Stopped in to chat about crossbar options. Was greater with a rude “what do you need?” after waiting a few minutes. Received a ludicrous quote. Promptly left. Can’t speak to the quality of service as I never purchased anything.

Dark Horse Customs in Four Corners took care of me. Rad group of guys, great customer service, awesome rigs. Will be using them for all related services.

Big Sky Topper and their staff made quick work of my truck topper issues.
I had a leaky window, side windows that wouldn’t slide, a rear brake light that wasn’t working, and no internal light.
For $80 they got everything fixed for a price I could not believe.

Super excited this local family owned business was able to help with my Leer topper. I did not purchase the topper from them but they happily did a few repairs on the fly. I also purchased seat covers. They went above and beyond in a repairing another dealer’s problem with zero cost to me. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. Highly recommend!

I had mike add some tracks to a brand new canopy. My expectation was this is pretty simple and professionals will get it right without much fuss.

Boy was I wrong
I came to pick up the topper and noticed the tracks were too long for the canopy. I was not happy as I have a rule about drilling “extra holes” in my canopy. And holes have now been drilled at the absolute longest part of the track so there’s no way to shorten the track without more holes.

Mike minimized my concerns, tried to convince me this is something people want, then tried to tell me it’s totally normal and they look like this from the factory, then finally says if I’m gonna be a “douch” about it then maybe he can get me back in to fix it. It’s a small thing I guess but I was looking for perfect, or just exactly what I saw when I walked around looking at every other canopy on the property.

Gaslighting me and basically using language that blames me for where we are.
He called me back once but stopped returning messages, I assume he would have tried to “fix” it but again there’s nothing to be done if I don’t want superfluous holes in the canopy.

I’ll share some pics and you can be the judge. Either I’m a douch or Mike makes mistakes and blames his customers. I’m ok with the mistake, I’m very unhappy I paid over $300 for this..

Highly recommend, they make every effort to make things right when they make mistakes. I’ve ordered many toppers, ladder racks, and tonneau covers from them.

They knew exactly what to order when I told them what my needs were. Took less than a week for parts to come in and they installed them the next day. Really happy with my new ladder, racks and tuxedo bed cover!

I could see why some people might feel these folks are a little abrasive at times. I have had them work on my topper twice now and Mike has always treated me well and provided a good product at a good price. Do and will continue to give them by business.

I was in from out of town on work. Lost the keys to my commercial top while out there. I called and they told me to come in. They figured out what key I needed and had me a new set and on my way in less than 5 minutes. Could not have been nicer too. Thank you for saving my rear end!

This place is run by what could be the rudest people in Bozeman. I bought a used topper there a few years ago, and stopped in to see if they might have gotten any used bars in…was rudely told “we don’t sell used!” I had literally just bought the used topper there a couple weeks before. Went back to look at options for a new truck. Stood in the showroom for 30 minutes before they could be bothered to come and show me what they had and give prices (yes, I went to the counter multiple times). They acted like I was a huge inconvenience to them just by being in the shop. I will drive to Helena, Butte of Billings to buy what I need rather than patronize this place ever again.

Mike has been wonderful to work with and very communicative. Our team and workers have helped install various car accessories and toppers, and they put a lot of care and consideration to each install. We look forward to our continued partnership!

Was a repeat customer. I bought toppers, mats, seat covers and even a double garage shed. They had a topper in house that would fit my truck and I just wanted to pick it up for a trip I was leaving on. Ghosted me for a week. Still hasn't responded to phone calls or messages. Wow really! I need floor mats seat covers and running boards for this truck. Worst customer service I have ever seen! If they treat there existing customers like this I would shop somewhere else.

This is one of the nicest and most honest businesses in town. I basically have to sell a kidney at this point for how many times I’ve driven into my garage door with my topper up, but Mike and the guys are always super nice and honest about repairs, and try to fix it on the spot unless the damage is too bad. Great service, good communication. Now my only goal is to stop breaking my topper doors.

These guys are awesome. Booked an appointment to get topper repaired later the same week I called. Was worried we couldn’t get it fixed without repairing the door. Fixed it within an hour and saved me hundreds thanks guys.

Great experience. Mike is easy to work with and prices are very reasonable. There are not very many places left in Bozeman that have the small town feel anymore, but Big Sky Toppers still does! Will definetly continue doing business here!

Needed to replace the rear door on our ARE topper. They gave an estimate incl. labor, ordered the door, made an appointment. We arrived early and they got us in early. Everyone was super nice. They did a great job on the replacement despite the previous rivets having stripped out of the topper shell and some of our DIY fixing. Will definitely go back for the next topper purchase.

Mike was extremely helpful and friendly when I went into to have my topper repaired. He offered quick service and did great work. I will definitely be there again and refer as many people as I can to his shop.

