We hired Jack and his crew to completely remodel our two upstairs bathrooms. Both bathrooms were complete demolitions, with the Master bath involving switching around the plumbing and entrance. The entire project was completed within 5.5 weeks! Jon and Daniel showed up promptly every morning, hustled all day and left the job site clean and tidy every afternoon. Jack was great about communicating with us throughout the project. We even went away for 10 days and received daily picture and FaceTime updates. We are extremely happy with the results and will definitely hire Jack and crew again for our next project (kitchen!!)

Jack and his team did an awesome job at installing a gas fireplace build out into our home. It's been a dream to have a fireplace, and thanks to Appalachian Construction, we finally have one! Jack was very communicative throughout the whole process, and answered all our questions and helped us make a great choice for our home. We couldn't recommend Jack and his team more, and are excited to work with them on other house projects in the future.

Jack and his crew did such an amazing job, giving me my house back! They worked hard and communicated schedules with me so that I knew what was happening. They made sure everything was cleaned up and put back in order. They also finished my job in about a week and I thought it would have taken longer than that. Nothing but good things to say, other than I absolutely reccomend them!

Finding a trustworthy contractor can be tough, but Jack is the real deal. He doesn’t try to upsell you and takes the time to listen to your needs and the scope of your project. His estimates are accurate, and all the work was completed on time with great communication throughout the process. I highly recommend Jack and will definitely be working with him again on future projects.

We invited Jack to come to our home and give us an estimate on replacing a corner shower. We let him know before he arrived (and again when he arrived) we did not want to go with tile due to the difficulty in keeping the grout clean, and that we wanted to go with a prefab unit or acrylic wall panels instead. Jack claimed it would be very difficult for him to find a shower pan if we go that route. I pointed out the shower pan is 3' x 3', so it should be easy. He insisted that is a very difficult size to find, and suggested that we go with tile instead. He said grout has come a long way over the years, and that it is easier to clean now. If you Google "What is the standard size for a corner shower?" you will see it is 36" x 36" (or 3' x 3'). You can easily find these at any Lowes or Home Depot or wholesale distributor. Either Jack doesn't know the standard size of a corner shower pan, or he was trying to upsell us a tile shower. Either way, we will not do business with him. He may do fantastic work, but we need to be able to trust who we're working with.

These guys are great to work with. They did our back deck and patio last year, and our front porch this year. The work was awesome, and impressively fast. I would recommend them as my first choice to anyone I know.

My Mexican kitchen is a dream come true. Jack and his crew were amazing from start to finish.
They were concerned about every detail. The communication is exceptional. I never wondered where they were or when they would be here. We have had lots of experience with contractors so we understand how the process works.

Jack and his team put in all new cabinets, countertop, sink, and backsplash for my kitchen and they did a great job! I am in love with my new kitchen. Highly recommend and hope to use them for future house projects as well.

We had tried for many months to find someone to do a master bath remodel. I am so thankful Jack was willing and more than able to do the job. He and his crew are super friendly, very good at what they do, and conscientious about their work. They showed up when they said they would, kept us informed about what they were doing, were very helpful when it came time to decide on even the smallest details, and cleaned up after themselves! Jack will not settle for an inferior product and will fix/replace anything that doesn't meet his high standard. His crew is able to do much of the work including plumbing, but even those he subs out are very skilled. We are so happy with our new bathroom which includes a tiled shower, corner tub, vanity with a granite top, a cabinet for a linen closet (made to go in an old shoe closet), and heated tile floors. We will be using them in the future!

Jack was fantastic from the first phone call to the completion of the job! I wanted to replace my deck with composite. He explained the options and was very patient while I took time to pick which color and style of board I wanted. After I paid the deposit the materials arrived very quickly. His crew started work early on a Monday morning and by Wednesday evening they were done and it looks fantastic! The crew did a great job cleaning up the site as well. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend! Jack and his team did a wonderful job redoing our deck and remodeling a portion of our living room. Team was very courteous, punctual and paid attention to detail. Will definitely be using them again.

Jack and his team did an awesome job removing and replacing my deck. He and his crew were always pleasant to interact with and never flinched when I nitpicked some things at the end. They also went above and beyond by completing a railing and some concrete work that was not part of my original quote. I would definitely recommend them and will likely use them for future projects at my house.

