I recently had repairs done on my home by BuildBAK. They were courteous, efficient, profession, and accommodating from start to finish. The entire job from start to finish was done in a timely, coordinated effort. While a crew focused on my bathroom, another crew worked diligently in my basement directly below said bathroom. The results were a completely restored area in both locations. I would gladly contact this contractor again. They provided all necessary information and photographs to my homeowners insurance to expedite the proposal and repairs. Thank you very much to the project manager and the work crew for a great job.

We had a fire in our multifamily house last year. BuildBak came highly recommended and I can easily say it was the best experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. Steve was amazing to work with. He was extremely communicative and went above and beyond every step of the way. His crew and the other contractors he brought in were phenomenal and the work was of great quality. If I could give more stars I would. In January of 2025, my father in law's house suffered significant water damage from an old cast iron baseboard heat register which failed. Buildbak of Framingham was highly recommended by the remediation company. Project Manager Eric Ostroff came out the day after I contacted Buildbak to begin the estimate, identifying additional areas of damage to include water in the electic panel not even considered by the adjuster. Project Manager Ostroff also recommended more efficient and effective methods of repair and completed the estimate in a few days.

From the beginning, Project Manager Ostroff understood we were on a significant time crunch and even worked with the insurance company when they frequently seemed to forget the short schedule. Builbak managed all the entities involved and completed its quality work in the short time frame, always with great communication and frequent updates with photos. Our basement has never looked better after the great flood of 2025 (hot water heater ruined all the flooring in our basement). We had our stairs replaced with durable carpet and the flooring vinyl plank in grey - they did an edge mold and then repainted the baseboard. They were also careful to move the few things we had in the basement around to do the work even though we'd cleared out a lot. Amazing work - no mess - cleaned up and the floor is perfect. Great communication as well from Eric the lead.

At such an uncertain time when all seemed lost, Erik and his team came through to save the day! During our Several months that seemed endless without a kitchen Erik worked tirelessly with his team, providing continuous communication, insight and support, answering all my questions and concerns, no matter how big or small! Day in and day out, he remained patient with me! He was amazing through it all! I would highly recommend Erik Ostroff at Buildbak for any job that needs to be done.

Had significant water damage in kitchen that also affected finished basement. Restoration always has its inconveniences, but they were held to a minimum. Many different skills needed to do the job, but Bill did an excellent job coordinating them and their timing with us. The work is perfect. Looks like new! Would use them again without hesitation if the need arose.

Buildbak was an amazing company to work with after experiencing extensive water damage in our house. Brian T, the project manager, did a fabulous job in leading the renovation. There were several obstacles along the way, and Brian handled them all with professionalism, positivity, and confidence. He had solutions for every problem and helped to navigate issues with the insurance company. He has a very thorough knowledge of construction and was able to explain the issues and approaches in detail but understandably. When the work was done, Brian brought in a cleaning crew to leave my house immaculate. With the renovation complete, my house is absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to come home to. can’t say enough about the customer service at Buildbak. About a year ago, we had a catastrophic event with a frozen pipe. Buildbak stepped in immediately, managing everything from cleanup to the installation of our ceiling and floors. The process was seamless, and the stress on us was virtually nonexistent. All I had to do was coordinate available times for them to be in the house. Every crew they brought in was professional and consistently exceeded our expectations.

A year after the work was completed, a minor issue came to light—not due to any fault of Buildbak, but rather a small mistake made by one of the subcontractors that would fall under the heading "stuff happens" . Dan came right over and started the restoration project. He was so great dealing with all the insurance company roadblocks. The repair work which involved flooring, entire kitchen and bathroom and the basement, was done professionally and as quickly as possible despite many delays by the insurance company. If you are unlucky enough to have a tree fall on your house, that luck instantly changes once Paul as the Project Manager at BuildBak walks in. The damage was extensive - roof, frame, interior and siding. And we had little experience in dealing with our insurance company. Amazing Paul, his great crews and the high standard at BuildBak was the solution.

We recently had an issue with our sewerpipes which resulted in all of the floors in our unit needing to be replaced. Unfortunately, there were issues with the company that replaced the pipes and the Town of Brookline. Our project manager, Steve Reesor shepherded us through the process to resolve all of the issues so that Buildbak could proceed with our floor restoration. Additionally, Steve and the company did an exceptional job working with two insurance adjusters so that our losses were adequately covered.

