After a big hailstorm hit Muskego in May, I filed a claim myself, but it was denied. When Briggs stepped by, they offered to submit their own assessment to the insurance company.
Thanks to their thorough documentation and persistence, they were able to get my roof approved for a full replacement.
I only had to pay my deductible.
The crew was efficient and the on-site supervisors made sure everything went smoothly. It was all cleaned up and completed by the afternoon.
The customer service was great!! It was stress-free. I'd highly recommend Briggs to family and friends.

I normally don’t write negative reviews, as I believe everyone deserves a chance to make things right. However, my experience with Briggs has been very stressful and disappointing. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision. Be cautious and document everything.

We used Briggs to replace our roof, gutter, gutter guard, and downspout, which are part of an insurance claim. During the roof replacement on June 2, 2025, Briggs damaged the interior wood trim of the skylights and the siding of my house, leaving part of the house exposed. Without informing us, they also replaced our wood-framed skylight with a vinyl one, which we were never informed about and only found it out when the vinyl skylights were installed.

In addition, the day after the roof was done, they emailed me stated the gutter portion was paused per their ownership’s directive, solely due to my requests for repair the damaged they did during the roof replacement. They demanded the remaining balance to be paid in full before they resume the gutter portion of the project, although it was not stated in the contract. So about half of my house was left without gutter and downspout for 10 days. At the meantime, they emailed an invoice for the entire project to my insurance company falsely stating all work was complete. I honestly think they'd never complete the gutter portion of the project if my insurance did not call them out. We almost hired an attorney when they ghosted us.

I requested the repair of the damage verbally when the project manager was on site and texted him the day after about the repair as well. I also emailed the owner. However, the project manager stated he routed to their team and I'm ok with the siding. Please look at the photos of damage. It does not look ok at all! The owner never responded to my email. Due to the damage on the chimney siding, we noticed water leaking inside the fireplace whenever it rained hard since the roof replacement.

We started working with Briggs last summer. We had many email exchanges regarding the details of the project, including the materials and if/how the step flashing would be installed. We have cedar siding and my friend, who was a roofer, indicated it'd be very hard to slide step flashing underneath the cedar siding without lifting or removing the siding first. Briggs was responsive for the most part and stated they'll not be removing any siding when replacing the step flashing. To make sure my house will not be damaged, I had call with Jeff, the owner, who stated the siding will just be lifted and there won't be any damage. We were thinking about getting new siding at some point. However, as I stated in an email in April, it'll take a while for the siding project, there will be a gap between the roof project and siding project, and we'd like to protect the house during the gap period.
On the day of the roof replacement, when standing outside and observe, I saw one contractor (majority of them do not speak English) threw a hammer into the siding that's high above where the roof and wall meets. I asked the project manager right away and he said they misunderstood and they'll fix it. However, nothing was done! See the second photo.
Jamie from their production department stopped by on June 11th, indicated she did not see any photos of the damaged area in their system. She took photos and expressed concerns about the damage. As I mentioned to her, we can let the small damage like killing the plants near the house go. But the siding damage is too significant. She seemed sincere and actually called the owner right away. I do appreciate that. I got my hopes up and thought I'd hear from Briggs. But that did not happen. Before and after photos of several damaged areas are attached to this review.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

He was responsible for overseeing the crew, managing operations, and ensuring quality and safety standards were met. His in-depth knowledge of the roofing system, materials, and installation techniques were quite impressive. This included the understanding how different materials go together and come apart for efficient installation. There was one unforeseen problem which he analyzed and quickly made an informed decision to keep the project on task. He also stayed pass the working hours to ensure I was happy with the new and beautiful roof. What a great asset Briggs Family can rely on. Thank you, Craig Ader.

Aaron Goldman – Who was the Crew Manager that came early, before the roofing crew came on site to ensure every detail was ready to expedite a safe environment for his crew and our house. He could be seen assigning tasks and guidance, and monitored the roofing success. Aaron also inspected, throughout the day, that everyone was on task and meeting quality standards and specifications. He also addressed any issues or challenges that arose on the job site promptly and effectively. I enjoyed the fact that he kept me abreast and his manager, of updates in regards to the roofing progress. When walking around the house I also noted the great rapport Aaron had with all the workers. This made the job go by seamlessly. I can attest that he stayed pass the time of his working hour to cleanup anything the roofing crew might have missed. Truly the Briggs Family has someone to be proud of.

