How would I describe my experience with Blue Ridge & Construction? In a word, exceptional.

After abortive attempts to find a contractor for the renovation of my primary bathroom, I took a chance with this company. Ben, the project developer, came to my house the next business day to assess the project. He was pleasant and informative, and came up with some great ideas to complement my own wishes. I received the quote just a few days later. The agreed-upon budget was in the ballpark of my own rough estimate.

The renovation moved along pretty seamlessly, thanks to the sterling efforts of Jeff, the project manager. I really can’t say enough good things about him. He was always responsive and came to the house regularly to check on progress and offer suggestions. Like all the other Blue Ridge team members, and subcontractors, Jeff was friendly, courteous, and utterly professional.

The job was completed with care and diligent attention to detail. A particular shoutout to the tilers, who can only be described as craftsmen. All of my friends who have seen the renovated bathroom have been blown away by the quality of the tile work.

All in all, this was a wonderful experience, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the end result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for home renovations.

We recently had a garage built by Blue Ridge and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. From start to finish, the service we received was outstanding. The project manager, Jeff was professional, attentive, and always kept us in the loop. Every question was answered promptly, and the whole process felt smooth and well-organized thanks to their excellent coordination.

The employees were all friendly, respectful, and they were cognizant of our dogs by doing things like always closing gates behind them and putting up temporary barriers when our fence was down due to the garage build and fence work.

A special shoutout to the carpenter, Nate, whose craftsmanship truly stood out. The attention to detail and quality of work exceeded our expectations. It’s clear they all take pride in what they do, and the final result reflects that.

Highly recommend this team if you're looking for reliability, skill, and great customer service. I can't speak for their other project managers, but if you can get Jeff, he is awesome. We’re thrilled with our new garage!

We went under contract with Blue Ridge in the summer of 2023 to undergo a variety of renovations in our home. We broke ground mid August and were told it would be done by Halloween. I was very surprised with this timeline and internally adjusted that end date to Christmas. Ultimately, they finished our project just before Christmas a year later. The work they did was good, and I encountered some very friendly employees along the way. However, we had 4 different project managers throughout our contract, 3 of whom left the company to pursue work elsewhere. For the first 10 months we had work being done maybe 1 week each month. With very little communication. I believe the business underwent some situations beyond their control during this time, but one thing they could control (IMHO) was not taking on additional new contracts while going very slowly on existing contracts. The delay in timeline was never really addressed on their end. We stayed with them instead of breaking contract because we didn't want the headache of starting over with someone mid project. However, I would not recommend this company to a friend.

I am the service manager of the apartment community in one of the photos. This was a very large project (if you could only see the out come photo). Could not ask for better or smoother project dealing with 700+ residents. Waited a year to leave a review. The guys were always there. Always done a terrific job, safety and communication was always first concern. Work was done on time and on proposal. Customer service was always top notch. Thanks Blue Ridge for an awesome job. Well done!!

Thank you so much to Brent Andrew and his crew. They are FANTASTIC! I had water leaking in my house from my skylights and hail damage to my roof. He took care of working with insurance when they didn't want to pay. The contractor guys were always on time to do work, very polite and excellant at what they do. He was so easy to work with! He got back with me quickly if I had any questions. I would definitely recommend him and his crew. I cannot express how much I appreciate your hard work!! Everything looks great!

We contracted Blue Ridge Restoration & Construction to tear down our existing porch and build a new screened in porch with adjacent deck with composite.
We planned the project for 2 years and had prices from several large and small local businesses to complete the project. Blue Ridge Restoration & Construction was fairly priced for a large project.
Our project manager left right before the start of the job, but the new project manager Ed was very responsive and went over every detail of the project to ensure things went smoothly. We were in constant communication throughout the project. There were expected bumps (with any project), but they said they wanted to make things right and did.
Their employees and subcontractors were respectful of our property and cleaned up after themselves.
The entire project (from demolition to final walk through) took 7 weeks with inclement weather delaying completion by 1-2 weeks. We were overall very satisfied with their work and would recommend them to others.

