Working with Bald Cypress on our home addition and remodel was the best decision we could have made, and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome! Matt and Amelia are highly communicative and transparent throughout the entire process, and work with fantastic project managers (shout out to Gus and Conner) and subcontractors. The project was completed on budget and within a week of the initial estimate! Our new spaces are beautiful, well-constructed, and blend well with our existing home. These are good people who do good work.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Bald Cypress Builders to finish a room over our garage, and we couldn't be more delighted with the results. Wow. Bald Cypress has been wonderful to work with. Matt, Amelia, and their team are the best! I’ve even referred two other people to them in the past month. They’re just good people. They’re honest and very hard working. We did a MAJOR remodel, and it stayed on schedule. We moved out on March 20, and the house was done by the end of August, only a couple of weeks off the scheduled end date. How often does that happen with a remodel? They are also extremely responsive. If we had a question or concern, they would get back to us as soon as they could, usually by the end of that day or first thing the next morning.They use an app called CoConstruct that helped us communicate with them, and kept us informed. It was also used to make selections, etc… They also got me in touch with an interior designer (Priscilla Ertel /Haven + Harbor) that helped me immensely. She helped me make selections while helping me stay within our budget.

We moved back into our house almost a month ago, so we are going through our “punch list” right now. They continue to be responsive, coming to fix and work on small things that need some extra attention. We have no regrets going with Bald Cypress. They did very good work, stayed on schedule, and were very responsive. And on top of that, we just enjoyed being around them. As I said, they’re just good people. (The only reason I didn’t click on “good value” above is because the remodel we did cost a good bit of money, but it’s not Bald Cypress’s fault we did an extensive renovation. They did top notch work!)

Bald Cypress owners, Matt and Amelia, and their skilled team of specialists did an amazing job building a 1500 sq. ft. workshop, multipurpose room with kitchenet, full bath, and two-car garage. From the time the land was graded in August until the last light fixture was installed in January there was hardly a day, including some weekends, when someone wasn’t onsite working.

Matt and his field supervisor, Connor, kept up with every detail and were quick to require corrections of the few mistakes that were made. Their standards were higher than ours and we never worried that the finished building wouldn’t be everything we expected. In addition to a unique design, an optional fire sprinkler system was installed, a new challenge which they took on successfully without hesitation.

A particularly helpful tool for communicating, tracking costs, and marking progress is an online construction app that Bald Cypress used to coordinate with us. This enabled regular and meaningful communications. It was not unusual for Matt to send progress reports late at night to let us know what to expect in the coming days and to notify us when decisions were needed on paint colors, interior furnishings, and electrical and plumbing fixtures.

We also really appreciate Claire at Phase One Design for working with us on a unique and attractive plan with many windows for lots of light.

The building was completed 10 months ago and we use it every day. We love its beautiful design, functionality, and comfort. We especially appreciate the diverse subcontractors whose skill and excellent work ethic made it possible. We have no regrets or thoughts that we should have done something differently. This was a low stress experience with a perfect outcome!

After contacting a few contractors, we selected Bald Cypress to build our accessory building. We worked with Phase One in Rosewood to design the building we wanted: functional and full of light.
We chose Bald Cypress because they were communicative and responsive from the very start. Throughout the entire process, we had a clear picture of costs and timing. Whenever we had questions, they had answers. Whenever we needed options , they gave thoughtful alternatives. Whenever we raised a concern, it was addressed.
Their keen attention to detail made this process easy for us. After signing the contract, we had a clear path forward, beginning with ordering windows- the items with the longest lag time(and we have some unique ones)! Seeing the build come together as site prep began with consecutive steps following was so gratifying. Sure, we got lucky with weather during framing, but we know that overall, our project went well because we hired professionals.
Matt, Amelia and their team clearly demonstrated commitment to quality in deeds big and small- whether reframing a set of windows that wasn't quite aligned, or fiddling with touch up paint and spackle at the very end of the project.

Working with Bald Cypress Builders to remodel my front porch and side stoop was an awesome experience! I had the floor planks, railings, stairs and posts replaced because of some rot beginning to take place on my previous porches.