BFHD worked with our claim adjuster and had someone from their team available during the inspection of the hail damage to our home. They were there for us during every step of the process of replacing our roof, siding, and gutters. We also replaced our soffits and fascia so the house is now almost 100% maintenance free. We found them to be responsive and the owner even spent a great deal of time with us, onsite, before the project began talking through everything and answering our questions on the work that was to be done. The crews were all very hard working, efficient, and friendly. Any small issues that arose during the project were quickly addressed. Sharing some "before" and "after" pictures. I don’t normally make comments on work performed and completed on my property but after watching and talking to the workers at Briggs Family Home and Development I felt a statement commending the services performed by Briggs should be mentioned.
The roofing crew showed up to start work as the sun was rising, (Early) after informing me they were prepared to work and making sure our cars were out of the garage, they immediately proceeded to cover everything close to the house to protect against damage, including plants and windows. Ripping old shingles off the roof can be pretty messy and hard work but they were there picking up any fallen waste and immediately discarding it as it dropped to the ground.
They began early and went nonstop thru out the day, stopping only to answer any questions I may have had. The entire roofing job was completed by the end of the day. (And my roof is fairly large)
Also; several times the supervisor (Craig) brought to my attention, defects the previous roofer had made and why it was necessary to correct them. All defects they found were properly corrected. Also; Manny, John and Gavin were a great help too in expediting the project.
I found their workmanship and services performed were very professional, clean, thorough, and rapid. I’m glad they were recommended to me, and I would also recommend Briggs Family Home and Development to anyone of interest. Their inspections are free, and if they notice weather damage to your property they would gladly work with your Insurance company to help rectify it if need be. I wasn’t paid to make this comment, I just felt they earned it.

We recently had our roof replaced due to hail damage. The Briggs field rep came out and inspected, contacted our insurance to start the claim and within 3 days we had approval to proceed. Our reps, Manny and Shyla, presented us with our options. Their ‘no pressure’ approach was appreciated. Upon scheduling, the team showed up promptly at the stated time and completed the job in a day. The Supervisor stayed behind and thoroughly explained what they did and made 2-3 extra cleanup checks, before it became too dark. Overall, an excellent job and we are very satisfied with the outcome and the staff we delt with.

Craig came out with his crew today and did an amazing and professional job! They tore off my two layers of shingles and put a beautiful new roof on our home in one day. Clean up was perfect as well. Can't say enough good things about them! Will be looking forward to working with them again in the near future on all of our exterior projects.

We wanted get our roof replaced before winter. The staff was able to quickly add me to their project schedule and were unbelievably respectful and thorough. We recently had a new driveway installed (3 months prior) and they put down tarp/netting to ensure that the driveway was protected from scratches/scuffs and were even mindful of the weight of equipment on the new concrete. They sent me pictures of the progress along the way. Completed the entire job in 4 hours. I would recommend Briggs to anyone looking to get a new roof. 5/5 stars for me!

Amazing, everything from start to finish was flawless, John,Gavin,Craig were awesome to work with.The roofing crew kicked butt! Roof looks great and will recommend to my friends and family.

They were in the neighborhood to inspect for hail damage and took some pictures then started a claim with my insurance. Luckily the claim was approved and several weeks later the job was completed in 1 day. Cleanup wasn't perfect but with it being late in the year I was surprised they got it done so quick so I am satisfied with the job.

Had a couple of nasty storms come through and was worried that there might be damage. Not having any knowledge or knowing what to look for, I contacted Briggs and they offered to come take a look. Gavin B came over during a time when I could be home and walked me through what was, and wasn't damage caused by the storms. He was very professional and informative. Afterwards he contacted my insurance company and got a claim started. I then worked with John and Shyla to figure out exactly what I wanted, and to finance the portion that insurance didn't cover. A few months later and I have a beautiful looking roof, gutters, and soffiting. When they were doing the work, I couldn't be home, but they sent me pictures and explained everything that needed to be replaced since a few boards were damaged or unusable. Overall, dealing with Briggs made everything simple and straightforwarded, despite my insurance being the exact opposite. Would highly recommend.

Briggs installed our 2 roofs in one day. They completed the job & did all the clean up by 6 pm. The production manager, Craig was on the job site all day & stayed to make sure no damage was done & clean up was complete. Anything that needed to be corrected or fixed with the roof, Craig was always available to come & take care of the problem.

Unfortunately, our issue is damage to our gutters that was done & this wasn’t noticed at least 3 to 4 months later. My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer & was going through cancer treatments so by the time he was feeling well enough to get out into the yard that is when he noticed that some of our Leaf guard gutters were damaged. After many conversations with Briggs, the owner & salesperson refuse to come to some agreement to help with covering the cost of replacing the damage gutters. The owner called one time & said they would make it right but we never heard anything more from her & she refused to ever call us back. Unfortunately things like this happen & it’s unfortunate that the company’s owner herself didn’t want to take the time to come & see the damage done. We replaced the gutters at our own expense, which cost us approximately $12,000.00. Because of the way we were treated regarding the gutter damage we can not give them a higher recommendation for how they handled this situation. We will not be recommending them.

