We had a great experience working with Boise Roof after our roof sprung a leak during a rain storm. We made an insurance claim and had a very inexperienced adjuster who had no business making coverage decisions. Thankfully we found Boise Roof! Michael was very knowledgeable and a great advocate for our family throughout the whole insurance claim process. He really fought for us. Our new section of roof looks amazing! Boise Roof got the job done quickly and did a great job cleaning up. We also got a time lapse video of the work which was pretty cool. We definitely would recommend working with Boise Roof.

Michael came by right on time, cleaned gutter, inspected roof, informed me the roof was old but in great shape, and didn’t ask for anything. He didn’t try to sell me anything, just left things better than he found them. I would definitely choose this company for future roofing needs.

We had the unfortunate experience of water coming through our roof from our skylight. We called around and had a few people come out to give us bids on the job. The people who came out before Boise Roof Repair, quoted us incredibly high and didn't even get on our roof to look at the issue. Mike with Boise Roof Repair was the complete opposite! He turned a very stressful situation for two young people into a joyful experience. My faith in humanity is restored and I can confidently say that I trust Mike and his team to take care of our roof today and for any job needed in the future. Exceptional!!! From start to finish, I am so happy that I chose Boise Roof Repair and Maintenance. They were referred by a friend after they received the same great service. Nick was super responsive, patient, thorough, and accommodating. He answered all of my questions and provided a very fair bid. From the time the bid was accepted to the job completion, it was less than one week. Nick and Mike showed up on time as scheduled with a full crew. They did such an amazing job with my old, poorly done roof and as they uncovered issues, the fixed them as if it were their own roof on their home. They left nothing undone! The fixed years of poor construction and workmanship by other contractors. They went above and beyond to complete the job! They even left the job site cleaner than it was before they got there. Their crew was so professional and skilled. I am extremely happy with my finished roof and I will recommend them to any family or friends that needs roof work done in the future.

One afternoon, I discovered water damage and mold on the ceiling of my garage. I frantically phoned roofers from a Google search. Michael was only the second call I made and happened to be the best call I made that day. He said he would be over in 10 minutes to assess the situation and he and his partner (Nick) both showed up to take a look at the damage and get me a bid. It is unheard of to get an appointment with anyone these days, for at least two weeks, never mind 10 minutes! I was impressed. Mike was able to visually see that the deck was not sloped correctly or drained properly when it was built. There were pools of water sitting under the deck (which is the roof of the garage), which in turn created the leak / water damage and mold in the garage. Now I was even more impressed. He was very thorough and had a plan on how to fix it (which was no patch work). Lastly, and the icing on the cake, was when Mike asked to see a copy of my homeowners insurance. I was so stressed over the mold, it didn't even dawn on me that day that I had to put in a claim and go through all that too! He was so calming and took over that process for me (one I initiated the claim). He knew just what to do, who to talk to, and took that daunting task off my plate. I was blown away. I didn't even want to get a bid from anyone else, he was amazing and I instantly trusted both of them.

Once the work began, it was go time. They both showed up everyday regardless of the snow or ice, rain or shine. Never late, never ever not showed up. They stayed in constant communication with me on every stage of the repairs. They were clean and respectful and worked hard all day. I had family coming into town for the holidays and didn't want the deck dismantled, but understood if it had to be. They worked so hard to make sure it was all done and in tack before the family arrived. They went above and beyond. Their work was impeccable and I even got a video of the project from start to finish afterwards :)

Excellent communication from bid through project scheduling and completion. We were able to schedule nearly 3 months out and the project was completed on the day requested. In fact it was completed in a single day for our large 2 story house. Michael and his crew take pride in their work and it shows.

We just had Mike repair and replace an entire roof.
Once he and his crew tore off the old roofing we found extensive water damage to the rafters. They were able to remove two layers of old roofing, and sheeting. They repaired all of the damaged rafters, re-sheet, and re-shingle in one day. The next day he sent me all of the information I need to warranty m new roof.
Very impressed with his response time and communication.

