Bear Roofing and Exteriors did a wonderful job on replacing my siding, soffit, fascia and gutters this summer on my home. They worked well with my insurance company and kept me informed on all correspondence with them. They also installed the entry door on my garage and removed and replaced a footing and post on my back porch that was in need of repair. I worked with their siders, gutter installers, carpenters and electrician. They were all professional and courteous. There were no problems that I incurred during the whole project. I had a roof leak last week. I looked in the White Bear Press for a roofer, found Bear Roofing & Exteriors, called and Cody was able to come out right away while it was still raining. He identified the leak and came back the next day to make the repair. He then made two more trips to make sure the leaked had stopped. I was impressed with their response time and the care Cody took in making the repair. I would certainly use them for other exterior work.

The amazing team at Bear Roofing & Exteriors once again provided incredible service to us as they installed a new exterior patio door. We are repeat customers of Greg as his team installed our new roof, and vinyl siding a few years ago. Then, and now, Bear Roofing delivered an incredible installation experience from start to finish!
Cody was our project manager, and he came out to give us an initial estimate, as well as offer us ideas as to the type of door that would benefit us the most. He answered all our questions, and placed an order for our door to be manufactured. Once the door was ready to be installed, Cody and Joel scheduled our install date and were ready to rock! The installation was smooth as glass, and the interior trim around the door looked fantastic! The install team left our house cleaner than they found it, and our door looks simply beautiful!
We will only use Bear Roofing & Exteriors in the future for our roofing, siding, and window needs as they have earned our trust every time we have needed their services. Bear roofing installed a new roof, siding, soffit, fascia and gutters on our home a number of years ago and the work was beautiful! This week they installed a new roof on my shed and took care to make sure that all the edges were sealed with a drip edge and even placed a metal flashing at the bend of the roof, rather than bending the shingles. They do nice work at a reasonable price.

Bear Roofing & Exteriors did my roof replacement. Prompt response and scheduled the work when we wanted. Cody was easy to work with and answered all my questions. Crew was efficient, skilled and cleaned up afterwards. Great job, fair prices and would use again!

Liars that will scam you if they can. Tree fell on our house, they insisted that we'd need a new roof, insurance said otherwise, when it became a smaller sized repair job they ghosted us even though we had a signed contract. Left us to scramble to find a crew before winter. STAY AWAY from these scammers.

Cody came out and did a quick, but thorough inspection and then performed a temporary repair to get us through the next rain. He was professional, knowledgeable and gave me a good idea of the two repairs he is sure is the problem and why. Along with a very fair estimate... After a test rain, a heavy duty 1/2" with some wind, he was right on the money with the initial test fix. Dry bedroom! Within a a day or so, was back out to implement the permanent solution. After last week' deluge, we still have a dry bedroom.... Well done! I very highly recommend Bear!

A tornado and hail storm struck our area. We got bids from multiple established companies, including Bear. The difference maker was Quinn going to bat for us with the insurance company. They only wanted to replace less than half of our roof. Quinn came out again and gathered more evidence to show that in fact our entire roof needed replacement. The insurance company agreed. Additionally, he kept us in the loop and was very proactive with contacting us and making sure we knew what we should do in order to get things done. Finally, the speed, quality and cleanliness of the job were all top notch. We are very happy with Quinn Evans and the entire team At Bear Roofing and Exteriors.

Bear Exteriors took the time to come out and fix a siding problem on our home. Great customer service for a home that they didn't side originally.

Had brand new windows installed with some siding repairs done. Greg and the crew made short work of the installation, and we've been enjoying the new windows for over 6 months. Will definitely continue to work with Bear Roofing in the future.

Great experience. Called for a roof inspection following a wild storm causing a tree limb to hit my house. They sent someone out same day to inspect. Bob not only inspected, but removed the excess debris. Would definitely call Bear Roofing when I need repair or replacement of my roof. Lucky this time - dented fascia but no shingle damage.

Bear Roofing replaced our roof and gutters last summer. They were damaged in a hailstorm. They did very nice work and even installed gutter guards onto our gutters. We have not had a single issue with the roof and it looks beautiful! It's nice being able to work with a local company in White Bear Lake.

New Roofing : The sales part was smooth - a contract was provided that we added detail to without any problem. Wood needed between levels was provided early so it could be painted before install. Very good site supervisor explained all and showed pictures when done. Contract was fulfilled, job well done and complete clean up.

Bear Exteriors recently replaced my roof, and I was thoroughly impressed with both the quality of their work and their efficiency. The new roof was beautifully installed and completed in a timely manner.

