Probably one of the best contractor experiences I have had and I have had many. Ryan was responsive on communication from bid to completion of the work. The entire process was streamlined and efficient. He right sized the project and saved me a lot of money while providing just what we needed. He kept exactly to his promised timeline of completion. His crew was polite and respectful and efficient. They were attentive to cleanup and keeping the site neat at all phases of construction.The end result, that included deck repair and a new rail system was beautiful. This is a local business owned by a family for several generations and they show pride in purpose and integrity. Very happy with the final result.

This company might do some fine construction work but when they cause damage they do not honor their work and haggle over a $345 charge for the damage that they did on the roof of a mutual customer. Would not recommend. When you miss a stud, and leave a gaping hole in a shingle causing a leak to occur and tell the customer they should have contacted you and not the roofing company, and refuse to contribute I call this really bad customer service.

We had them build a concrete patio with metal cover over it. We love it. They were very professional and showed up on time. They left the property clean and were professional. Would definitely use this company again. Call them and you will not be sorry. So happy with their service!

They DO SHODDY WORK AND WON'T FIX THEIR BROKEN PRODUCTS. Patio cover was installed summer of 2022. It started leaking this past Winter. I contacted the owner Ryan and he said he would send someone by to reseal it when they were in my area. 2 months went by... nothing. I contact him again he texted back "We have a job in your area in a couple weeks, we'll come by and fix it then." I replied, "Can you please give me a definitive date when you will come fix the leak?" He never replied. I gave him 2 weeks, nothing still. I then called the office, no one picked up, so I left a voice mail. That was a week ago and no response. I guess they are happy they got their money, and fine ignorimg their faulty work.

Great experience all-around. Ryan was very responsive from first contact through to final adjustments on my outdoor awning. He and installation crew were on-time and tidy every visit. When I needed adjustment after the installation, crew came by after work the next day, cheerful and helpful as ever. Excellent service and product!

We can't recommend Better Homes Northwest highly enough! They installed a patio cover for our neighbors, and we were so impressed with it that we hired them to install a deck and cover for us as well. We previously had a concrete patio and a small, mostly decorative deck with lots of wasted space, and we wanted to replace it all with a large deck that allowed us to enjoy all that space. Ryan worked with us to turn our vision into a reality that was within our budget, and his crew did an absolutely first rate job removing the old deck and stairs and installing the new deck and cover. The final project exceeded what we had hoped for in every way! We couldn't be happier!

Would recommend Better Homes NW to family, friends. Great product, good communication with sales rep, Ryan. The installers were on time, professional and friendly. Left site clean. But beyond that the cost was better than competitors. No hidden costs!. These guys are busy, but it was worth the wait.

I visited BHNW website on a Monday morning and filled out an online form. Ryan, the owner called me back that day and we set up a meeting for a Wednesday. He came with lots of knowledge and tons of photos of his work. Promised me that it would be done before an even that I was having a couple months away. He shook my hand and wrote it in the contract that it would be finished by desired date. The canopy was actually ready to be installed weeks earlier than promised which was so fantastic. I was not present for the install but my relative was and he said they were very professional. I HIGHLY recommend Ryan and his team.

Call these guys! I'm recommending them to my family and friends. They demolished and disposed an old rotten deck, poured an aggregate patio, and installed a beautiful composite deck with awning. Everything turned out great, on-time and for the agreed price. Ryan designed the whole project, and had material samples with pictures to show for the initial consultation. The crews were polite, professional, and clean. I wish I had done this sooner! Now I can leave my patio furniture outside without getting all wet in the rain. My dog appreciates it too!

We are VERY happy so far with our patio covers. The crew was very professional & worked hard in tough conditions! We now have two DRY (not one drop of leakage) patios to enjoy. It is sooo nice to just walk out and have a dry area to enjoy. I was a little hesitant about the aluminum, (wanted wood) but I am absolutely sold & happy we went with this option. It will be super easy to maintain & hopefully will last for a long time. The whole process working with them was very easy & professional.

Ryan and the Team were great from the start. Quick time to get a quote, beat their estimated install date. Showed us many examples of what we could do. Install was quicker than they said. Very nice people. Product looks amazing. With lumber prices being so high I chose to go this route. Will make some great use of our patio during all seasons. The height and the sky lights are my favorite.

