Tom had to completely redo the entire room. Not only did he do a superb job, he gave us expert advice and helped us make the best choices for the small space. He was very considerate of Jessie’s home and made sure everything was up to our expectations. I would highly recommend him for big or small projects. We will be using him for our kitchen remodel in the very near future! He is the best!

Bunn & Sons did a superb job remodeling part of our home. The job included both demolition and new construction. We interviewed at least five other candidate contractors and Tom was our choice and we never doubted our decision as he did the work. Tom not only did excellent work he also had very helpful suggestions and displayed excellent taste. For example, we asked him to find some hardwood for the floor and he went to the supplier and found both excellent flooring at a reasonable price with exactly the color needed. The walls Bunn & Sons installed were knotty pine and the installation was a bit tricky because there were many corners. The execution was everything I could have asked.

I knew that the scope of work for remodels requires flexibility and Tom accommodated me by doing the work on a time & materials basis. That approach was much easier than starting with a fixed price bid and then needing to adjust up and down as the scope of work changed. For example, the remodel involved demolishing an existing hallway and part of a stairway at the end of the garage followed by building a new hallway and stairway to the upstairs of the house. The part of the hallway facing the garage needed to by fire-rated gypsum board, or course. As that work started it occurred to me that the part of the garage's walls not covered with gypsum board could also be taken care of and Tom happily did that additional work and, because the work was time and materials, the additional cost was easily handled.

Tom has done several projects for us with excellent craftsmanship. He was able to jump in mid-project when our kitchen flooded & had to be torn out quickly. He laid a beautiful herringbone tile floor that we constantly get compliments on. Tom has also installed a custom laundry cabinet for us to hide our washer & dryer and it far exceeded my expectations. You won’t find anyone more friendly or high quality than Bunn & Sons!
