Brighthouse Roofing and Siding

We hired Brighthouse Roofing to do a complete Roof tear off and replacement. The sales rep was very nice and knowledgeable(CON MAN). The price was a little less than competitive bids. We have a 2200 Sf ranch. After the project was completed but before we had a chance to make a final payment, we had a leak at the skylight. He sent a young man out to reflash or repair the spot who left abruptly then sent 2 workers including a senior gentleman who seemed experienced.. He was here 3-4 times because it kept raining and we kept getting water. I don’t know exactly what he did, but it didn’t rain for a week, and he assured me it was repaired professionally. I made the final payment. the first rain and each subsequent rain, we have had water drip down at the skylight destroying the drywall and paint, carpeting and floor.

We had professionally installed gutter guards on our roof, but on the day the project was done, they informed us they would not reinstall the gutter guards they removed and disposed of them( or kept them and reinstalled them elsewhere for a profit).

Just recently we had folks on the roof to install new gutter guards. We noted a can of Monster energy drink was permanently affixed to our roof at the spot we asked to be repaired. I am afraid to take it off without a repair crew on hand in case it opens a bigger hole.

Now that I see all these negative reviews I am embarrassed I ever hired them. I can’t believe I didn’t look for online reviews before hiring them. I have called no less than 20 times over the past year. I have texted profusely to no response. Every call goes to a FULL Voicemail. So you can’t leave a message. All texts go unanswered.

Today I have an interior renovation crew in my house redoing my bathrooms from another company. They removed the ceiling to do some work and I was able to see the interior of the roof. One of Brighthouse’s big selling points was installing a ridge line ventilation system. Which they claimed they did. Visually from the exterior there is the appearance that they installed a ridge vent. However, when looking at the roof from the interior of the house they did not cut the wood at the ridge vent line except for a tiny notch. Now my roof has virtually no ventilation. Cosmetically it looks right from the outside, but the under shingle work was never done to provide any roof ventilation. I have attached photographs (although it’s hard to tell from the pics, looking at it in person it’s clear as day. It seems apparent they need to be sued, and this 1 year old roof needs to be torn off and reinstalled. I will assume they are uncollectible even if I were to win a judgment against them so maybe it would just be a moral victory.

If you are considering using Larry from Brighthouse or whatever company name he goes under. DO NOT. Any savings in price will be wiped out with down the road short term repairs and replacements. Any thought of any level of customer service once payment have been made are ZERO. Any warranty you thought may have been in place is invalid. I pray daily.

I had a REAL roofer come over and show me how they didn’t even try to caulk or insulate the skylight windows. Their “repair” guy spent at least 6 hours on my roof. Now I know all he didn’t was drink and hang out. There was ZERO sign of any attempt to caulk the skylights despite 3 or 4 separate trips here. Finally after it didn’t rain for a while I assumed I was okay and made the final payment. What a scam. I have had water with every rain.

The warranty is WORTHLESS since they are a shadow company that disappears as soon as you pay them

They repaired the roof leak but it leaked the first heavy rain within months of the repair. I purchased the guarantee for the labor which is useless since I have not been able to contact the. Their phone is answered by an answering machine that is always full. They also work under No Leak Home Improvement.
I contacted the BBB but they have not been much help , they have not been very responsive.

I would actually rate 0 Stars.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This roofing repair company is an absolute scam, I have never in my life had to deal with such a fly by night company such as this one. They took my money for a roof repair to fix my leaking garage roof which the fix hardly held up a month. They gave me a warranty on this repair with annual follow ups and yet the roof started leaking all over again in the same area and I called, texted, emailed and they never responded back to the countless messages and phone calls. They will not pick up the phone to honor their “warranty”. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company at all costs! Absolutely horrible!