Came to my house and told me about storms that were in our area (Hail, Heavy wind,ECT) And he thought it would be wise to have my roof looked at for damage.knowing that my roof was not very old .I thought No way, but what did I have to lose.So the following day a we had it inspected by there qualified inspector.Where he showed me the the hail damage.From there we started a claim with my home owners insurance. They handle everything from the beginning . So now my insurance is going to send out there adjuster. By now you should know where going.My insurance is going to replace my roof. My overall experience with this company is there overall concern with the average home owner best interest. Roof looks great much better than the last roofers did.

The crew were on time and very professional in replacing my roof. Gavin Butzlaff inspected my roof after a bad hail storm, took, lots of pictures & coordinated with the insurance inspector, culminating in my roof being replaced. Briggs Family Home Development, Left Me With a Leaking Roof
Watch out for Briggs coming by your house asking you to open claims for your siding or roof.

In July their sales rep Jerry knocked on our door asking if we knew about a hail storm. We did not and he asked if he could look around. I told him to knock himself out and let me know what he thinks. He said he thought there was some hail damage and I should open up a claim. I told him I'd think about it and let him know if I opened a claim. He pressured me to open the claim now and with him on the phone. This should have been my first red flag.

In August, the insurance came back with a repair estimate and the owner stopped by in his lifted pickup truck. We spoke and he said he was going to try to have the insurance cover a new roof rather than just a repair, but he'd take care of us either way. In order to do so they had to remove a shingle and take some pictures and do some matching. Two weeks later, during a storm, we find we have a leaking roof, from the shingle that was removed.

Now, in early October the insurance came back with a determination that the entire roof does not need replacing. I contacted Briggs to schedule the repair that they pressured me to claim and they responded with "There isn’t much we can do at this point. Our company doesn’t do repair work".

Being misled into thinking they would do the repairs by the owner is bad enough, but the fact that they won't put the shingle back on the roof and fix the leak they caused is even worse.

Briggs coordinated schedules with Everlight Solar to remove our solar panels. Briggs took off old roof and installed new roof in one day! When the foreman’s team for Everlight reinstalled our panels he said “they did a really good job on your roof. Everything was straight and tight and the ridge tops looked good, too” Both companies are very easy to work with. Highly recommend them both!

We had a great experience with Briggs Family Home Development in the replacement of our storm-damaged roof. Briggs' understands how to navigate the claims process with the home insurance carrier. Their engagement and relationship with the insurance carrier increased the likelihood of the claim getting approved, and, that all the costs were covered.

They also were able to deliver cleanly on the roof replacement. Super helpful in picking out the materials and getting all of the spec right before the job started. They communicated well on the timing of the work, managed expectations and were able schedule the work sooner than anticipated. Clean-up after the job was thorough.

I didn't believe they could get the tear-off and replacement done in 1 single day. They pulled that off.

Briggs uses sub-contractors to do the work. They managed that relationship entirely and had a Briggs project manager on-site the whole day to manage work and handle any interactions with me.

They were quick to resolve the minor punch-list items I surfaced.

Briggs provided a single-point-of-contact for us thru the whole process. Jessie was competent, understands the whole process, was very responsive and had patience for all of our detailed questions. This level of customer engagement management is rare.

Would do business with Briggs again.

Briggs was attentive during the whole process, checking in at every step. Our final bill was less than we expected and we're grateful.

Briggs’ staff led us through the process of a roof replacement by identifying damage we had not been aware of, filing an insurance claim and meeting with the Adjustor on site. It resulted in full replacement of our roof and gutters. They followed up with the Adjustor to expedite the process and had the new roof up before our first snowfall of the season the next day. They were responsive, professional and did great work. Recommend them highly. They give me faith in the service industry that I have struggled finding the past couple of years. Thank you.

Brigg's replaced our Roof after it was damaged by Hail. They were prompt and professional and the new Roof looks great. They covered the Landscaping to prevent damage and left the yard cleaner than when they started. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a new Roof.

They had worked on my families house and installed the roof a few years back and we have had no problems whatsoever. It’s gotten through every storm and all the wind that’s been thrown at it. Excellent customer service and the people working there were very kind.