I cannot recommend Jack and his team enough! They helped us out with a remodel of our home. There was a constant stream of communication throughout, and they were always responsive with any questions that came up during the process. Appalachian Construction feels like family now that I've had three projects done. And as soon as I have the money to do more, they will be the company I rely upon. I had dental office renovation, master bathroom redo and outdoor fencing redo in the past two years. Each project was done with great quality and time efficiency. And I think the they left the project cleaner than they found it every day. The owner came out on a weekend mid-renovation of the bathroom when a line was leaking water. I am "that" client with the OCD attention to detail gene and I grew up helping my dad build and renovate our homes. I am always pleased with the attention to details. I hesitate to post such a great review because I don't want Jack's company to get so busy there's no time left for me. They are awesome and I can't think of any construction business I know of that does everything as well as Appalachian Construction.

Jack and the Appalachian Construction team did a great job on installing drywall in my basement as well as cabinets in my laundry. I would definitely recommend them and plan to use them in the future on other projects.

After meeting with 5 different construction companies (one of which wouldn't even give us the time of day), we decided to work with Appalachian Construction to remodel our bathroom. Jack was great to work with, super responsive, and very understanding of our tight budget. There was a lot of water damage in our bathroom (much of which we didn't know about until they pulled up the bathtub) and his team adapted and made sure to repair every problem they identified. They even found a leak issue unrelated to the bathroom that we were able to address with the town! The bathroom is amazing. We love it! And because of the great working relationship, we plan to use them again in the future. I've attached some before and after photos (ignore the mess!) to show the transformation!

We were having trouble finding a contractor to install siding on our house during the pandemic. Jack was recommended to us and he was wonderful to work with. Although he didn't install the siding himself, he oversaw the project and made sure the work was done and done correctly. What we appreciated most was his quick response when we couldn't get other contractors to respond. We highly recommend Appalachian Construction.

WOW! Jack and his crew came in and saved our home in a pinch. We had a small issue in the during a kitchen remodel and Jack was able to fix it quickly and at an affordable price. His crew also installed our new kitchen cabinets with precision and ease. In a few weeks, the crew is coming back to do all the kitchen title work. Appalachian Construction & Maintenance LLC was recently subcontracted through Ideal Cabinets to install cabinets for our kitchen. I have never written any positive or negative review for any business entity before, but I feel obligated to share our wonderful experience working with Jack’s (owner) team. I am hoping that my feedback will make it easier for other homeowners to pick the best contractor for their home improvement projects.

The most remarkable observation about Jack’s crew was that all of them were very courteous, engaged, professional & conscientious. I could see that they were striving to not only do the job, but do it well with pride.

IMHO, one can tell a lot about the level of professionalism of contractors by the manner in which the worksite is left upon completion of work. Much to our surprise and delight, Jack’s crew left the kitchen as if no demolition or construction activity had occurred. This speaks volumes about Appalachian Construction & Maintenance LLC and I do not think that anything further needs to be said on this aspect.

To conclude, I highly recommend this company for home improvement needs. Without any doubt, I am planning to employ their services for our future home projects.

Jack Richmond is an amazing contractor! And an all round great guy. He handles all sorts of challenges with ease. We have been thrilled with the renovation that he did in our kitchen and living areas.

Always on time and updated you on what was going on, (progress and changes) Everyday he and his crew left they cleaned up and it was like they were not there but your could see their progress. The project was done on time and we also changed things on the fly and Jack and crew mad it happen. We are so happy with all of the improvements. I highly recommend Jack and his crew for anything you need, Simply the BEST !!

Just recently we had our ancient kitchen remodeled. Jack and his crew did an outstanding job. They helped with a design that has made life much easier and gave me a beautiful kitchen in the process. This was the second time we employed this company. About three years ago they remodeled our bathroom, again a very professional, functional and beautiful job. We live in a 70 year old house, both the bathroom and kitchen are small, but after the transformation, both rooms look bigger and we love to show them off. I highly recommend this company!!

We had Jack and his crew do a kitchen floor (remove linoleum and install tiles), a complete remodeling of a bathroom, and install sliding doors. All the three times, the work was perfectly done, and they took care that we were happy with the job done. We thoroughly communicated during the constructions, so that we were always updated about progress and issues, and the crew asked how we wanted that or that to be done, to match our requests. We will hire them again when needed!

I have had two major remodeling projects completed by this construction company within the last three years: a complete kitchen remodeling and, most recently, two complete bathrooms and a bedroom remodel. Both projects were completed just as expected and on time. They provided excellent recommendations on project materials and their workmanship was of the highest quality. The bath/bedroom remodeling was completed last summer (cost of that project is shown below). Since completion, we have had no problem issues that required follow up with the contractor - not with plumbing, electrical, basic construction, or finish work with floors, fixtures, or cabinets. We are expecting to work with this contractor again in the next year or so on a deck rebuilding and replacement of two sliding glass doors leading to our deck. We have very high confidence in this company's overall quality of work, integrity and dependability.