About a year later, a tree branch caused a significant hole in the roof. I contacted Bear Exteriors right away, and they responded swiftly. Within a day or two, their team was at my house repairing the damage. The repair work was exceptional, and the roof looks as good as new.

Marti in the office deserves special mention for her outstanding customer service. Her personable and attentive approach made the entire process smooth and pleasant.

Initial contact was good, and the rep came out within a couple days to look at the small hole in our eave that needs repair. That was three weeks ago...still waiting on an estimate and have left multiple messages with no call back. Bear was great last year when we had a new roof installed but this experience has changed my opinion of them.

Bear did a great job on my roof. Quinn worked with my insurance company and made sure that the claim went smoothly. He worked really hard to get all of the work approved and even got some items approved that I hadn’t considered. No regrets working with Bear and would happily do so again.

We had a leak in our ceiling and assumed it was the roof. The next day someone from Bear Roofing and Exterior came to check everything out. Even though it wasn’t the roof, they determined the issue and found someone to fix it the same day to stop the leak. Everyone was professional, responsive and so easy to work with. When we need future work, we know we will be returning to Bear.

I’ve worked with Quinn at Bear Roofing and Exteriors on several projects. He is a true professional, and the company is top notch! I was so impressed with how quick they completed my last project and the communication was fantastic!

I have used Bear services (roof repair, gutters, siding) on multiple homes in the White Bear Lake area. The folks in the office have always been friendly and helpful. The estimators (I've worked with Joel and Bob) are timely, informative, and the prices are competitive. And most importantly the work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. When I had my gutters installed the tech noticed some of my downspouts would be blocking walkways so he offered to put downspout hinges on them so they could easily be moved out of the way at no extra charge. It's the little things that make all the difference. Highly recommend.

I had a minor issue with my siding. Of course it was in a difficult spot for this old geezer to get. Called Bear Roofing and they dispatched Cody to come out. He not only repaired my issue but dealt with a small hornets nest that had gotten behind the siding.

Bear (Bob) was timely, helpful, did an inspection regarding my concerns and clearly explained what I needed to know. He did not try to sell me something not needed and finished the inspection and consultation--professional, thorough, clear explanations, patient with my questions. Bear Roofing replaced my roof, some siding and a few other minor things and the experience was great. Alyssa and Marti were great to talk to in the office when i needed something and Bob was easy to work with through all the details with me and my insurance.

Workers were organized and friendly. This job was a repair to a damaged gutter. Additionally they listened and offered a solution for diverting the water. Would highly recommend.

Had our roof replaced in 2019. They did a great job. Had them out again today, after calling them Friday, for a free inspection. Roof is still in like-new condition, even after recent hail storm. They even fixed some minor wind damage for free while they were here.

Bear Roofing is a MUST use if you are in the need for Roofing, Siding, Gutters or any other home exterior needs. The staff was professional, honest, responsive and went above and beyond in almost every aspect. Our project consisted of Roofing, Siding, Gutters with guards, Soffits and Facia, Garage Doors, Exterior Lighting, Front Door, Patio Door as well as a new design for our front entry and home entrance. They even offered minor adjustments and cost effective options to enhance my previous look and added curb appeal that I never imagined. The crew was timely and efficient, and most importantly great at what they did. At the completion of the work there was not a nail or any remnant left behind. Had it not been for the completely new look of a home you would never have known they were there. The before/after of my project is almost unrealistic......

Bear Roofing has been great to work with. Dealing with storm damage can be very stressful. Bear made it much easier to deal with. Anytime I called the office with questions, they answered. Marti, and Alyssa always had the answers to my questions and were very professional. Greg came out and inspected/measured my roof. He also came and met the insurance inspector to make sure things went smoothly. They dealt with insurance for me as well. I highly recommend bear roofing not only for storm damage but, any roofing, siding, or window repair you may need.

They did not communicate when they would show up, they left my yard, front and back plus my driveway a mess and did not pick up or toss anything. They were also playing their music so loud, I work from home and when I asked them to turn their music down, they ignored me and were drinking the whole time they were working on my roof, then they would drive.. I called about all of this and no one picks up the phone. I would not hire this company for any thing. I have let everyone I know about this company!! This company should be boycotted!!! Especially with the drinking and driving of their workers

I hired Bear roofing to replace my house and garage roof, resurface a small flat roof, and install a railing on that flat roof in spring of 2021, with the expectation that work would be done in the early summer.