Just seems odd to me that a Topper and Tonneau store doesn't stock toppers and tonneau covers. Wanted to spend my money locally on a brand name tonneau cover that registers this company as a dealer, but was told it had to be "custom" measured and wait 3 weeks for delivery. Not my first rodeo buying and installing a tonneau and no they don't need to be custom fitted for a soft shell roll up. Ordered on Amazon direct from the manufacturer with 3 day delivery. Maybe order some stock and keep them on the floor or keep losing business to the internet.

I previously wrote a 1 star review but feel I need to revise it a bit. I had issues with my L.E.D. headlights and MIke warrantied them and was willing to try and seat the new lights despite the fact that I was missing a critical piece - no fault of BST. Mike replaced a side topper window my dog broke out with his butt. The new window isn't exactly like the old window and there is debri from the old window housing visible. Not a perfect experience but better than the 1 star I previously provided.

So far my experience with these fellas is strictly on their website and it is truly awful. It seems like the best they can offer their online customer base is the brand names they carry. If you want to actually see their products you have to go into their store. It honestly looks like they just googled pictures of a few products they carry then made some brief statement about how great their merchandise is. By this point you're either curious enough to stop by, see what the products look like, and see whats available or you do your shopping through a more professional company store/website. In a world where online shopping is taking over and the demand is skyrocketing this company needs a serious online update or they will be on the fast track to becoming the next Blockbuster of the automotive accessory industry. Maybe they just need to try some DMT.

I bought a topper from these guys. I’ll never buy anything again from them. They wouldn’t help find a topper and instead of being helpful they sent me to a website to order the topper. They told me what topper to order. It wasn’t Even available available for my pick up. They charged me more than they said they would. They told me about all the things that were wrong With the topper when I picked it up but yet failed to fix any of them. Then proceeded to tell me how to fix it and that I should do it myself. These guys are not anybody you ever want to deal with.

Came in to see if they could help me buy a topper. Two employees were at their computers doing literally nothing. The guy that I asked for help seemed to not want me there nor sell me anything I was asking about. I left there and have not been back since.

Bought a topper from them and can't complain. They are fair in pricing and work with you every step of the way. They even go out of their way to make sure you will come back and do business with them by offering customer service that is top notch.

Poor service - poor quality installation. I purchased a topper from these guys last year. The rear light cord was left hanging in space and my dog chewed it the first time he saw it. The window liner isn't seated - never has been. They recently tried to glue it back in. It lasted a day before it was just like it was previously.
Two weeks ago I purchased an LED light bar and LED headlights. The headlamp installation is terrible at best - the wires were left hanging without support. They spliced the wires and used a piece of electrical tape to hold the spliced parts together. It might last 3 months before the tape falls off and the wires are exposed. I will have to redo that with some shrink wrap, etc. The LED installation has been a debacle at best.
They cannot get it to work. I have been in 5 times to address the same issue - it doesn't work. To make it worse, they made my Bullydog ECU controller go out - then said it was my battery (brand new with good alternator) without so much as looking under the hood. I would not advise having these guys install anything. They screw things up and blame you for their incompetence. Go to professionals if you need anything other than perhaps a topper - they have a hard time screwing up that - but they still manage. I sense I will have to take my truck to Dark Horse Customs to ensure the "work" Big Sky Toppers performed can be fixed. What a total waste of time and money. I just hope my vehicle isn't screwed up permanently.

Stopped in there today to look at purchasing some cams for my t-handle locks. They walked out to my truck with me to make sure they understood what I needed and then went in the back office, found exactly what I needed and sent me on my way. In and out in 5 minutes. Awesome!

Piss poor customer service and a bad attitude. Bought a topper from them that leaked, and when I brought it in for them to fix it, they told me to (and I quote) "lower my expectations." Never went back to them and I never will. Go to the guys at Dark Horse Outfitters instead, they're fantastic!

Good service. Guys always were willing to help well I figured out what I needed and gave me a bunch of quotes.

Have not actually purchased anything from them but they are super nice and helped me when I pulled a piece of furniture out of my car and couldn't get it back in!

He, the self-described owner: 1. Pilfered parts he removed from my truck 2. Refused, and continues to refuse to replace or return the parts 3. Lied to me, in writing and verbally, on more than one occasion 4. Damaged my truck during installation 5. Asked me whether I was a Christian which, was apropos to absolutely nothing except that he was "asking me for forgiveness"... I thought he was nuts...

This guy is a thief, a liar and a bigot...Tell him that I said this and tell him to sue me,

I love my topper, I bought it several years ago and every time I break something, or need a new accessory they go above and beyond for me.

I love this store. Everything for my pickup at very fair prices. I bought a topper, a grill guard, backup camera and leather seats from these guys. Everything was of excellent quality. Any time I had a problem with something Mike the manager took care of it. You can't ask for anything more than a company who stands behind their products and sells at a fair price. This is my third truck that they've outfitted and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Big Sky Toppers!
