Working with Shark was a wonderful experience! They were reasonably priced did not take a long time to schedule with him extremely professional I loved how he emailed me the invoices and he was very fair. I was very pleased with everything.

Apolinar roofing has a fantastic team and did an excellent job on our roof. After a major storm ruined our roof this year, we called Apolinar to schedule an estimate. Shark came to our home, did a thorough assessment, and spent time explaining to us what our roof required. Beyond the damage we had, we knew we were in need of adding ventilation. Shark knows his materials well and was able to explain to us in a way we understood what all would need to be done. He brought sample colors for us to look through. He was prompt, professional and kind. The price was extremely fair considering the ventilation costs we were expecting.

Once we scheduled the job, Cathleen the office manager was great at communicating with us and updating when the project would start. She was able to answer our questions on what all needed to be done in preparation for the day they would start the roof. We were expecting to have to clear off our patio and clean out the attic. Really we only had to move our cars from the driveway and Cathleen suggested covering our attic boxes with a drop cloth.

Before the team started on our roof, they walked around the property and moved our decorations so they would not be damaged. They placed breathable drop cloths around the perimeter of our house for any debris. They moved a small dumpster into our driveway. After the first day of work was complete, the team did an excellent job cleaning up the property. One employee walked around with some type of magnet to collect any nails they might have missed. On the following day our roof was complete. We were updated throughout the entirety of the project with a website where progress pictures were uploaded. There was one area on our front porch I asked about an old piece of wood (unrelated to the roof), Shark immediately addressed it and replaced the wood for us (this was a great relief as I would not have been able to replace it myself). You can tell this company takes pride in their work! Sharks motto is ‘your roof is my roof’ and I really believe he cares enough about his work that he would return should an issue arise. I definitely don’t expect any issues but if I ever needed another new roof, I would return to this company without hesitation.

This review is overdue, but after two months of rain, wind, and heat, I can say with the utmost confidence that I could not be more satisfied with my decision to use Apolinar Roofing. From the moment I put in a request for quote, I was dealing with the owners of the business. Shark, the co-owner was out to my house that evening to give me a detailed estimate. It was clear that he knew the work, not just sales. They were able to start work as soon as the materials arrived. They were prompt and worked hard all day. Every night they cleaned up the yard and made sure the roof was fully waterproof for the night. Shark kept me updated throughout the project and gave me a lot of informed recommendations on how to get the best bang for my buck. At the end of the project, Shark met with me again to ensure I was fully satisfied. I’m pretty sure the crew left my yard in better condition than when they started! I love my beautiful roof. It was worth every penny. In the best way possible, you can’t tell any work was done. It looks completely natural and like it has always been on the house. Some of the siding and gutter work they did as well looks spectacular. I’m sure it will be a long time before I need another roof, but the moment I do, Apolinar will be my first call.

Took excellent care of our house after we discovered a leak from a skylight. Came out same day to temporize the problem so we didn’t have additional damage and were prompt in replacing the skylights with a fair cost and excellent communication. Would definitely recommend.

I'm a roofer who works at a bad company. I've been watching these guys for 3 days. They have a nice size crew very diverse besides the point. Their doing such a better job than we would do. Their not cutting any corners at all and their doing all these extra things that we don't normally do. They haven't done work for me but I've been watching them. If I needed a roof and I wasn't a roofer I would call them. It may cost a little extra. I'm not sure. But you will definately get Owen's corning warranties and Owen's corning is #1 roofing manufacturer. I'm I'mpressed

Prompt, attentive, friendly! Pictures and videos were provided prior to the estimate being given, during the work progress was shown by the same method, after the work was completed. The documentation was provided to us, and all timelines were met or exceeded. The worker cleaned up all work areas during the work and the street and neighbors' areas were also cleaned and inspected for any nails, screws or metal. Highly pleased with the work and company

Long story short:
Over the past 20 years, I’ve had several contractors work on my house — and without any hesitation, I can say that Apolinar Roofing was the best of them all. Professional, efficient, and kind from start to finish.

Long story long:
After a storm damaged my roof — two shingles were blown off — I contacted Apolinar Roofing, thinking it would be a simple patch job. My roof was about 10 years old at the time. Apolinar offered to fix it for $350 but also pointed out that the roof was in poor overall condition and recommended a full replacement. Naturally, I panicked, expecting a huge expense.

But Apolinar immediately put me at ease. He told me not to worry — he would handle the negotiations with the insurance company on my behalf. And that’s exactly what he did, with complete professionalism. Thanks to his efforts, the insurance company covered the entire cost of a brand-new roof.

Not only did Apolinar go above and beyond, but the new roof is much better than the original ever was. I can hardly find the words to express how happy and impressed I am with the quality of the work and the integrity of the company.

We are extremely pleased with our new roof and are very happy we chose them. It made a huge difference working with the actual contractor, and not just a sales person. We got 7 estimates and over half didn’t even get up on the roof. Shark took his time and actually did an examination of both the roof and attic. He is extremely knowledgeable but no high pressure sales at all. His crew were very respectful and did an excellent job cleaning up. Cathy was very friendly and helpful in keeping us informed with timing and schedule. They also provide a link so you can follow the progress. We figured there would be some broken or rotted boards which there were, but they were quickly uploaded to the link so we could see for ourselves. Getting a new roof is very stressful but Shark and his team were the best and I can’t say enough good things about them.

My flat roof was long overdue for a repair. I had been going up every year myself to patch leaks, but it was becoming a losing battle. I called fived different companies to receive estimates on the roof. Most of the companies did not meet with me in person. Most looked at my roof on google. One sent up a drone, but it was a salesperson and not the roofer. Only Shark came in person, with a ladder, went up on my roof, and talked to me about what needed to be done.