Ryan and his crew did an amazing job of building steps and replacing the deck at our beach property. The materials and workmanship are of the highest quality and the results are fantastic! We have sturdy steps and railings to walk down to the beach, and a convenient place to store our kayaks. Ryan listened carefully to our wishes, and made them become reality. He was always responsive to our calls and requests, and easy to work with. They cleaned up when they were done, and left the place much improved! Thank you!

I really love our patio cover but I hate the concrete pad. First let me say that the concrete was done by a subcontracted company.

The patio cover is absolutely beautiful. It looks so fancy and finished. The consultation was very nice and informative. Lots of different material and examples were brought along with albums of previously done work so we could see different products in a finished state. There were some options more expensive than others but what stood out to me is that not once did I ever heel pressured to choose something more expensive or persuaded in anyway. I hate that kind of thing and the fact that we were listened to was honestly a HUGE selling point. We talked over lots of options and everything felt very honestly including the expectations on the process and time frame. We went through this process beginning of October and the patio was finished mid December- a lot sooner than we expected since it's rainy all the time!
The concrete was done by a company Better Homes NW uses. The company was nice however I'm not particularly a fan of how areas turned out. The pad is way more attractive than what we had don't get me wrong... but some areas are rough. They did pour concrete on a day it rained afterwards so maybe that was a factor? The lines/ contraction joints are really really rough and textured compared to the smooth concrete covering a majority of the pad.
The other thing I was a bit concerned about is the concrete was placed over crushed rock however the rock sits above the ground higher than our yard so after the concrete forms were removed it allows rock to slope out from under the concrete in areas. I hope it doesn't compromise the concrete strength and create cracks in the future with the soil and gravel washout of it slopes the pad.
They also kind of left a mess in my opinion. There are chunks of concrete that was surrounding the form. We can dispose of them ourselves but for the price we paid I wish the concrete folks were a little more attentive.... And they did a number on a part of the yard leaving a uneven rocky mess.
Aside from my visual complaints and concrete longevity worries it looks nice and the cover which Better Homes NW personally installed is beautiful. We have alreadybenjoyed it numerous times in the 5 weeks we have had it. We have had many compliments and look forward to showing it off . Living in Washington you shouldn't be confined to the indoors all winter and spring long...this adds SO much usable space in our lives and value in our home.
I would truly reccomend this company to friends and family.

We investigated numerous options for covering our outdoor patio before deciding to work with Ryan at Better Homes NW. We are so happy with our decision and would choose to work with them again. They built a beautiful cover over our outside patio area and it looks like it was original to the house. We love relaxing and entertaining in our new covered patio. We even feel like we added a new room to our house! It looks even more beautiful in person than the picture can show!

Had a cover placed over an existing deck. Wow. Better Homes did. an mazing job. They had to first remove an existing porch roof and fill in the gaps which they did and then put up the cover. All in one day! Never took a break. All our friends are envious and we are the place to be during this pandemic! Thanks Ryan and gang.

I can not recommend them highly enough! Only contractor that showed up (out of 6) to give me a bid on a new deck and cover and none of them could even give me a bid after weeks of waiting. But Paul gave me a bid after 30 minutes giving me exactly what I wanted . The crew was super professional and did impeccable work. Our deck is stunning now !

We met with Doug Boughal of Better Homes, who came out to give us an estimate for replacing our very old patio cover. Doug had pictures AND samples to show us so we would know exactly what we were getting. He gave us a written estimate for the job which we thought was very fair. When we got the date for the work to be done he told us one of his best installers would be out. We were happy to meet Ben who has been doing these installations for about 8 years. Ben was on time, ready and never wasted a minute in tearing down the old patio cover. He was careful with our plantings and even unfolded a tarp on the grass where he had supplies laid out. It was obvious that this young man knew exactly what he was doing and in just the one day the job was completed and everything cleaned up. We are delighted with our new patio cover and would be very happy to recommend Better Homes - Home Improvements to anyone! In fact we've already recommended that one of our neighbors give Doug a call. I'm sure they won't be disappointed.