We began this project to build a full bath in our basement and install an egress window in April 2023 and it ended in January 2024. The contract stated it would take 45 business days, and they voiced they did "drop the ball" indicating it was things within their control they were complacent on. They pitched they utilized a calendar/scheduling system, that was only up to date maybe 7 days out of the 9 months total. We experienced many issues including lack of communication/no communication, frequent no shows, work done incorrectly and them having to come back daily to fix things, and poor customer service (always apologizing, never changing). They finished the project without all inspections/permit done, and had to tear stuff down to have inspections completed. We engaged them three different times to discuss resolutions, and there was never a change in their delivery of service. They informed us multiple times of staff being fired, and even transferred us to a different project manager. They continued to remind us "this is not how we do business" or "what our customers experience", but never changed. I've attached some pictures on how they would leave our space, as well as when they had to tear down their work to complete inspections properly. The picture of the dirt is the back of our house that was left like this for 3 months, risking water damage. We don't believe they are a professional business and we wouldn't recommend them.

Billy Murphy and his team did a fantastic job tearing off and replacing hail damaged roofs on a house and adjacent shed. Very neat work, and they did a great job cleaning up as well. Strongly recommend!! We have dealt with many roofing companies over the years, but Blue Ridge Restoration is in our opinion the best! Fair pricing as well.

Blue Ridge did a wide range of renovations at our new home (flooring, electrical, deck repair, drywall, some light demo) and did a great job. Robby and Daniel were both great to work with and it was always easy to get in touch. The work ended up great and I would definitely recommend this company

Giving Blue Ridge a 3 stars due to some early issues that we had with this company. We hired Blue Ridge to make some repairs to the back deck, re-coat the foundation, and replace some siding on the back of our house amongst other smaller repairs. The company initially started repair work in December. The job was left undone for over a month with debris in the side of our yard. The previous manager for my project left the company and did not communicate with myself or with the company the accurate progress of the work. After manager Ryan, took over, the job was done well and done efficiently within a few weeks. Ryan was communicative throughout his time on the job and the work done was solid. I had to contact him due to some of the siding coming up after the job and he made sure someone came by within the week to fix it.

I recently used Blue Ridge Restoration & Construction for several jobs at my house. They repaired some damaged siding, rebuilt a portion of my deck, and remedied an issue on my roof that created my siding issue. When all was said and done, this company lived up to my expectations and they did an amazing job. I couldn't be happier with the results. My project manager was Robbie and he worked with me from day 1 and gave me the confidence that I needed that the job would be done with the utmost care and that I would be happy in the end. These guys are true professionals. Robbie is honest, fair and tells it like it is. I will definitely be using this company again in the future and I am very thankful to have come across their name in my search for a good company to get the job done in a timely fashion. Fair, honest, amazing communication!!! Thanks again Robbie!

We started with Blue Ridge in June to complete various tasks around our newly purchased home (such as repairing our unstable porch supports). AND THEN in early July our chimney fell into our 100+ year old slate roof during a thunderstorm. Blue Ridge and most importantly, our Project Manager, Robbie, was stellar to work with for the next three months as we navigated tough roof repairs, crumbling ceilings, hole-filled walls, destroyed historic tin ceiling tiles, and more. Robbie was responsive to our concerns, even after hours, and he's so funny and kind. He greeted us and our toddler warmly and kept on top of the subcontractors to keep the house livable in the mornings and evenings for the family. All of our projects were kept under or at budget and if extra costs were necessary, we were well informed early and knew why they were necessary. We convinced our neighbor across the street and a few houses down to hire Blue Ridge. What great team.

I hired Blue Ridge Restoration & Construction to create an opening in the wall separating my living room from my dining room. They did an excellent job. From start to finish, they communicated well, did excellent work, and showed up when they said they would. I would definitely hire them again.

Blue Ridge did an excellent job with our backyard transformation. We had a large deck that was in bad need of reconstruction. Daniel, James, and Robbie came out to take a look and came up with some really good ideas. We ended up deciding to do a small upper deck with a new staircase configuration and a large paver patio. From project planning to the execution of the plan in the form of amazing deck carpentry and patio construction, these guys were top notch! It was a huge project which can be overwhelming as a home owner. But their communication throughout out the process gave us peace of mind and the end result is amazing. I highly recommend these guys if you are considering a large home improvement project. They have definitely earned my trust for future endeavors! Thanks Blue Ridge Restoration & Construction!

I used these folks to do some much needed siding repair (including painting) on the outside of my house. The crew was courteous, worked extremely hard and cranked through the work. Robbie, the project manager, was great to work with. I plan to use them again and have no problem recommending them.

David Gold with Blue ridge installed a custom double lock standing seem roof out of .032 aluminum. Custum curb mount skylights with custom flashing and chimney flashing as well all custom fabrication. In my 30 yrs of construction experience I never would have thought a roofing to be considered an art. David Gold with Blue Ridge. Six out of five stars

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