All of the work in our unit was done according to our agreed upon timeline with the work being impeccable. There was excellent communication throughout the entire project.

Immediately upon hiring Buildbak we had a positive feeling that they would work with us until the project was completed . They truly gave us peace of mind which was most appreciated and needed.

I had a dryer fire and there was more work to be done than I imagined and BuildBak did all the work and got my house back to what it was prefire.

On the coldest day of the year we had a valve on our dishwasher freeze and cause a flood. We had long term water damage from a leaking dishwasher. The water accumulated behind the walls and cabinets, the wall was shared between the kitchen and garage attic. We finally noticed when the garage ceiling started to collapse.

The Hamel Company handled everything from the water remediation, kitchen tear down to rebuilding everything. Their skilled sub contractors were able to save both our kitchen cabinets and our marble countertops. Literally saving us thousands of dollars.

The work demanded many disciplines from water remediation, drywall repair, plumbing and other services. Every single sub contractor was polite, professional and hard working. I should add they also sent a cleaning company to scrub out our kitchen when all the work was done.

I recommend The Hamel Company wholeheartedly.

We had fairly extensive water damage and the Hamel Company took care of everything. The damage required removal of granite countertop and cabinets to get at the affected wall and floor. It also damaged the ceiling in the garage as the kitchen wall backs up to the garage attic. Within one week all the contractors came in, removed the water damaged and moldy drywall, water soaked insulation. Disassembled the counter tops and cabinets and repaired all the ceilings and walls, painted and restored cabinets and tops.

They were able to save our granite countertops, backsplashes and cabinets. It was a whirlwind of sub contractors coming through the house all managed by Matt and his team. Everyone to a person was polite, professional and punctual. I cannot recommend the Hamel Company enough if you have restoration work needed.

The Hamel Company did a high-quality reconstruction of my bathroom following substantial water damage. The damage occurred in a one-bedroom apartment, and since the bathroom needed to be demolished, I was displaced from the property. The team was quick to get to work as soon as the proposal was approved by my insurance company. Matt and Michael were good communicators and very responsive. They did what they said they were going to do and within the proposed timeline. I also got the sense that they recognized that being displaced from my home was causing me distress, and I got the impression that they approach the work with some urgency. I felt that Matt and Michael treated me well, which was appreciated and which was a very different experience from my difficult dealings with the insurance company. We would be remiss if we did not tell review how great Hamel’s project manager, Pablo Murillo, is.

After a washing machine overflow caused extensive damage to our first floor and finished basement, Pablo took charge immediately. Pablo got us an estimate right away, dealt with our insurance adjuster, brought in a crew to complete the bulk of the work before Christmas, and arranged for the carpet installation, and the floor sanding at a later date (as per our request). Not only did the crew Pablo brought in work quickly, they were professional, neat, and the quality of their work was excellent.

Pablo’s efforts were especially appreciated, as our daughter (who lives with us) was getting married on New Year’s Eve. We had family from California staying with us for the week prior to the wedding, and we desperately needed the basement room where the damage was repaired.

The Hamel Company is a joy to work with. After having my apartment destroyed due to a flood of grade 3 dirty water, I dealt with a number of corrupt insurance adjusters and a water remediation company (ServiceMaster Elite - never use them!). It was a nightmare, until one day, someone referred me to The Hamel Company to finish the remodeling and restoration work in my apartment. Not only did they complete the work ahead of schedule, they were extremely transparent about pricing, did not try to overcharge us, and were very respectful and responsive. Even though I've managed multiple renovation projects, contractors often are very condescending to me because I'm a woman and constantly ask to speak to my husband. However, Daniel Hamel was extremely courteous, never condescended to me, and worked closely with me to get me back into my apartment as soon as possible. While I hope I never experience water damage again, I know that there is only one company I would ever call in the future.

Edward Hamel and his contractors were incredible!! We had flooding and water damage in our finished basement from a septic pipe failure. Ed came within 24 hours of our phone call and he had our estimate to the insurance adjuster within one day! His numbers matched the insurance quote for the repairs as he used the same estimate software. Their team of contractors took out the soaked drywall and all layers of the flooring. They installed new drywall, new baseboards, brand new flooring and painted the entire space. The drywall work was very involved as there are a lot of angles and corners. They finished the Entire job within 4-1/2 days and we had a brand new basement within a week of when our septic flood occurred. We cannot thank Ed and his contractors enough for getting our life back to normal after such an unexpected occurrence.