His prices and estimate were totally fair. He noticed things that I knew needed to be done but other companies did not include on their quotes. Him and Cathy talked to me about every decision regarding my roof, was patient with any questions I had, and included detailed pictures. They also shared an incredibly useful photo timeline of all the work.

Given the condition of the bricks under the coping on my roof, I am sure I potentially saved a huge amount of money by going with Shark. Other companies did not even suggest removing the terracotta coping. It’s clear that water penetrated the coping, completely destroyed the mortar beneath it (in my structural brick home), and was consistently entering the roof decking. In addition to laying down a new roof, the Apolinar crew did a neat job of rebricking and installing a new metal coping.

The Apolinar crew clearly takes pride in their work. They also cleaned up extremely well every day. That sort of thing makes a big difference. Couldn’t recommend more.

Apolinar did a great job with my roof and gutters. Shark spent about an hour at the house to develop the estimate including going onto the roof and inside the unfinished attic to see what the decking looked like. He found issues with drainage and leaking gutters that i knew about but nobody else addressed in their estimate. He also took time to explain how they approach the work.

The hard-working crew (they didn’t outsource our work to another contractor) worked through some snow and cleaned up every day, including sweeping for loose nails. They shared photos throughout the day and Shark kept me well informed as the job progressed. Their focus on doing the job right left me feeling like I made a great choice to hire them.

We had some unique issues with our roof. We asked for a six inch bump out on two dormers, replacing a box gutter, all new gutters, skylights with blinds etc. They listened to my requests and made great recommendations as to how to accomplish the tasks. We have an area of roof with a shallow slope that has caused repeated problems for us – leaks in some areas and underlayment that inexplicably became soft after a short period of time – despite repeated attempts by other roofing contractors to fix it. Unlike the previous contractors, Apolinar Roofing correctly diagnosed the problem, took photos to document it, and used a different roofing material to avoid future problems. The previous contractor, a major one in this area who advertises heavily, had missed the cause of the softness – an obvious condition -- and simply slapped on a new roof that could not possibly last -- then declined to come back and fix it. Indeed, that contractor left it in a dangerous state. It became so soft that one of Apolinar’s workers stepped through the old underlayment, which just fell apart (he was OK). It was not his fault and we were very upset that the previous roofer had created the safety issue. The roof was only a couple years old. Apolinar then took great care in fixing the hole, laid new underlayment and a new roof using a material appropriate for this roof, and cleaned up completely. The owner, Shark, was a pleasure to deal with, and we plan to ask him to do more work for us in the future. We recommend this company very highly.

I reached out to Shark last summer for a roof estimate. He was incredible thorough, taking lots of pictures and actually getting up on the roof. They did a wonderful job on our roof. They kept us informed by pictures. They cleaned up around the house very well.

Apolinar Roofing did a terrific job of replacing long sections of rotted trim around the house and re-pointing areas near the chimney. We had had bees get into the house via gaps in brickwork in an area under the trim so it was important to fix this carefully. The job was done with great care and attention to detail. The areas that were repaired look great. The manager, Shark, pointed out a number of aspects of how they were doing the job that showed the care devoted to getting it right. Shark and his crew were a pleasure to work with and cleaned up very thoroughly when they were done.

Easy to work with, honest, conscientious, and clearly took pride in their work. There was a little miscommunication throughout the process but I always felt that it was resolved with integrity. My project was not a straightforward roof swap, so I expected some challenges. They handled it all professionally and came up with good solutions to any curveballs along the way. I’ve already recommended them to people and will continue to do so.

Couldn't have been happier. I had them come out to remove two aging chimneys (unused one was knocked down, closed up, and shingled over, in-use one got lined, brick removed, and a new metal pipe in place). They also added new ridge/eave vents, fixed/updated the bathroom exhaust, and fixed some minor trim problems (stuff coming loose). It took them 1 day and an hour the next day. They were nice and friendly to deal with. The price was pretty reasonable for all they did (I had quotes for half as much for just installing the vents). Also, they send you a picture timeline of the stuff they're doing so you can follow along from the safety of inside your house so you can watch the progress. Long story short, they did an impressive amount of work in a short amount of time. I would use them again should we need repairs or a new roof.

I’ve worked with other companies in the past, as I own multiple rental properties. Apolinar roofing is the best so far. Don’t even bother calling this company… I called this company for a roofing repair and the lady that picked up the phone was more than rude. No greetings, I asked if they’re taking new customer and told me to remove her from “my list” like if I was a sales person. You guys should verify if the caller is a sales person before treating customers like trash.

The moment Shark and his crew arrived, it was heads down and elbows up! With their hard work ethic and professionalism, his workers still found the time to smile and say hello whenever they saw me. Shark was very thorough and dedicated to attention to detail. He set himself apart from other roofers by actully getting up the up on the roof and taking pictures then emailing them to me with explanations of the work that needed performed. When the work began, I really appreciated the photos he sent me as the job progressed so I could see the different layers from start to finish. It wasn't long after completing the project, that a neighbor was inquring about a business card. Our house's curb appeal has elevated to a whole other level! I highly recommend Apolinar Roofing without a doubt.

On top of that, Cathy has been great at communicating everything that was happening at the job as well as answering all of the questions that I had for her. There really isn’t a better roofing company in Pittsburgh than Apolinar. They arrived in the morning with a whole crew and replaced all my gutters, fixed my fascia board, cleaned up and we’re done by the afternoon. The work was perfect and professionally done.