I did not hear a single word from Bear Roofing as fall approached (not even a courtesy contact about the delay or a new timeframe), and I began to experience leaking from my flat roof. It took me 3 different methods of communication to finally get ahold of someone to move myself up the priority list, due to the leak.

After the roof was done, my yard was a complete mess of construction materials and regular garbage. Further, the sections of siding that needed to be removed were NOT put back on, and were left in multiple piles on my driveway and in my yard. This included the foam insulation, which I had to track down in neighboring yards (because, surprise, foam blows in the wind!!) There was no communication that my siding would not be put back on the same day, and again required 3 communication methods to get ahold of someone, and it was over a week before a siding crew came out. There was no protective wrapping on the house and I had to personally secure all of the foam insulation to keep it from blowing away during this time.

My railing did not get installed after the roofs were done. I heard nothing from Bear Roofing for a YEAR, until they finally sent an email saying that they found someone who could do the job. Supposedly they lost a flat roofer in early 2022, which doesn't explain why it wasn't completed in 2021. And if there wasn't anyone on staff at that time to do it, then why tell me you could get it done? Say "no," if you don't have the staff!

Terrible communication and inconsiderate work. Do not use Bear Roofing.

I hired this company back in mid September 2022 to replace the shingles on my roof. Greg Fry came to my home and inspected and told me to call my insurance company to file a claim. I did that and an adjuster came and agreed I am due for new shingles. I forwarded all of my insurance information from the adjuster to Greg and his team. I have not heard a word since. I have reached out weekly and someone would say they would let Greg know I am contacting them. I called and only get an answering service that say the same thing. It is now November 1st and I still have not heard from anyone at The Bear. I suggest you don’t waste your time with this company and get someone that will actually call you back.

Disappointed in the responses and lack of communication. When they were coming to do the roof the timing changes as it’s weather dependent of course but there was minimal communication when dropping off supplies. They came at 9pm the night before without any word to load our driveway up with supplies. That may be fine for some people but for a family with 2 loud barking dogs and a toddler that was super annoying. a little heads up would have been nice. On top of that, the roof has been installed (months ago) but they were going to do additional services for us but aren’t getting back to us. We’ve called them about 5-6 times in the last couple of months with no response back. We’re trying to be understanding that they’re busy but this is just ridiculous at this point. It’s been the same response each time… “we’ll get back to you.”

Last year we called Bear Roofing in August to do work on our house. They finally came out in November to put on a new roof. Well, the got the roof done in November 2021. My husband and i were gone the day the roof was installed. When we got home, the workers were gone. They didn`t throw anything in the dumpster. They threw it on our lawn. We had to pick up a jar of nails that covered our driveway before we could pull in the garage. We walked up to the front door were they put a hole in our siding. We spent 2 hours picking up trash, siding, garbage, nails and staples. They said they would come out in the spring of 2022 finish putting on the gutters and doing our peaks. Well, we called them in May to see when they were going to finish the job. And after countless phone calls, the job, ( horrible job) was finished in August of THIS year! This company is terrible to say the least! Do not hire them!

December 30, 2023 - Final review edit - Greg was able to get our windows installed. Much of the delay was due to Marvin Windows long lead time for orders. The windows were as expected and of good quality. The installation had some minor setbacks but Greg was quick to respond and communicate (once the windows were in). We are happy with the work but I do have one recommendation for Greg. He has a really good mind for remodeling and is considerate of your budget. He had excellent suggestions and we are happy with the selections we made based on his advice. I think it would serve his customers best if he did the initial meets and consultation but handed it off to one of his foreman once the job starts. He obviously has a lot on his plate and it can lead to difficult communication. I could work with Bear again but would ask for a project manager/ foreman other than Greg, so he can focus on what he's really good at.

Original review (September 2022)- We called Bear to give us an estimate on roof repairs and window replacement. Greg was on time, very professional and thorough. He answered our questions and made excellent suggestions we hadn't considered. This was, by far, the best experience I've had with a contractor. I highly recommend them.

The roofing and gutter teams were extremely efficient, quick and well organized. They are friendly and communicative. I am sure that their bosses will reward them with a great surprise meal.

I noticed that my ridge cap was blown up and flipped over exposing about 20” of my roof to the bedroom underneath. I called Monday morning and spoke with the most fun girl on the phone. I can’t remember her name but she is going to Florida on vacation today. Dallas called me within the hour and was up on my roof in 2 hours. He sent the quote to fix on Tuesday, the construction guys repaired this morning just before the dumping of rain! Outstanding communication from everyone! I even got a text that the work was done! Thank y’all for the excellent dedication to putting the customer first! I highly recommend using this company!!