I called to recieve an estimate to have both my siding and my roof replaced. Michael scheduled a date and time to come out to my home so he could look at the project. I took a half of a day off work to meet with him. Afterwards he told me that he would email me a quote within a week. After two weeks went by, I called him to ask about when I could expect to see a quote. He explained that he forgot about me and would need a few more days. It's been a total of 5 weeks. I have never recieved a quote to this day. I absolutely do not appreciate YOU, Michael, wasting my valuable time. I have no doubt you're going to get Google to remove my negative review because that's how companies, like yours, operate.

Mike was extremely helpful and dependable. He was willing to take on a rather big project and quickly got the ball rolling and even assisted in dealing with insurance. He was very easy to get along with and knowledgeable. Our issue stemmed from a roof leak and sizeable hole in the roof. We were very grateful for how responsive Mike was in covering the hole with a tarp, not once but twice, and came out the same day due to the urgent nature of the matter.

Michael provided a very prompt response to my initial request, when others provided none. He gave me an accurate estimate when we first spoke. He was able to get the work needed done within a quick timeframe knowing our needs to have it done as soon as possible. He did excellent work and provided updates as the work was completed and even provided video evidence (with soundtrack which is cool) of the work done. All of this was also done in poor weather conditions to top it off. I can’t speak highly enough of these guys. I received everything I asked for and exponentially more, from the quality of the work, to the timeframe, to the overall attitude and easy ability to work with them. The best around and it’s not close!

Update: I reached out to Michael a few months after our roof repair to see if he could look at a downspout that had come loose. I'll get to the punch line first: I strongly recommend Michael Hill for repairs needed on your roof and highly recommend that you contact him before contacting one of the larger companies in town!

What was needed: There were a couple of major areas where water had been found to be leaking (after a snow fall) between the fascia board and the soffit on my house leading to peeling paint and some minor wood rot.

I had asked a few roofing companies to come by and provide an estimate for the repair. Michael was the first to respond and provide an estimate (with the estimated cost being consistent with the other estimates I later received).

So, why did I go the Michael? Well, after he examined the house carefully, his diagnosis and explanation was the most thorough and detailed of all the them. He took his time to explain what was happening and why. It was quite informative and I learned a lot about roof construction than I thought I ever would.

Apparently, when the house was originally constructed, the builders left a gap between sheathing and the facia. Compounding the problem, when the roof was replaced about 14 years ago, the roofers did not install the drip edge and asphalt shingles properly. In a couple of places, the drip edge did not overlap with the gutter and in some of those same places, the shingles did not overhang the drip edge as needed for water to fall into the gutter. In addition, the previous roofer did not install an ice and water barrier. So, anytime after it snowed, melting snow from the roof would back up underneath the asphalt and drip down between the gaps. The irony was that it would not have taken much for the original builder to construct the house properly or for the roofer who replaced the roof later on to do so correctly.

Repairs: The repair went smoothly. Michael ended up cutting and replacing the sheathing so that it would come over the top of the fascia board. Then he installed the ice and water barrier, asphalt starter, drip edge and shingles. In addition to fixing the roof, Michael also cleaned out and reset the angle of the gutters so that they would flow properly down the downspouts. Given that it is now April, I will have to wait until next winter to ensure that no leaks remain. However, a visual inspection of the work shows that the drip edge and shingles now hang over the top of the gutters, so all should be well.

In addition to Michael's willingness to explain everything in detail, I really appreciated that he did the work himself and did not farm it out to others (e.g., hired hands).

I also liked the fact that Michael's business, Boise Roof Repair and Maintenance is fairly new. Oftentimes, there is a tendency to hire established companies that have grown in size over the years. However, established companies often hire out cheap labor or really do not want to take on small jobs or find ways to take short cuts.

Instead, not only was Michael extremely knowledgable about construction methods, his willingness to take on a relatively small project in a timely manner was also appreciated.

Finally, I really like Michael as in individual. The word "mensch" comes to mind, which is Yiddish and often used to indicate a person of integrity and honor. Michael is a good man and someone I immediately liked, I strongly recommend him and highly recommend that you contact him before going with one of the larger companies in town.

Repaired and exposed even further damage than we initially thought amongst our roofline and exterior siding/insulation/interior drywall, namely water damage. Very pleased with the final result. Thank you.
