Baker came to repair the roof at our place. They were horrible, they spent an hour or two up there and claimed to have fixed it and it leaked the next time it rained. They did not even attempt to do a water test, just quickly climbed up there on the ladder and then left. Baker does not do good work nor do they stand by their work. Avoid!

The Carlyle Condominium HOA recently bid out a roofing project on our three-story building in the 'Fan' on Hanover Street near the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

The winning contractor was Baker Roofing - Richmond. Dave Youmans and the entire team were responsive, informative and prompt in evaluating the condition of our roof and recommending the best solution for our needs. And in the final analysis, they did great work at a fair price and were extremely professional from start to finish.

While Baker Roofing is a successful and large company with business through out the mid-Atlantic, they treated us like we were their only customer. And, based on this experience, I recommend Dave Youmans and the Baker Roofing team to assist you with all of your roofing needs.

I just had a million dollar roof put on our school by Baker Roofing. In my eight years as principal of my school, I have never had such amazing professionalism, courtesy, and exceptional customer service from any contractor. I have never met contractors who communicate and strive to meet the demanding needs of a school filled with staff and students while also trying to complete a huge job. They were very conscience of the safety issues and cleanliness of their work as well. They finished earlier than proposed and even brought donuts to the office the day the completed their work! I could not be more pleased and more confident in a company! A huge thank you to Doug and Frank!! You will be glad you chose Baker Roofing!!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