Had a inspector come take a look at my house.. jacob I believe his name was. Came and inspected and I just wasn’t liking how pushy they were on filing a claim. I asked for a couple days to think and with in 2 days I got about 4-5 calls. Seemed very fishy to me how pushy they were. They did like my answer of not being interested.

They came around asking to evaluate our roof for hail damage. They were very friendly and professional, but pushed for us to make a claim with State Farm, telling us that it wouldn't hurt and maybe some of our roof would be paid for. State farm did not approve our roof (no biggie), but turns out that making a claim raised our home owners insurance even though we didn't go forward with it. That is sleezy and the Briggs evaluator absolutely knew that!

BFHD was a great experience from the very beginning. Shyla offered a free inspection of my roof to see if it may have been damaged from a recent hail storm. They were doing work in the area and stated this was a no strings attached inspection. Me being terrified of heights thought this was a great idea since I wasn't about to go up there.

An inspector came by within the hour, took pictures and showed me right then and there all the damage that had been caused to the roof. He called my insurance company with me to put in the claim so I wouldn't goof that up on my own as well.

When the insurance inspector came by, BFHD made sure to have one of their people on site to make sure to point out the damages and make sure they didn't miss anything. They were able to get me a full roof replacement for a great cost. (Every situation is different I know, but paying only the deductible was huge!)

Shyla stayed in constant contact with me as well as Jean to keep me updated on the process moving forward and made things effortless on my end. Once winter was over, they scheduled the full roof repair and all of the workers were professional and respectful.

My husband and I were looking into getting our roof replaced and Briggs was referred to us from a friend. We worked with Jackie and her team who were great!

We found out we only had an actual cash value home insurance policy- which means they subtract depreciation from the amount they would provide you to replace it. Jackie worked with us and our insurance company to get more money from the insurance company to cover the replacement and was patient with waiting for the insurance check to arrive.

Johnny was great with explaining the issues and damages to our roof and was here when the insurance adjuster came out. It took 2 days to complete the roof and there was a project manager during the entire installation to ensure everything was done correctly. The team of contractors were hardworking, efficient and did an awesome job with clean up.

We originally got 4 bids for our roof and went with Briggs because they had excellent reviews, took time to explain everything, had a one time transferable warrant and guaranteed their work. They were not the lowest bid but we trusted their expertise and talent and are very happy with the results.

We were offered a free roof inspection by Briggs Family Home Development after a hail storm had come through. No strings attached. It turns out we had damage to the roof. It was a fairly painless process because BFHD was part of it every step of the way. Melanie from BFHD made the call with me to the insurance company and when the adjuster came out, Alex was here to assist and advocate for us. The job was completed quickly and they even came back to ensure our satisfaction. Alex, Jackie and Melanie were all wonderful to work with!

Briggs did a great job replacing my roof due to hail damage. Johnny and Nerissa were extremely helpful in the process. Everything went as scheduled and everyone was very punctual. The cleanup was great. They even cleaned out my nasty gutters on the garage that didn’t have guards on them. Bonus!

Briggs Family Home Development worked closely with us and our insurance company to submit claims for the roofs on two of our properties which were damaged by a hail storm. They made the process painless and walked us through everything in a straightforward manner.

These folks came to me after a hailstorm hit the neighborhood stating that I might be eligible for a roof replacement repair through my insurance company due to the hail storm. They offered to take a look at the roof and give me an assessment. I was skeptical as they were a non-local company and I had never heard of them before. I asked them for a card and told them I would get back to them once I did some investigating. I checked BBB, Google and Yelp. I also called my insurance company and they seemed to check out. I decided to give them a shot and gave them the go ahead to inspect the roof.

As expected they had confirmed there was damage. They then worked directly with my insurance company (American Family) and an adjuster came by to take a look as well. They worked with adjuster directly, I did not have to do anything. The adjuster contacted me for final confirmation. I asked the adjuster if this company was legit and he said he had worked with them many times and they had been fine. That gave me some assurance about working with BFHD.

I worked with Mollie directly and she helped schedule and coordinate the entire process. Alex the owner stopped by a few times to talk to me about the process as well as answer any concerns I had. They were very professional and thorough. I had some scheduling changes that were necessary due to my daughter's graduation party and they were very quick to work with me to reschedule the work. The actual job took 2 days because I have a multi-tiered roof. Once the job was done, Mollie swung by to insure that I was satisfied. I had some questions about the work and the owner, Alex came by and thoroughly answered all my questions.

BFHD has been nothing but friendly, helpful, professional and responsive throughout the process unlike many other contractors I have worked with. I highly recommend them and give them 5 stars! If anything changes I will continue to update this post as time goes on. However, I am super happy with them and recommend them to anyone looking to replace or repair their roof!
