Luke, Johnny, Reese, and their crew did exactly what they said they would do and did it when they said they would do it. We have lived in Steamboat for 45+ years and I have had very few experiences to match this performance. Excellent in every way.

We had a massive ice dam on our roof in February 2023 that caused a very large leak in our house resulting in damage to our ceiling. Since we live in Houston and spend our summers in Steamboat, I waited until we arrived in Steamboat in late June to contact our insurance company. They sent out an adjuster to look at the roof and damage, and he told us to contact a roofing company for an estimate. The first company I called told us they were booked for the rest of the year. I then called Berlet and they sent out Jim Otto, an estimator/salesman the next day. He was very thorough and pleasant to work with and dealt directly with our insurance company on the detailed estimate for replacing the entire roof he provided me with on July 7. After several days, the insurance company approved his estimate without any changes and we had a signed contract on July 17. Jim told me that our roof was scheduled to be replaced on August 30, and I was pleased it could be done so quickly. The roofing materials were delivered to our house on August 1 so they would be there in case our job could be done earlier than August 30. On August 11 at 8:00am Luke Berlet called to tell me that he had an opening that day on his schedule and asked if he could send over a crew to get started on our roof immediately. I quickly agreed. Stephan, the job foreman, and his crew showed up about 20 minutes later and got started. Stephan told me that he thought the roof could be finished by the end of the day, which surprised me because our house has over 3800 square feet. His crew of about 6-7 men worked nonstop until about 8:00 pm and finished about 95% of the job!! This includes an amazing cleanup job. Stephan and his crew returned at 8:15 the next work day and finished the job that morning. The most time consuming part of the second day involved the installation of heat tape (de-icing cables) on the most problematic section of the roof, which spanned about 40 linear feet. Because of the enormous complexity of this part, Stephan handled the whole thing himself with the aid of one helper and did an amazing job. After he finished, he explained to me how the system worked and all of the extra things he did to prevent any problems with the cables, gutter and downspout in the future. After he finished, he went over the driveway with a large magnet for a second time to pick up any nails that might have been missed during that process on the previous day. Throughout the entire process, Stephan was always pleasant to work with and kept me well informed of what was going on. He was always quick to ask questions and seek my approval of his recommendations on various aspects of the job along the way. Stephan definitely went the extra mile to ensure that the job was done in the most thorough and professional way possible.

Luke was a fantastic advocate through the whole process of dealing with insurance. He took detailed records that allowed him to effectively represent the damage with the insurance when they refused to cover. He followed up on our behalf without prompting and made sure we were properly represented. Thank you for taking care of our home since we were not able to be present for the process!

We have had a major ice dam over the passageway around the side of our townhome. This was so bad our dog couldn’t pass through to the back yard. BERLET rectified this project in no time. Luke and his crew were the only snow removal team to say yes to removing multiple feet of snow from the heavy storms this winter. They were early for their appointment and safely, quickly removed snow (and ice dams) from the roof, plus cleaned the decks and walks.

Berlet removed a 40-year-old metal roof and installed a new higher gauge metal roof including a new skylight, upgrading the cold roof, and new fascia. As a retired contractor I was pleased with how easy it was to work with Luke and his installation crew.

Berlet Roofing's estimate included removing and replacing the rock facade on the masonry chimney. After discussions about costs and future maintenance we decided to wrap the chimney with metal with a metal cap. Forrest the lead on the chimney was great to work with. I would recommend looking at this option. We did a simple design to match the new roof but there would be other more creative/artistic designs that would be possible.

Berlet Roofing did a fabulous job with our new roof! We had a mess of a roof that resulted in much ice damming and damage to our home. Berlet guided us through the entire process, from making an insurance claim to the finished product. All appointments were kept in a timely fashion, including receiving phone calls even when one of their representatives would be only15 minutes late for an appointment. The work proceeded on schedule and was done very quickly. At one point, they ran short of materials and could not quite finish the job. Once the materials arrived, they returned promptly and finished the job. After that, we reviewed the entire job, with my wife and I pointing out very minor areas that needed improvement. They ordered additional materials, scheduled an additional work session, and completed the work in an excellent fashion.

What started as a minor leak turned into a new roof on the house and barn. Luke and his crew professionally worked with and educated the front range insurance adjusters (who didn't have a clue about things here in snow country).