Had an issue with something. Greg the owner followed up with me no more than an hour later resolved the issue. Definitely appreciative of that.

Bear came out last year, 2020, in October to redo the entire outside of our house. They were to come back out to do touch up painting around the property, sand and stain our overhead in the front of the house, finish/replace the electric box on the deck, and finish the under board underneath our front door in the spring 2021. We paid them over 31,000 my husband had been calling them every single week since the spring. Went on BBB and only got the electric box addressed and 1, 4X12 board replaced, no paint. Greg came out to have a meeting but just argued the entire time and then said that our expectations are outrageous because my husband mentioned something that wasn't straight. Now the company has chosen NOT to complete the rest of the work. We have had to reach out to others to come out and do the rest of the work. Unacceptable. Not happy with bear so I took my 3 star away after this whole ordeal and this is the update. Just be patient and hire someone else, I would have paid more for the job to be done and completed, and not to dink around for a year for almost nothing to be accomplished. They are crooks who won't compensate you for the undone, uncompleted job either without a obvious court order to get your money back.

We had gutters and gutter screens installed by Bear Roofing and Exteriors Inc. We selected them after getting estimates from other gutter installers and it was easy to see the honesty and and integrity the business feels about their workmanship and products. Alex, our installer was on time and it was soon obvious he knew exactly what he was doing. His workmanship and attention to detail were nothing short of top quality.
We would definitely recommend the business for gutters.

I contacted Bear Roofing for some work that needed to be done. These guys are outstanding. The work is top notch and we couldn't be happier. It wasn't quite within the timeline that I was hoping for but it was worth the wait. I have, and will continue to recommend them to anyone that is looking to have work done. Interior or exterior it doesn't matter, these guys can do it all!

The only reason I gave 5 stars on this is because I couldn't rate them with 6.

Hired them to do a full reside, partial roof replacement and gutter install. Took 12 months to finish the job, was told it was a 2-3 week timeline. I sent emails bi-weekly to keep job going with little to no response. I thought a reduction in fees was a reasonable request due to poor quality of work ( they came out for multiple repairs) and the length of the project over a year. The owner, Greg, only answer was "was the job finished , were you really inconvenienced at all? not really. pay me my money." Stay away would be my review.

We had our roof replaced last year by Bear Roofing and I needed to comment on the unbelievable experience we had. I could tell from my first call that this company took pride in the work they did. I was quickly presented a wide variety of products and never felt pressured to rush a decision.
Once we decided on a product, the process moved along just as promised. Alyssa in the office was always willing to help answer questions and always did so with a smile on her face (at least it sounded like a smile on the phone).
The roof looks amazing and what really impressed me was the way the team took care around our house. Our plants and landscaping were never harmed, and every bit of construction material was cleaned up and removed.
I have recommended these guys to all my neighbors and now the internet too. Give them a call, you will not be disappointed.

Needed soffit work done that included custom wrapping of wooden beams that extended out through the wall plus some gutter and downspout. Crews came on time as scheduled, work was done in a timely manner, finished product looks great. Everyone we were were in contact with - estimator, work crews, office - I would gladly work with again.

I think Bear did a good job. The three workers spoke very little English so it was very difficult to communicate with them. Cleanup was very thorough.

Bear Roofing did an excellent job of replacing our roof, installing aluminum fascia and soffits and new gutters. Our house has a large roof that is very steeply pitched with a lot of gables that made the project more challenging than a typical roofing job and they completed the work nicely. Plus they were responsive and able to accommodate some last minute changes as the work progressed.

Bob was great to work with! He returned calls timely and kept me posted on when the crews would be starting the work. He was always willing to answer my questions and helped me work through any concerns that I had. The crews that did my roof, siding and gutters did a great job, worked hard, cleaned up and finished in less time than I had expected. I couldn't be happier with the end result. We contacted Bear Roofing in regards to a possible leak in our sons room and also woodpecker damage to our cedar siding.

Greg looked everything over and explained what had happened and ways for us to fix it ourselves, as there was no significant leak/damage. Greg recommended products to use and where to buy them at.

It was a one day process to rip off the old roof, re-shingle, and clean up. All was completed in the same day. The roof looks great! We had some other work done by Bear Roofing & Exteriors to straighten out the overhang around our house that had developed a "smile" and that work was done at the same time as the roof and looks fabulous!
